The thing about John Lydon is that yeah, he can be caustic at times, but the real man is an incredibly good person. He cares deeply about everyone and wants to reach the people he thinks matters, not media people, not rock stars, just everyday people. He is extremely intelligent, compassionate and does not suffer stupidity well at all.
I like his "warts and all" approach and his sense of priority - his life is his art and he has respect for art - what it represents and how he always try to connect with his own truth. He's paid his dues and he's still fighting the good fight and his thoughts and opinions remain valid, interesting and, most importantly, provocative and inspired - a good guy!
John's absolutely fascinating to watch as well as listen to. Can't say I understand Punk but as he explains himself ( in other interviews) you can clearly get what he says. Agree with him or not he's certainly extremely intelligent, extremely funny/witty and deserves all the credit for who he is. Whenever I watch something on the Sex Pistols I'm reminded so much of the movie " Spinal Tap" . I think with PIL he came into his own and is brilliant as a musician/ singer/ writer where Sex Pistols were basically shock value. As defensive as he can sometimes be the biggest kudos is his relationship with his dear and beautiful wife Nora and what they are sadly going through. He can be completely brutal but when you see him with Nora or hear him talk about her his shield is completely down and you see a guy who is utterly, completely in love like a smitten teenager. Their love affair is a beautiful story in itself and can't imagine the pain John must be going through.. She's lucky to have found him as much as he's certainly fortunate to have her in his life.
i love john, and therse many reasons why i enjoy watching him weather its in interveiws or on stage performing his music,,,its called,,, real,,, plain and simple,,, so much more i could say but i dont need to,
Been following this bloke from Pistols 1977/ PIL etc etc. What ever all the things and slaggings off people give him, one thing is for sure, he is a good man......
''...a mother eating her child.'' I'd have thought that was the perfect subject for someone wanting to get into art school? The Dada-ists and Surrealists weren't PRETTY. The examiner must've been really poncy.
John Lydon is a great artist 👩🎨, you should see the art he did at there old rehearsal space on Denmark street in the 70’s it’s still their, that will be worth $ when he’s gone
Hugh jears has a great book about the Art and goes into great detail on some of the more iconic pieces on the wall. There's a particularly good review in the guardian by Eileen dover worth checking out
Yet his Pistols band mates are all millionaire's, cause they wrote the music and the money's in the royalties, it's not selling out, they made records and you get paid royalties
Love the guy and his work but drop all the "honest guy" bs. His first book was a 40% act of revisionism. His recent book was a 60% act of revisionism. He contradicts himself every time he opens his trap and tells numerous versions of the same story. Can't argue with the music though. Metal Box, Album, That What is Not, Psycho's Path - masterpieces! And the most recent PIL album is the best yet.
Yawn with the death penalty story. I think you're a great watch John but you do get a bit tiresome with the I'm ace,I'm hard,I'm the only smart guy around shtick sometimes.
Don't drink on tour eh John? So I suppose that bottle of brandy you were swigging from on stage in Barcelona last year was full or water right? Which bit was the bullshit, what you said here, or posing as drinking on stage?
So I'm getting the impression that since 1977, Lydon has made a living by taking the piss out of people who pay him to do nothing and for this he's a legend?!?! Oh dear.
His face still reveals its boyish charm even with the disadvantages of age. I think he has changed unfortunately into a particular type of person he used to disregard with scorn

I think most people see that but well said
He's a Legit Punk Rocker
This dude is one of our MOST honest and intelligent celebritiesof all time. AND a great sense of humor to boot!!
I love John. He is everything the world is lacking nowadays. That is honesty, being genuine & straight talking. Love ya John.
johnny lydon...he's simply himself at all times. Everyone should respect that
I love this guy! Im 18 metalhead but also a great punk fan! and this is my favorit guy in history!
it was so good to see more of his drawings, being a artist myself, seeing his drawings and doodles(in psycho's path) is always a joy
I like his "warts and all" approach and his sense of priority - his life is his art and he has respect for art - what it represents and how he always try to connect with his own truth. Johnny Rotten is a living legend influenced so many
Yes. Johnny Rotten was: not Lydon
I really like Johnny Lydon. He is open, honest, funny and is to the point.
john is too cool for art school! they couldnt handle his realism anyhow.
I'm glad to have grown up listening to John.
He speaks from the heart
Wow, nothing gets past him. He has people's numbers spot on.
Absolute legend..
He always out so much into his minutes, says more in a few seconds than most do in a lifetime.
Bleeping out John Lydon simply shows a massive misunderstanding of what John Lydon means.

