- Alright I finally got around to updating my bowgun sets for Title Update 4. Theres a lot of possible augment choices and skills that can even out and end up really similar to eachother. Thats just kind of the nature of this crazy RNG system we have, so there are a ton of options to get similar sets. I don't think there will ever be a be-all-end-all set just due to all the factors there are, especially if you want to take it speedrunning, each set needs to be tailored to each specific monster.
That being said, these are great baselines for gunners in TU4.
If you don't like to play with suicide sets, I highly recommend going for Blood Rite to sustain your HP, while still being able to use Resentment. You just don't need to use Dragonheart if thats the case, and you can use other attack skills instead.

I'll be honest these are some pretty wacky looking sets. Powder mantle is ungodly strong for bowguns because of how high our raw is and how quickly we can rack up the hitcount, especially on pierce. I think it's a must-have for raw bowgun. It's also very strange to see you recommending the Gaismagorm chest instead of the Risen Kushala chest.
Powder mantle only really makes a difference on pierce. It takes way too long on other ammos to activate, long enough to be a waste of skill slotting.
I’ll be honest you opinion is whacky. You have almost all dmg skills you can have with a perfect charm and best Augments available, in term of a rule based set up TA. But being a casual that you are shows what skills you want to use Powder Mantle that gives a chunk of dmg after many hits, that is only „good“ on a Piercing Build as a side skill not a main skill you priorities it procs from time to time is casual hunting or in anomaly research with friends, but using a Skill like Powder Mantle where time is key (again TA) and having a proc for like 1-2 times in a 2-4min fight is not worth it. So maybe think about what you write and in what cosmos you play.

@@xvelest I recently completed a Diablos TA run in 0:53. Dust Devil Despot's Diablos has 32,400 hp with min roll. I was able to proc powder mantle only once in that fight, but dealing approximately 800 damage means it dealt in the vicinity of 2.5% of the total damage.
I also completed Hazard Lucent TA in 1:53. Min roll is 63450 hp. Proccing powder mantle twice grants 1600 damage, ~2.5% total damage. Proccing a third time (very tight) grants ~3.7% total damage.
Both of these runs were using elemental HBG, which means they have a noticeably longer activation time than pierce HBG. Powder mantle is a priority offensive skill on pierce bowgun setups without a shadow of a doubt, and is a luxury offensive skill on elemental HBG. I anticipate spread HBG is somewhere in the middle.

@@Doron488 Good that you mention a Time, first of all congrats for the Western Record with HBG on that quest you the 2. fastest in the World on a TA Rule Set the only other person that beat that is a JPN Player with 0.45 and he doesn’t even plays Powder Mantle. Maybe consider that Powdermantle is not that great on Elemental HBG since the Proc Time of EleP is lower than Pierce in general. And ofc you can proc it only one time in that quest. About 5sec with Pierce 3 on to get 51hits of the monster with PM3 + 20sec until the Blue Aura Procs means you wasted 3 Skill Points for the half duration on that quest. that means my point is still in the room it is not worth it because it depends on how long the monster is and how fast you get the sweet spot for the shots to hit.
Around 800 per Explosion considering a 125% Motion Value on that specific Explosion that means you hat an attack value of ~600 with an HBG considering all the buff you normally have and being on Elemental and not RAW is funny to the whole dmg calculation because the HBG u playing has 445 RAW with Max Augment with the new System.
Which is still mysterious since I mention It you play on focus of the Elemental Value and not RAW Value the Explosion is based of you overall RAW.
32.400 - 800 = 31.600Hp
That means you total dmg of PM is 3.950% on that monster.
If you consider a normal Elemtal Shot dmg is round 130-160 depending on the min/maxing makes it max 2 Shots of you HBG that would Outnumber PM in just a few seconds. Which just proves my point that this skill is not with playing on a TA based rule set.

Sure, this set is hella powerful but that charm is what made me drop the Endgame of MH4U
Charms so specific and very rare that otherwise make the sets unplayable is literally no fun...
Ok so, these sets are the peak fo Gunner... But how many players will reach it (without cheats)?
@@ginkuro8789 Hey said you dont need the god charm, the Attack Boost is quality of life. Just get a Wex 2 or Spare shot 2 charm with some good slots and you can get very close. And the title updates have added a way to get more talismans that you want with the skills you want.

You know the best set in the entire franchise that makes you completely immortal while also giving you infinite stamina and it only deals like 12 less element than dereliction and let’s you run mail of hellfire without any restrictions?
World gunner trying to get into gunning sunbreak for pc super confused, understandably seeing is I’m getting into it at the later end of the expansion. Why would you have mail of hail fire and dereliction in the same set? One buff raw on red scroll and ther other buffs raw on blue?

They all eat the same. Dango marksman, temper, and booster. But make sure to use steadiness to accommodate for the bullet deviation on Dango temper.
I've just started with anomalies so still learning but was hoping for some tips towards more survival or comfy gameplay until I master avoiding all monster moves

Ok so why am I reading Dereliction + Mail of Hellfire for Raw builds in your TU4 list? They are opposite for raw with blue/red scrolls.
Now I may have not played since TU1 and am refreshing myself on stuff, but wasn't Dereliction/MoH combo only for elemental Bow/bowgun? Just seems needless for raw.

