@FlavCity with Bobby Parrish : I was just wondering...are you filming there in Trader Joes with an actual "camera" or are you using a cell phone? I saw another vlogger do this and the Dollar Tree threw her out and she asked the manager there why they didn't make the other customers leave who were using their cell phones to record what they wanted? The manager's reply to her was, "We cannot tell people what to do with their cell phones, but we cannot allow actual "cameras" in here". What are your thoughts on this???
iphone..and I agree...if people wanna use their phones, and go to the store when its not that busy..and are not in the way...that should be fine! its good press for their store ;)
Trader Joe’s should be grateful for the free publicity- great job for trying to share your insight. :) I enjoyed it! At least the guy who had to kick you all out was nice about it. :)
I found your channel a few weeks ago. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your food knowledge with the world. I truly believe you are saving lives. Thank you!
As a college student Trader Joe’s is so nice if you’re broke. Their salads have saved my life for as little as 2.59 each salad bowl and they are so fresh! 🥗 and their pasta is .99 cents. Most of their veggies are very inexpensive too. Our budget for both my boyfriend and I for 1 week is 35 dollars. They also have chicken legs pack for 2 dollars. Also check the 1 pound of ground turkey for 2.69 😻 (as you can see if it costs over 3 dollars we don’t buy it Hahahah) for coconut milk Dollar Tree has each can for a dollar 😊
I wonder why they don't let people film in the store. It never made any sense to me. You guys are actually doing them a favor and getting them business when you talk about what to buy. Great video.
i work at trader joes the spices dont sit on the shelves for "months and months" they usually sell out and are replaced with new ones within a couple of days if not less than a few hours after they're put on the shelves
@@BobbyParrish also...we don't know how long it sits in a warehouse before being shipped to the store... I order cheap spices from a truly organic farm in Washington that mainly sells herbs. I do pay extra for shipping but at least I know the source and it is shipped very fresh:)
Tell the person writing the grocery order to order more for the shelf and have some in the backstock. So when you guys stage the backstock before you guys leave for the night, wala it will be on the shelf once again for the next recipes to be made. Than you won't have any upset customers talking to your Captain at the pit!

I love putting cream cheese on the Norwegian crisp bread and sprinkling everything but the bagel seasoning on it. It’s like a bagel fix but for like 4 carbs.
From an old retired English teacher who can't lay down the habit - if it's countable say fewer, but if it's not countable, say less. Example - This recipe has less milk, so it has fewer calories. Or this example - Since I used fewer tablespoons of milk in this recipe, it has less liquid. In this sentence, it's the quantity of tablespoons that are being counted, not the amount of milk. Since tablespoons are countable, fewer is the correct choice.

365 Whole Foods tahini is not good quality either.. Lebanese and Palestinian brands are far better than the Israeli and Greek tahini's. Makes sense cuz that's where hummus originated :) Can usually find some good ones at your local middle eastern store or even at Walmart. Tahini is also the base for 'halvah' which is frickin DELICIOUS if you haven't had it! Pick some of that up if you're at a Middle Eastern food shop
No one place where it really been linked, but it was historically important in the region for kosher diets, had family work in those grocery stores and regulations don’t exist, quality can’t be traced or mentioned at all but unique and different tastes of tahini sure but not the same as quality or the 365 is way safer.

Oh my you just made my day. ❤️ it I’m telling my husband that when I go to the store I am clueless of what to buy healthy and cheap you are a tremendous help to me I appreciate you thanks!!!!!
Whenever I eat vegan food for 3-7 days due to religious reason, always make my own tofu from soybean and lime juice. The meatless, meat immitation stuff have a lot of questionable ingredients in there. I dont know if they are bad for me or not but I refuse to eat stuff I cant pronounce 😁.
Thanks for the info, visited Ohio a couple years ago, & my friend introduced me to sprouted bread, it was so good, but not carried in Chicago or New York.I'll see if I can find a picture of it.txs
Watch how much tofu you consume because my friend ended up with horrific thyroid problems because of daily consumption of soy products. Especially concerning if you're female.
