What screen recording software are you using?
Screen Studio! It's linked, but they have recently raised prices a bit. Super slick, and I've used it to spruce up a few paid projects, so I've switched to that over OBS.
I noticed the cursor smoothing right away and was like this looks slick!
@@jessejayphotography It feels purpose built for tutorial-like vids haha
I've got the 24-50 - got it with my RP. Its not a HUGE drama, for me, at least, to have that twist-start. I'd much rather have a... normal, lens, but its not a deal-breaker. Cost is more important to me than a twist start. QUESTION: I'm contemplating selling my RP and going for an R6 or R6ii, would you do that? Thanks! 🤙
Interesting... def hoping they make a tiny F4 or F2.8 version of that one. This is one of those sticker questions for anyone to truly answer but you. Things I'd be considering - hidden cost of buying memory cards in dupe (if you plan to, I did in my RP > R6 jump). Hidden cost of bigger batteries. Hard? to find R6 new if you're into that. R6iii rumors are heating up... R6ii could drop even further early next year. If you want to use your current batteries or like the current form factor, then the R8 actually blends the best of both worlds. Resale of RP will be pretty low, so will R6, and the R6ii is also gonna take a hit very soon. If you're into 4k video, want the form factor, weather sealing, ibis, etc. RP > R6 was a game changing jump for me at the exact time I was ready to put the effort in to grow into it. However, there's still a lot I could technically be shooting on the RP even today. And I loved the R8 for the year I had it. Personally, I'd wait to see what the R6iii looks like/R6ii prices fall to. And if I was doing any long-form video or hot weather shooting, I'd pass over the R6 (those are still my biggest gripes around it).
@DanYosua thank you! Your answers are always so detailed - I truly appreciate all the effort you go to. Main reasons I'd be switching is a) weather sealing (NZ weather is wild) b) faster shutter speeds, c) IBIS. I don't really care about duel card slots, but I am slightly concerned about the megapixels on the r6i
@@jessezee.official No problem! 20 vs 24 mp feels pretty similar to me. When I want more it's usually when shooting with the 100-400. I tried the R7 for a month, and that finally felt like a little more breathing room at 32. If think you can live with 20, the storage benefit is nice. Haha I'll miss that if I upgrade to more in the future.
@@DanYosua Interesting! I'll wait and see about an r6iii, and maybe get a rental for a few months and see how I like the r6ii.
Loving this style video! And yes, I would be great for the podcast. 🎙️
Sweet, appreciate the feedback!
Great video! Always loved how your edits look.
Thanks! These are relatively tame ones, but I would love to get some of these types of vids out, in between the highly edited ones, if people dig em.
@@DanYosua Not sure about what others think but I'm all for this type of content! It's a nice relaxing pace in such a hectic world nowadays. Not too slow and not too fast. Your vids literally feels like a breath of fresh air. Hope the youtube algo picks up your channel man. You seriously deserve it!
@@hz9435 Really appreciate the feedback - this is the type of thing that's hard for me to know just by looking at the numbers. I've liked making the higher effort, more polished vids, but they take a long time to come together. An interesting combo that I want to explore more is matching those polished uploads with one of these, pulling a few shots from the other vids.
UPDATE: Just pulled the plug and bought this one - I'm so exited to finally be getting my dream lens. Your video helped me so much in picking which one to buy. 😁 It'll be great having a long lens for New Zealand in the New Year.
Congrats! Travel safe and enjoy it down there, it'll be an unforgettable experience!
The RF 50 1.2 will possibly go down as my favorite lens of all time. People always say "there isn't much of a difference between 1.8 & 1.2" but there is. The RF 50 1.2 is incredibly sharp wide open, however the nifty fifty even though it shoots at 1.8, it isn't sharpest at 1.8, which means you are stopping down even further. I use it for weddings and portraits thought primarily. For a travel lens I would probably go with something less heavy and more versatile. But still one of my favorite lenses of all time.
The sharpness wide open is special, and if I was doing any kind of weddings or event work, the f1.2 would be lovely late in the day. I'm excited to see if the f1.4 hits the sweet spot when I finally get hands on.