john lydon 4 ever
Very clever is our Johny. That surprised a lot of people.
Been following this bloke from Pistols 1977/ PIL etc etc. What ever all the things and slaggings off people give him, one thing is for sure, he is a good man......
“I’m never gonna be a sell out…”
I love you John but the butter ads?
"EVER HAD THE FEELING YOU HAVE BEEN HAD"
Brilliant excellent art work
''...a mother eating her child.'' I'd have thought that was the perfect subject for someone wanting to get into art school? The Dada-ists and Surrealists weren't PRETTY. The examiner must've been really poncy.
I would be happy if my kids turned out as Clever as him ;)
I do like this guy.Clever man ..
Not many like John left in entertainment.
your the best John, you really are mate
Funny Fucker never dissopoints me lol
Icon against the bullshit . There's only one John Lydon.
LEGEND

Those walls he drew on are now on the National Heritage Register.
@@millymeridan4521 I read a book called Death on a Cliff by Eileen Dover...
he's adorable :3
he doesn't like to be called johnny, he likes to be called john.
HIS ART! It's amazing! :D Still really good!
And if he would be a sell out, I wouldn't respect him anymore.
You are over thinking this one, DUDE!!!!
Overthinking and dude in the same sentence. Oxymoron?
If it weren’t for priests John’d have probably sung like Peter Andre
Overplays the whole death penalty with the Traitors and Treasons act thing, like he was actually in danger.
At the time, he may have believed it.
Whoooosh
Not that it matters, but I wonder if Mr Lydon is on the ASD spectrum
Love PIL and love listening to him
"The working class has spoke"
A man of way above average intelligence
Was that 'some Lydon notes'?
THE LAST 20 SECONDS OF THE INTERVIEW...WERE THE INTERVIEW.
Dear John,
i would like to be
your personal
spliff roller.
Nice. Well done.
Drink is... a matter od definition. He does drink, he also does drink alcohol...
But... never to excess anymore as you can see on his gigs.
I'm a tad confused why are you quoting him then?
He was in jail in Ireland for 24 hrs!
How many were there ever?
Who knows. That you ask the question shows...not many.
Congratulations on your immense intelligence and wit - you'll go far :-)
I can respect this.
Bless you johnny 🇮🇪🇬🇧✌️🙏😉
No light of Christ in their religious darkened souls 😂👍 're priests etc
Anyone get his fax number ?
Ive seen him take a swig of brandy, gargle it and spit it into a bucket. but drinking wise thats about it
Who are all these people pontificating about Johnny? What have they done that is so beyond reproach? Please, do us all a favor and get a life.
What a wonderful human being, don't you want your kids to turn out like him?
To this day, not sold out. Look up his net worth. The grandfather of punk is worth less than a million.
Yet his Pistols band mates are all millionaire's, cause they wrote the music and the money's in the royalties, it's not selling out, they made records and you get paid royalties
❤️
nice one geez.
Exactly.
My.
Point.
@1Atomtan Probably none my friend... ;(

😊👍♥️

Lydon is most definitely NOT a 'dude'...
Oh without question he is the coolest man on earth
oaky, just a limey then?
to make a point about his double standards - and that I feel cheated by him and his hypocrisy
0:01 death note L
So I'm getting the impression that since 1977, Lydon has made a living by taking the piss out of people who pay him to do nothing and for this he's a legend?!?! Oh dear.
PIL is nothing?🤔
This is SAD!!!!!!
Bollocks he doesn't drink on tour! I've seen loads of his gigs where he's been drinking beer and Brandy.
pretty sure that John is only gargling on the Brandy to ease his vocal chords..
His face still reveals its boyish charm even with the disadvantages of age. I think he has changed unfortunately into a particular type of person he used to disregard with scorn