Awesome informative videos... ! When you think you're doing your homework and buying healthy stuff, staying away from gluten sugar and milk products....bam! You realize you're back at zero! I feel real bad for those still eating at burger joints and drinking sodas daily. So much to learn. Thank you!
Thank you for the recommendation about the tahini. I’ve been eating Trader Joe’s and didn’t realize it was bitter until I tried the Whole Foods 365 brand. 👍
Recently I asked about purchasing macadamia nuts at Trader Joes and I was told they haven't sold it for a long time (this is in Minnesota) - maybe some Trader Joes has it. So I did purchase these on Amazon (9 oz for about $11-12.00). I've learned so much from, Bobby, when I go shopping now. I found almond "Malk" (milk) for 50 cents at a discounted supermarket - I bought six of them it tastes great, organic, cold-pressed, no bad ingredients.
Very helpful, great video. My favorite thing to get at Trader Joe's or the Oatmeal and Juices they're packed with more nutrients than any other store I found. Also great water
I don't know how you do not kicked out more times from Trader Joe's. Years ago I took a photo at a mural at the Westfield, NJ location and an employee came up and told me that the company doesn't allow photos from inside the store. She was rather rude about, but at this gentleman was nice. Also, the cattle in Argentina and Uruguay are always grass-fed; they have some of the best meats on the planet.
Thanks, Bobby. Your videos are magnificent! You and Thomas DeLauer are by far the best on UA-cam. You, especially, are very friendly and informative and your delivery is on point. Thanks again.
Loved your video. A correction, though, cassava & tapioca are from the same tuber but not the same product. Cassava is the root, cooked, dried & ground into flour. Tapioca is the juice of the pressed root, evaporated into a fine powder. Cassava flour (also called yuca) is lower in carbs than tapioca. It makes a great gluten-free bread.
I just discovered your videos. Thanks for all the information about what to buy and what not to buy at different stores. I can't wait to check out your recipes!
Hi Bobby, hello from Dallas, Tx! Just found your channel yesterday afternoon & I'm so glad I did! The timing couldn't have been better. In the New Year my resolutions like so many others are to lose weight, eat healthier, cook more at home, & try Keto. My husband lost 20lb last spring on it & kept it off. I however have never tried it personally & know if I were doing it also he'd want to do it again & be more successful with my support too. Besides weight loss, I think eating a low-carb diet in general is something everyone should focus on. Thanks for sharing your comparison shopping knowledge & making us more awaare of the many ingredients in food that shouldn't be, & to be weary even if the label appears healthy. Again, that's something everyone can benefit from too. I'd like to see a haul video from Wal-Mart or whole foods. Your Aldi & Costco ones were great! Can't wait to try some of your recipes soon. Happy New Year to you & Jessie, look forward to what you have in store for your viewers in 2019! :-)
1. Can you make a video for vegans/vegetarians??? 2. Can you make a video for people who have food allergies??? 3. Can you make a video on kosher foods??? 4. Can you make a book on all 3 above that is keto ready recipes???
I hate that people buy, lower fat tasteless cheese to be healthy. The Norwegians use a light skimmed milk to make their Jarlsberg cheese. Full of flavour and naturally very low in fat.
@@kvf710 OH! no sorry about that...I was referring to those so called low fat Cheddar and low fat swiss....when you can buy fabulous cheeses that are naturally low in fat...love Pecorino Roamano...I can use my teeeth as a grater on a piece. lol!
Just wanted to add some clarification on the dairy comments in the video. Lactose is, like you said, a sugar in milk and is reduced by some cheese making processes. Casein is actually a protein (like whey) and is not reduced in cheeses. However, some people with a casein allergy are actually only allergic to the casein in cow milk and can eat dairy products from other sources (goat, sheep, etc.) without issue.
