seriously...came here to say the purest thing i've seen in a while and i ❤ it so much...kate bush completely deserves it too. can we get some 👏🏻 for St. Vincent as well? damn, that was 🙌🏻
So cool that they got Big Boi to do this. He has actively been supporting her for so long that it feels like as much of an honor for him as it is for her.
I was only a casual Outkast fan back in the day but have been a huge Kate fan since the first time I heard her. It was quite a surprise to see Big Boi induct her - nice to find out he's such a fan.
I was 18 when I heard Wuthering Heights and I was hooked. There's a reason most musicians can't re-work a Kate Bush song; she was so ahead of her time in experimenting with harmonies and sound that the final version was probably the best version that they could produce...thank you Dave Gilmour
Exactly. Anyone whining about Kate bush being in the hall must consider David Gilmore being a part of the KB thing. He wouldn't have been there if it wasn't epic.
I was 15 and my parents gave me so much grief (good hearted), it was untrue. I remain a huge fan today pretty much 45 years later (wow, that really hurt ha ha ). Of course, I should have said.... Wow, wow, wow, wow.... Unbelievable 🤣🤣.
Kate deserves every bit of recognition given to her and more, though I think there are so many super talented artists, and the 80s were something special too. Her stuff can't really be reworked because she gave it her all. When the emotion can't be replicated, that says a lot.
There is no more perfect person to pay tribute to Kate Bush than St. Vincent!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait for Anne to get her own nomination
I absolutely love Outkast and Kate Bush, but not until right now did I know that Big Boi even knew her music let alone that he adores her like that. I love it!
There’s a really awesome Kate bush doco on UA-cam which he features on. Sorry I can’t remember the name of it but he says so much more on it. He’s awesome 😊
Wow, St. Vincent! She did it justice and that’s no easy feat. I remember seeing an interview with Big Boi years ago and he showed some of his favorite records. The first one he pulled out was Kate Bush, the second was Pink Floyd - I was gobsmacked. I loved the fact that her music is so transcendent, and that Big Boi clearly has impeccable taste in music. ✨💖✨
It’s amazing how notes from music can cut like a blade through your soul and artist like sweet Kate Bush can gather them up in sonic shapes and arrange them for you to hear. Love you Kate!❤ thank you for your artistry.😊
Picked up my kids one day, had the radio on a 70's, 80's, & 90's station. Running up that hill came on, and my kids, who are 14 & 10 starting singing it word for word. Astonished, I asked them how can you guys know this song, it's old. They said Stranger Things TV show. Incredible that today, a TV show can bring back a classic and make it a hit all over again for a new generation.
I’m voting and instigating for St. Vincent to get Outkast back together and premier on their album. Damn that would be cool. Andre 3000 flute in hand with some fuzzed out edgy guitar mixed with some of the most elegant, raw and relatable slickly spit bars would be heaven sent…and I’m not even religious. Thanks to Big Boi for being so cool and inducting this brilliant artist.
How I so dearly miss that era of everything was new and we didnt know what wonders were ahead of us. How privileged I feel to have witnessed an era of music unparalleled in its reach to present day. There wasnt a single young man like myself didnt fall in love with Kate, and I was into everything then. I hope for the coming generations they have their decade of legendary times.
St. Vincent …. Been buying her music for about 5 years and this was the first time I have ever seen her perform! Spot on and respectful cover…. Just breathtaking!
This is fantastic. Love the hip hop connections, and it's bringing me back to high school, when me and my friends were obsessed with Kate lol. St Vincent really did the cover justice. ❤❤🔥
LOVE Babooshka and Wow! too, and yeah so many other great songs, but RUTH is getting big now because of Stranger Things; though it's always been covered. Have always loved Placebo's version of it, and more recently Meg Myers'.
Well deserved for a brilliant song writer and singing artist to boot. I have all the albums from the beginning and she is my all time favourite Womens Singer. Looking forward to any new album in the future. My only regret is never seeing her perform Live
Big Boi turned me on to the song Cloudbusting and it blew my mind. Not to mention his work in the group Big Grams shows his deep appreciation for alternative female artists
Oh my word. I've followed Annie for some years now and she's never sounded like more herself whilst like I've never heard her before. This is a tribute. And wow that band and backing singers - extraordinary feels like too tame of a word - they are absolutely epic. What an induction!
Grateful to have stumbled on to this. I’ve watched maybe 15 times over the last month. It brings tears to the eyes. Very moving performance of a very interesting song.
Kate Bush - Reality Music before anyone else thought of reality anything and made money from it. Raw life and reality in every lyric. Genius nothing else to say.
This is amazing, I discovered Kate Bush in 2016 after a bad car accident and I am still alive thanks to Don't Give Up and every day I listen to Wedding List.
A shame that Kate didn’t perform herself but we all know how shy she is of public appearances. Still, this is a very faithful rendition and I’m sure she’s honoured to finally be a R&RHOF inductee 🤩
I remember buying the 12" Maxi Single of this, back in 1985!! In 2022, a show called "Stranger Things," played this, and it went running right back up the charts again! So glad a new generation of listeners got to enjoy this song. If you can get your hands on that 1985 Epic Records 12", you'll love this song even more! Amazing, in almost 40 years, I've never heard this song live! Congrats Kate!
Kate Bush : Best singer and songwriter ITW, since a lot of years, nobody can't fight her, the Queen of Queens, Her music will last for centuries, she's all.
This recognition for Kate is well deserved. She has and continues to pleasantly altered oh so many ears and lives. Thankyou Kate. I cherish your life's body of work.