Great vid Dan! Your views are looking good and I bet this vid got good watch time. I sold my 50 1.8 RF for more than what I paid for it a few months ago. I didn't realize the 1.4 was on the horizon when I sold the 1.8. That being said....I pre-ordered the 50 1.4. I love my 24-70 2.8, but there are times in interviews where I am looking for more subject isolation so I'll see if this hits the bill.
Thanks! Haha excellent flip on your side it sounds like. What's shipping look like, still mid-December? Will be curious to hear your thoughts on it when you get it. I feel like the year is running away on me... hoping to try it early next year at this point.
What focal length did you shoot the bunnies at?? 🐰 1:43 is a sick shot
85mm! It kept darting toward me so close that I think it was closer than the minimum focus distance 😂Thanks, the dunes are a wild place.
Hey Dan! I recommend changing the title of this video to "How to Start a Video Podcast for Beginners - COMPLETE GUIDE". As this is what people type in the search bar, with this title your video has a higher chance of being discovered.
I'll give it a go, thanks for the suggestion!
Would you buy a used EF mount version for $130? I have the Canon 85 1.8 EF but am considering adding this lens.
That sounds like a steal perhaps, but I have no idea how those EF versions compare. Is there something specific for you're hoping in the switch? I'm personally trying to steer clear of EF. I still use the 28mm Sigma EF very often, so it's less of a performance preference for me, and more of a "I want to get more modern glass in case I sell it later"
The DS looks a bit like the fake bokeh on smartphones.
Hmm. That's interesting, but kinda resonates now that you say it. To give it credit, it does that "look" incredibly naturally, in-camera. This is even a pricey rental, but I've been waiting to give it another go on a project now that it's been years. Are you considering either currently?
@ I just ordered the non-ds, I wanted the 1.2 light and the standard looking bokeh humans are used to see on professional photos since forever.
Sadly in Canada we're stuck with a $270 f1.8, a $2000 1.4, or $3000 f1.2. I had hoped the 1.4 was sub $1000 CAD. All this hybrid shooting business is annoying for someone who does predominantly stills. Starting to wish I had gone Sony.
I had a little hope that it would match the msrp of the 100mm macro at $1,199 but no such luck 😕 There are several lenses I'd love to try over there too... this one for sure, but also things like the 20mm, 20-70mm, and the new 16-25mm and 24-50mm. The list goes on...
Yup, it's stupid really
2:30 Love that blush of color. Goes to show how much the light can change and how fast. I didn't have time on my trip for the Sand Dunes in Colorado, just another reason to go back!
I felt panicked in the dunes at sunset haha. Everything was looking spectacular in every single direction and the light and shadows were moving fast! I feel like it's just far enough from Denver to be a hassle to get to. Or not a hassle necessarily, but easy to put off, and not along 70 if headed east to west.
Hey Dan, great video, great shots, and great message! It was nice meeting you at Chasm lake!
Ditto, and thanks for stopping in here! Still trying to get back up there with the 28mm... got sidelined with the weather these last few weeks.
Nice mannnnn 🏆
Trying out something a little different!
Magnifique ! bravo. Pictures, sounds and song : miam.
Glad you enjoyed!
I visited great sand dunes in 2009 and my brothers canon powershot (i forgot the model) still has sand in it.
😳 I may have sand in my tripod forever. Thankfully the camera and lenses seem fine 🤞 just made sure to brush and blow off the gaskets before swapping and stuff.
Danny Yo with the heat! Great way to start the day. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
you’re right, i absolutely should, this advice probably applies to most people
Indeed. It's advice we all know, but sometimes I've glazed over it looking for a shortcut 😅
Great Photos! What’s the name of the song?
"Chasing Horizons" by Charlie Ryan! Had a good vibe as I was trying to pick a mood.
$3k for a lens is outrageous 😭but I am glad the 50mm 1.4 finally made its way to the rf mount
It is a LOT
I still don't get "video-focused" without IS.