The only place I've found that beats Trader Joe's on macadamia nuts is publix , you get more for the price at publix but other than that Trader Joe's beats it on everything else
I just bought the same TJ coconut milk yesterday and it states the ingredients: Organic coconut milk, (water, & organic coconut). By the way, my coconut milk is always located on the top shelf at my location in Orland Park. They must place their items per how popular they are and sell per location in the store. I make my own cauliflower pizza crust from scratch using TJ Cauliflower Rice and their sometimes I mix their Broccoli Rice using half and half located in their refrigerator section to your left when entering the store. I use Chef Buck’s technique by putting the veggies in a skillet to cook the water out of it first and low and behold my crust held up without having to eat the pizza with a fork! Chef Buck’s and I have a similar recipe; however, I do season my crust with Italian spices and hard Asiago and Parmesan cheeses. Thanks Bobby for that information about the Tahini sauce from TJ, I wish I knew about it a few buys ago. I was making Hummus dips without the Tahini sauce and she said it was good and she asked about the ingredients and I left out the Tahini sauce that was missing and when I looked for it I had chosen TJ over WF’s brand because it was cheaper in price; however, my Hummus taste better with out their Tahini sauce. I do remember making Hummus for the first time using Tahini sauce that my daughter left on my pantry shelf and I believe it came from a speciality store and I started tweaking the recipe by using different beans and adding avocado to the recipe, etc, that I totally forgot about the Tahini sauce until she had mentioned it. Yes, TJ’s Tahini sauce was not all that!
You are so worth watching. I didn’t know about 100% grass fed. It’s not so much that I’m into organic it’s the meat tastes like what my Dad used to raise when I was a kid. Especially chicken.
Yes, please do more stores! Aldi and walmart would be great. Thank you for all the useful info! Also, that keto pita looks amazing. I can't do dairy, however. Could you guys come up with a df pita?

I wonder if stores have any signs up with rules on whether or not one can film inside their establishment or maybe it's something covered under some type of commercial/private property law?
These videos are a great idea! You make shopping a little easier for many people. However, I would make sure to leave out certain comments - or research some nutrition facts - before leaving it in the video: 1. The cauliflower products are ALSO high in carbs because... they are made from cauliflower (contains 2/3rd the amount of carbs as wheat flour) 2. San Marzano tomatoes are extremely expensive, and are available in limited quantities. Those tomatoes are the same "San Marzano" style, and are tasty, but are not the real deal. 3. Coconut blossom aminos are made from the 'sap' of the tree blossoms, but is nothing like maple sap. The extraction and processing of Maple is also completely different. (My family owns a sugar house) I hope this doesn't come off bad... Not trying to be a Dbag. I just want to provide the most accurate information as possible (just like you!).
I doubt the spices at trader joes aren't fresh considering they're always selling out of everything and they stock product every single day. I think the supply and demand is too high for them to have old stuff.
This was great. Where have you been hiding? Am subscribing right now. Thanks for the tips. Trader Joes is where I do my shopping. I didn't know about the grass/grain fed cows. Lots of helpful tips.

Thanks for the info, visited Ohio a couple years ago, & my friend introduced me to sprouted bread, it was so good, but not carried in Chicago or New York.I'll see if I can find a picture of it.txs
they have sprouted bread at trader joes..and whole foods!
Dianne Roberts what is sprouted bread I never hear that before
Watch how much tofu you consume because my friend ended up with horrific thyroid problems because of daily consumption of soy products. Especially concerning if you're female.
Mind you, I absolutely love tofu myself but only let myself have it on special occasions, once a month or less.
Awesome informative videos... ! When you think you're doing your homework and buying healthy stuff, staying away from gluten sugar and milk products....bam! You realize you're back at zero! I feel real bad for those still eating at burger joints and drinking sodas daily. So much to learn. Thank you!
Just found your videos. I've learned so much! Thanks and keep up the good work!
This guy is great! So fluent and knowledgeable. *hand claps*
I LOVE Traders!!! Been shoppint there for years!!
They shouldn't kick you out your making them business! I go by your videos when shopping at Costco or Aldi's love your info! Thanks 🧡
Very helpful, great video. My favorite thing to get at Trader Joe's or the Oatmeal and Juices they're packed with more nutrients than any other store I found. Also great water
Duuuuude!!! That little tidbit about the cheese has just changed my life!!! Ty🙏!!!
