Chase Smith (@fishchaseflies) creator of the Spiral Spook demonstrates how to fish the fly and offers a few tips and tricks to keep in mind when fishing the Spiral Spook.
I use the smallest spook you offer. On a 5wt 8’ fiberglass rod. I paint the spook in dark color/black with hints of orange. I do so for the massive stonefly hatch that happens early summer here in Colorado. The Salmonfly aka Stonefly are very large bugs almost exceeding the 3” mark. Big bugs are clumsy flyers and often end up in the water if so much as a breeze blows by. It is an incredible experience and I appreciate the product that you guys came up with!
I grew up mostly bass fishing, specifically creek smallmouth. My forever and all time favorite lure is the Heddon Zara Spook. To see these in a fly pattern blows my mind and can NOT wait to get mine delivered!