Faithful but pretty kareoke rendition. Enjoyed it nonetheless because as soon as that melody plays... When I heard Big Boi referencing Kate Bush as an influence many years ago it made me fall in love with Outkast all over again. Love the connection. Glad she has this recognition, but she doesnt need it.
It sort of feels like listening to my thoughts running around insides and landscapes of home - it's so beautiful this song. Here's to many nights dancing and running around with my friends. AND it's amazing Kate got inducted into the hall of fame she is a genius of course. And Big Boi is the perfect person to do it. Outkast music is so inventive and awesome.
i was so worried she might not be able to pull off the vocals for this (because who could but kate bush ???) but she really nailed, it, she should be proud. i bet kate bush would be chuffed
I grew up listening to her as s kid. So many unbelievable songs and she has inspired so many genres of music and musicians. John Lydon aka Johny Rotten from The Sex Pistols and PIL. Countless Rock n Roll bands. Futureheads cover of Hounds of Love is superb. Placebo Peter Gabriel, David Gilmour, countless artists. Kelly Rowland I could go on and on. And obviously Big Boi who has spoken about her and his love for her music for years. A genuine original talent and deserved inductee
Fantastic performance by St. Vincent of an amazing song. The album this comes from, Hounds of Love, is a total masterpiece and the second half of this album, a sort of concerto entitled The Ninth Wave, is one of the most disturbing pieces of music I've heard. If you haven't dipped into this album, I urge you to do so.

Love Big Boi introducing. He’s been a vocal fan for a long time

Annie is gorgeous but have you listened to Tori Amos’ covers of Kate Bush? 🙏 Tori is the Goddess
@@iz6566 I haven't! I love Tori, will definitely track those down
you need to get your hearing tested ...
Meg Myers does a great version.
Or anna calvi
St. Vincent looks gorgeous and what a great tribute to Kate Bush! She also rocked the Nirvana tribute when she played with them 10 years ago as well!
..yeah, the Nirvana tribute was WOW.
That was 10 years ago?!?!?! GOD I'm old :(
meh

Shocked me too, but most rappers are fairly cultured. The ones I know listen to Rachmaninoff and tchaikovsky. Crazy vut true.
Wow, St. Vincent! She did it justice and that’s no easy feat.

Big Boi's intro and admiration was so good. St Vincents performance was on point and so faithful!
Woman’s Work and her collab with Peter Gabriel in Don’t Give Up were my introduction to Bush. Her voice pierces your heart.
She nailed it like a girl who's been singing that in her bedroom since she was twelve ❤
Yeah. There's a reason why little girls in bedrooms aren't recorded...
@SpaceCattttt what on earth does that have to do with anything 😒
Yes, she sure did🖤

Great intro from Big Boi. Music transcends all things. Love St Vincent too!
You can tell in Annie's eyes how much she LOVES Kate.
agreed and this is not an easy song to pull off.
Lol