Would love to see reviews at Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Earth Fare and Luck’s and Save A Lot. Also BJ’s and Sam’s Club and Walmart.
Enjoyed this video and learned a lot! Thanks for sticking with it and going to the 2nd store. You are so confident and calm when filming. Great job!
Loved the video, very helpful! I got my Bragg's apple cider vinegar for like $7😰😱! I'll be sure to repurchase at TJ's in the future.
oh man, that is pricey..but that price at trader joe's is best in show ;)
I got huge ones at Costco but I don’t remember the price to know if it was a good deal.
In Argentina is not grass fed! The eat grains
LOVED YOUR VIDEO!! Yes, I would love to see an Aldi's and Walmart version. Also, thanks for getting kicked out of stores for our sake.
ha, you guys are worth it! Aldi coming next week ;)
Thanks, Bobby. Your videos are magnificent! You and Thomas DeLauer are by far the best on UA-cam. You, especially, are very friendly and informative and your delivery is on point. Thanks again.
I freaking love this store!!
Favorite place to shop
Yes please. Aldi and Walmart. Thank you Bobby!!! Also, 99 cents stores, Dollar Stores, Daiso and Miniso.
Please do a Walmart video!!! these are so helpful!
will do!
Yes! ALDI please!!! And mmmaybe Kroger? Thank you!!! 💙💙💙
I just discovered your videos. Thanks for all the information about what to buy and what not to buy at different stores. I can't wait to check out your recipes!
thanks sharon, lots of recipes for ya ;)
I died when he said. “ put all the hipsters ingredients on top “ 🤣
Damn I didn’t know they have canned Coconut milk 4 cooking!!! 👌🏼
I only use KERRYGOLD butter
I've heard that Kerrygold supplements with grains that are GMO!
The Norwegians use a light skimmed milk
to make their Jarlsberg cheese. Full of flavour and naturally very low in fat.
Carolanne Titmus did you just call Pecorino Romano “tasteless”?
@@kvf710 OH! no sorry about that...I was referring to those so called low fat Cheddar and low fat swiss....when you can buy fabulous cheeses that are naturally low in fat...love Pecorino Roamano...I can use my teeeth as a grater on a piece. lol!
Lolol ok good. I was about to be deeply offended! Haha. But yes, I agree with you.
@@kvf710 Katherine I am British where we know all about FULLFAT cheese.lol!
I lived in Texas a few years ago and I am soooo issing Pepper Jack!
Pepper Jack is amazing. We definitely have some tasty cheeses here. I’ve had some good English cheeses in the past! I just LOVE CHESSE! 😂
The only place I've found that beats Trader Joe's on macadamia nuts is publix , you get more for the price at publix but other than that Trader Joe's beats it on everything else
good to know!
“my daughter said to me it tasted good and asked about the ingredients” this is what I meant to say above.
Macadamia nuts just came back to Costco after I hadn't seen there in a while (work there). They're $19.99 for 24oz bag
wow..i gotta check that!
You are so worth watching. I didn’t know about 100% grass fed. It’s not so much that I’m into organic it’s the meat tastes like what my Dad used to raise when I was a kid. Especially chicken.
I'm at Trader Joes, pausing and searching for some of these items. Thanks! Great video...
Ha, I love that!! It’s like Trader Joe’s hunt and seek
@@BobbyParrish I have added the shopping list to my notes on my phone so I always have it.
Wow great video and very informative !!! I just subscribed because I can watch you all day! Keep up your good work!!!
you rock, thanks much!
You guys are AWESOME!!! I love all your videos!! Can you make a Whole Foods video? :)
Thanks for the love, Whole Foods haul for sure 😉
FlavCity with Bobby Parrish Yay!! 🙌🏻

Hmmmm, get ready to be kicked out of Whole Foods too.
The reason ... I have posted a reply with the reason to a comment up there.
Yes - WF. Target, too, please (which you mentioned in this video)
Wow ! This is eye opening ! Never knew about the "Grass fed " trick .. Thank you so much !
Please do an aldi haul! I never know what is good and not good products there!
will do!
Yes, please do more stores! Aldi and walmart would be great. Thank you for all the useful info!