It seems more about the breathing, power zoom compatibility, and similar sizes and weights for ease of gimbal use. So video-focused, but not really including the run and gun use case that I assume most photo-first shooters would value.
5:27 I believe they do work with older bodies in video mode, but not photo mode
Ooo, nice. The one scenario where I think I'd actively use it in photo mode would be on something like an R8 or RP. I don't use the control rings all that often, but that ring would be close enough to my supporting hands that I would rearrange the other two dials for ISO/shutter.
Gotta say ... after the 1.4 was announced, I went to the store and held the 35 vcm (which has the same weight and size as the 50 and 24)in hand next to my 50 1.2 ... and the weight difference wasn't as perceivable as you'd believe on paper. The 1.2 is a much chunkier lens still, but the 1.4 is exact same lens. Overall the lens package was not as different as I would've thought. For me who already owns the 1.2, I'm not sure if I want to keep my preorder for the 1.4 or cancel. If you don't already own the 1.4, it's a no brainer almost. The 1.4 is also optically better per reviews, although the 1.2 might end up having more character - but I've yet to see any reviewer do a side by side of them.
Thanks for sharing that... I'll keep my expectations in check haha. If you remember to revisit this comment, it would be cool to hear which you end up keeping. Any chance you keep both and compare for a time period?
I love the vibe of your videos. You’re so well spoken, and I feel you can carry an hour long podcast on your own. Keep it up!
I appreciate it! Haha there's a lot of editing/condensing to try to keep it moving. What are you shooting lately?
@ Mainly college sports, so for the most part it’s hard to relate to your work, but I definitely feel the struggle with trying new gear, but not fully committing to purchasing anything expensive. This channel feels like a hidden gem where there is a Canon creator who can’t quite afford (or isn’t sent) the latest and greatest stuff from the manufacturer, but still is making content on/with Canon gear.
Oh nice! Something I've wanted to shoot for a long time is hockey, but I haven't made much time for breaking into it. And idk if I'll be good enough for Canon themselves to send me anything in this lifetime 😂
I can understand, the want for an internal zoom. I got a RF 70-200mm f4 and had it now to send back, because something got loose inside and blocked the tubus, so that i wasnt able to go below 101mm. Picture quality and af worked fine though. Dont know but think that its a bit more unlikely that the new ones have that problem.
Oh no! Any idea what it might have been? And would you go to the F2.8? Hopefully I'll never have to eat these words about mine having no issue 😅
@@DanYosua no, i get a new f4 (lucky it was under warranty). Its not the lenses fault. I meant only that maybe the new ones, that not extend have a higher probability not to get something into the Lense body. The Image quality etc. are pretty fine, when it works.
Glad that happened still under warranty, would have been a big bummer if not.
@DanYosua yes that would be terrible. Would stil buy it or look how expensive the repair would be. Cant afford atm a over 3000 euro lense
keep doing what you do ;)
Slow and steady!
Great images, just shows you dont need mega expensive lenses to be great photographer. I honestly am aiming for a 24-105 f/4 with 100-500 and one prime like 50mm 1,8. Enough.
Aw thanks! A trio like that could get most people pretty far, at least for this sort of stuff. Have you used the 100-500 yet?
@DanYosua Nope, but used 500mm from Nikon
2 years in, do you have any dust inside the lens? People really bashed the f2.8/f4 for it being an external zoom lens.
3+ now, and 4+ with the 24-105mm! I use them both pretty hard and they're still holding up just fine. Though I will say, there are definitely situations where, if you end up in them a lot, I would be nervous. I would be more hesitant around sea spray maybe. And I just visited some sand dunes for my next vid, and didn't pack either, or the 100-400 (stuck to weather sealed primes). And I'm glad because the sand is everywhere and deep in my tripod 😅 I don't see immediate value in the $3k internals for myself at the moment, but if getting out in the nastiest conditions was part of your livelihood or frequent shooting, I could see jumping at those. But I also really hope they continue the F2.8 external design for the 70-200. It wasn't for me at the time, and still isn't, but if I went f2.8 I may still pick that for packability/carry-ability.
