I know this is a lot different than what's currently on the channel - this show isn't REPLACING videos of the past. It will be in ADDITION to normal vids. UA-cam has steadily made some changes to their ecosystem so that every channel can have a designated podcast playlist. And in theory it will keep things nice and tidy. So that's where these video pods will live for the moment, but I'm experimenting. I may remove this podcast from this channel here if it's not as nice of an experience as I would like🤷🏻‍♂

The "dog shit" thing is bang on. I tried a travel vlog channel in 2017 and made a few videos but... yeah, the videos weren't good. And I was able to smell that dog shit too. I didn't know where to take the channel, so I stopped. It was a good experience anyway and was quite the eye opener of how much work goes into making vlogs.

Good on you for trying! Haha it's all hard, I probably won't feel better about putting these out until episode 5 or 10 if I make it. I just wish more of the standard advice was "just start/then just don't stop" but also "prepare mentally to receive almost zero traction or feedback at first. Potentially for a long time."
Turns out, it's difficult to be inexperienced in filming, and in editing, and speaking to the camera (and potentially ALSO the topic of your channel too, photography for me here) THEN find the courage to hit upload AND have it turn out well 😅

I think one of the reasons why people hesitate is because they're afraid of receiving feedback because they're likely adults who feel they're supposed to be good right away. Or they don't know how to receive and handle feedback. I used to be like that. But I learned to view feedback as INFORMATION. You can't get that golden information without having things to receive feedback on.

This, and probably because sometimes internet feedback is quite hateful.

I appreciate your candid approach. It was naturally awkward at first but I can see you settling into your stride by the end of the podcast.
I’m a year into my own photography career journey and your channel has been a huge encouragement to me! I appreciate your style and work!
    Belated congratulations on 2,500 subs!

Thanks so much, appreciate the feedback, and love to hear you're starting out! And don't worry, as soon as I'm more comfortable I'll still be keeping it awkward intentionally for the lols

Good job Dan, we will follow you. Congrats.
Did you end up buying the 70-200 F2.8 for indoor sports or still using the F4 version?

Appreciate you sticking around! I just replied on the f2.8 vs f4 review vid, but still using the f4 🙌