Also, that keto pita looks amazing. I can't do dairy, however. Could you guys come up with a df pita?
thanks..Aldi is next ;)Try using grated vegan cheese that melts well ;)
Great Video!
I shop @ Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Costco, Sam's and WinCo every morning in Northern CA. Trader Joe's is such a happy/friendly place.
Every morning?! I thought I went to Trader Joe’s and grocery stores a lot!!
@@BobbyParrish All the grocery places are within 3 miles radius. Folsom, CA. We even have Sprouts right across from Trader Joe's. Quite convenient. I cook for a living, a one person kitchen, not a job anymore. I go to play with food every day!😀
D Heirloom My Trader Joe’s in WA State is a happy and friendly place too! They treat their people well, that makes a big difference.
D Heirloom My Trader Joe’s in WA State is a happy and friendly place too! They treat their people well, that makes a big difference. They seem tasked to help!
Good stuff...I don't frequent Whole Foods too much but you are changing my mind about what they have to offer.
Hey I love your videos and we want you to go to the front stores and tell us what's good thank you
Hello! I’m a new subscriber and you have changed my cooking game so far! I found you when I was looking up how to cook up chicken breasts without drying them out and you saved me with your 3 ways to make juicy chicken breast! One night ago I made your Moraccin chicken with roasted veggies and my husband about died it was so good so thank you so much! Please do an Aldi haul or shopping trip! We don’t have TD close to us, but do have Aldi!
oh wow..so glad you found me and have made my recipes! Thanks so much..will defo do an aldi haul soon ;)
*Gets told by a manager they can't film in the store*
"SECURITY KICKED US OUT"
I wonder if stores have any signs up with rules on whether or not one can film inside their establishment or maybe it's something covered under some type of commercial/private property law?
Use everything but the bagel seasoning when you make roasted cauliflower, it's awesome!
I would love to se a Walmart trip .
I 👌🏼❤️💓💞TRADER JOES!
I DO HATE CRAMPED UP WALMART & LOVE BREATHABLE SUPER CLEAN NOT CRAMPED UP with excellent customer service and prices TARGET👍🏼
Costco Canada still sells Chosen Foods Avocado oil!! :) Red Boat Fish Sauce is the best and NomNom Paleo approved.
nice, score one for canada!
Also California still has
I'm so appreciative of your gentlemens' videos. I'm learning so much. Mahalo!!
Store managment: he was doing good until he said don't buy or almond flour...get it at Costco.
SECURITY!!!!! Lol
These videos are a great idea! You make shopping a little easier for many people.
However, I would make sure to leave out certain comments - or research some nutrition facts - before leaving it in the video:
1. The cauliflower products are ALSO high in carbs because... they are made from cauliflower (contains 2/3rd the amount of carbs as wheat flour)
(My family owns a sugar house)
I hope this doesn't come off bad... Not trying to be a Dbag. I just want to provide the most accurate information as possible (just like you!).
Costco food items have too many artificial additives, preservatives, and so on. I think Trader Joe's has healthier foods.
i am not sure if that is true...costco just has way more items than trader joes!
Watching your vids late at nite isnt good for those snack cravings, ugh. Great info though. Thanks Bobby.
I doubt the spices at trader joes aren't fresh considering they're always selling out of everything and they stock product every single day. I think the supply and demand is too high for them to have old stuff.
Great video. Thanks for all the tips and helping to make shopping for healthy food easier and less expensive. We appreciate it!👍
thanks so much!!
Thanks for the info regarding Tahini.
My favorite stores are Trader Joe's and Sprouts. I will pay the extra to avoid trips to other grocery stores. Thank you for all the info!!!
Yes please do more stores it is so interesting and I love watching these videos!
Will do!! Follow me on the FlavCity instagram for lots more stories 🙌🏻
This was great. Where have you been hiding? Am subscribing right now. Thanks for the tips. Trader Joes is where I do my shopping. I didn't know about the grass/grain fed cows. Lots of helpful tips.
Been waiting for you to find us!! Glad yu enjoyed the trader joe's video ;)