If I’m not mistaken, don’t MoH and Dere conflict on raw setups? You either need to be in red for MoH raw boost or blue for Dere raw boost, you can’t have both active for raw at the same time since the elemental portion of the other one won’t benefit raw gunning, right? Which would mean that augmenting for MoH is a waste
Yeah I had the same confusion too when watching the video. MoH and dereliction does have raw boost on differing scroll
It's due to the usage of redirection, that way you arent losing that much when you counter a move. Personally I'd far rather skip direlection entirely, losing health constantly steals the fun for me.
@@slayer31397 yes, for HBG....but LBG? Even for HBG, running dere AND redir will lose you damage since you will lose dere bugs when you scroll swap, even with redir
@Cosmin Pislariu Right, but MOH is instant vs. Direlection, which takes 30 seconds. If you skip Direlection, and even redirection you can have 100% uptime and use evade extender to slide dodge instead. These builds are good for damage but mediocre for QOL. I say pick and choose what works best for you
Also, as far as LBG is concerned I say just add the T to the end cause I would never use that gay ass weapon over HBG lol 🤣 just a joke though, use what you like

It works. It still feels worse than Iceborne I don't know if it's the shield itself or monster hitboxes but I've had a few "wtf" moments where I get one shot on an attack I should have blocked.
Dodge/counter charger like a man dont run shields on spread hbg

@Prophetic Rain-Maker, it's because of the 180 degree shield block for me. Tigrex runs over the top of you, then hits you in the back when he turns to do it again. On top of that, if you begin charging a shot, the shield is ignored. I prefer evade extender 2 on my HBG setups for easy dodging. Redirection is still a nice panic ability
Why does the Imgur images of the RF Elemental LBG haves max builds without Rapid Fire? How the hell was it possible to fit all that? is that just example as a PC player if it's max with mods? It was very hard to even get Furious on 3 pieces, that Skill is a low chance of getting.

I have tried to max my elemental resist using gems, but it doesn’t seem to add much elemental damage
Two different things, you need to look for the decorations for each specific element attack up ex.bolt jewel for thunder attack I believe they all have 5-6 levels not 100% sure right this second

Why moh and dereliction for raw?
Isnt it becus:
1) Dereliction (Red) is Raw + Element ; but blue is Same Amount of Raw but more stun
2) MoH (Red) is 15 raw for Negative defense
Ithink the idea is to keep playing in Red scroll so that you gain Raw
@@death14ism No, dereliction give element only on red scroll and in the vid u see hes playing raw on blue scroll which mean mail of hell fire would be giving element damage and dereliction would give raw

Actually, I just thought of something about Dragon Conversion + Dragonheart.
If we convert during Dragonheart state (the all res = 50), then we heal back up, will it still keep the element buff? Since the conversion isn't "always retroactive" but only upon entering hunt/swap to red.
I have tested it. If you heal up more than dragon heart hp requirement your element buff are gone.

yea you shoot all your dragon ammo and the Monster Hunter Rise monsters still have 90% of their hp, YEP
@@Medik_ have you seen the 1.5 minute speedrun of the final boss using dragon ammo? Just came out yesterday.
@@imahaloguy Are you only speedrunning the final boss? When you're playing the actual content of the game, the high level anomalies, you're doing like 1/10 of their hp. Maybe Rathian or Rathalos with perfect rng you'll get some worthwhile damage before doing the walk of shame back to camp to restock.
@@Medik_ has it been investigated? If it can kill giasmagorn with just dragon ammo in 1.5 minutes, then maybe other monster too
@@imahaloguy Gaismagorm has 76k hp, anomalies at high levels past 120, the monsters are pushing 100k+ hp. There is only a handful of monsters that are as weak to dragon as Gaismagorm and Gaismagorm also has a huge body for dragon ammo to perform basically at 100%. There is no way for dragon ammo go through a hunt without restocking many times, not even counting if you miss on every monster that moves more than Gaismagorm. Outside of a one off burst on Rathian or something, it's not worth using dragon ammo.

This is a guide made for modders only, useless for all switch players and also useless for casual hunts. Dunno man, miss you when you took things both ways, because these sets are impossible to make or even come close to by normal players and ignore every single bit of devensive skills like evade extender. I close to nothing out of it because of how high the floor is for non modders.
Tbh they do state that these sets are speedrun centered just cut dmg skills where needed for survivability
The new augments from tu4 are not that hard to get tbh.
@@rawrshark9840 It's not about that, just try to do one of those sets, you can't fit half those skills because non cheating augmentation is 1 skill more from each slot only. You can't possibly add them all without modding your equipment, that's the shitty part.
@@MrCharly780 It's gotten to the point where you can't have your hand held to make sets. You gotta make your own choices based on what you have, chief. Maybe you can't get Elemental Crit? Go for Raw Boosting)Element Boosting/Dragon Conversion, and one point of Burst and E.E
I play on Switch, and I can make all the raw sets listed, and make sets that are relativistic to the Elemental Bowguns as well. It's not that hard.
