      But he says one thing one minute and another the next minute. He has always been like that. I have seen interviews where he says he hates all music and nothing at all is good music. On another he says he only likes reggae and Iggy Pop the rest is rubbish. But then in his book he says he likes Hawkwind, The Kinks, The Doors, The Slits and a fair few more. He changes his mind more than he changes his hair style.

    John hit the nail on the head with this one. Kate's voice was unlike anything before or since, but somehow she made it work and has touched people with all sorts of musical tastes. That's a true artist. It's hard to believe Britain was falling in love with Kate around the same time they were going crazy for The Pistols.

      He sometimes gave us a lift back to Kent from Plumstead-Such a nice man! + sometimes said hello to Hannah as well and she would make us massive jug of orange squash + met Kate/Del Palmer few times etc

    There are times that Lydon is so full of himself that I can't help but dislike him. Then there are times like this where he feels like a brother in arms. Anyone that loves Kate Bush can at least be said to have a soul and a brain.

      That's always been the allure and charm of John Lydon. You can be disgusted by him one moment, then fascinated and agreeing with him the next. Or even in the same breath. He's a one of a kind, and that's really what punk was meant to be anyway.

    • @LividImp
      @LividImp 4 роки тому +8

      @@jessewoody5772 Most real punks are regarded this way. It is what happens when you cast off the sugar coating and just tell people what you are really thinking, good, bad or indifferent. Real punks learn to live amongst people they don't like, and that don't like them. Norms never learn to take criticism, and have an incessant need to be loved by everyone. Thus they regard anyone that isn't brown-nosing them as an "asshole".

    John shows once again, there´s is more depth to him than he´s given the credit for. Here, he´s a proper gentleman. but then again he is talking about Kate Bush - a lady - she´s definitely not working class, but nor is John´s wife, Nora -she´s from the German upper middle classes. But then John was never very critical of - and always very polite to - women as a whole.

      What has class to do with anything? Speaking ill, or well, of a person is about the speaker as much as the individual in question. John is right, Kate is very talented; but it has little to do with her privilege and everything to do with herself as a musician. If you are suggesting working class women cannot be ladies, think again.

    Jon is incapable of liking bullshit. I grew up a metal fan in the 80's but would secretly borrow my mums Kate Bush records as you just can't deny her immense talent. I watched the documentary on her and she's worshipped by musicians from practically every genre of music. Even in Elton John's wedding party where as you can imagine it's pretty much star studded, nearly every major celebrity at the party asked Elton if he could introduce them to Kate Bush