Works great on my R5 & R6m2 . As good as my RF 24-70L 2.8 . 28mm not so bad, about like a phone camera. Small size is great
Nice! Do you think you'll keep both long-term?
@DanYosua actually just sold the 24-70 and it was my go-to lens since it came out. The 28-70 has weather sealing and I heard it has L quality glass . The 28-70's size and price was the deal breaker for me. Used it on a R8 and was awesome too
I liked this with different account because my brother has earned more than 1 like this man is a W🎉
Thanks for the dedication haha
Thanks for the work you put into this video! I went to England and Scotland and brought my 35mm, 50mm and 80mm primes and found myself constantly switching. I love the photos I got and I do think there’s fun to be had with limiting yourself to a specific focal length, but overall I think next major trip I’m going to splurge on this lens so I don’t have to do so much swapping!
That sounds like a great trip, I'd love to get to Scotland at some point. And I think you nailed it - I'm currently having a lot of fun constraining myself to some prime shooting, but sometimes the switching gets to be a little much.
I have had several lenses with this function where you have to turn your zoom in to the lowest focal length to start shooting and I hate it too, it is so stupid 🤦🏼
I'd have to try it to know for sure, but I'm pretty sure I'll be in this camp too 😕
I think Rf24mm F1.8 IS is a better option as it has image stabilization and F1.8 and is not more expensive compared to RF28mm F2.8. I use it with my Canon R8. I can crop it and make 37mm or I can Vlog with 24mm F1.8. So 24mm F2.8 IS is the best option over 28mm F2.8. If it costs 200USD or typically 199USD then it can be considered.
Both are probably solid choices depending on use, especially on the R8, but the RF 24mm is twice as expensive, at least at MSRP. Personally, I like the 28mm length more as a prime, and mostly didn't miss the f1.8, IS, or macro given my other lenses. I haven't used the 24mm, but the corners on the 28mm seemed better for astro in a pinch as well. The 24mm is a great alternative to the 35mm for anyone who prefers that length and will make use of the features though.
I'm booked for a trip to New Zealand - and I'm trying to figure out which lens(es) to get for the trip. I'm tossing up the 70-200 f4, or the f2.8 version. Which would you recommend? Thanks!
You're going to have a blast! I overpacked for that trip, but did most of the heavy lifting with the F4 zooms. I also shot a lot on the RF 28mm and nifty fifty. And risked the 100-400 in the checked bag. This is a trip where the F4's shine imo, though if you're planning to shoot lots of portraits or at dusk, the F2.8 paired with something small and wide could get you really far with just two. Hi sir I have canon r8 and have 24-50mm which one next should I buy 50mm or 24-105mm
It's going to depend on what you'd like to do more of - having a bright f1.8 aperture will be nice if you want to shoot more indoors or have been wanting to better isolate your portraits/subjects. 24-105 might be better if you're generally happy with the range you have now but want to explore a brand new longer range. Long-term, you may or may not want to keep both the 24-50 and 24-105. The redundancy in focal length may be good or bad depending on what and how you shoot.
Dan, I don’t think this is what you want to hear but these shots look awesome haha. Now I want to rent the 85
Lol try again, tell me they aren't too good, and that I made a mistake by even evaluating this lens for the future 😅
This video perfectly sums up everything I have been thinking as since I bought my 50 1.2. I'm a landscape/stills photographer that travels full time for work, often months at a time. This means that if I'm not bringing a lens with me, it's never getting used. Since buying this lens, I have felt compelled to bring it with me everywhere I go, not just because the image quality blows me away, but also because it'll spend its life on a shelf if I don't (and it's way too expensive to justify that). I've also never been particularly wowed by the 50 1.8 and would rather be shooting on a higher quality 50 when possible - though I do still keep the 1.8 at home on a shelf (it's cheap enough for that). But yes, traveling with the 50 1.2 is a pain - it's extremely thick and heavy, constantly sets off density alarms on the new TSA 3D CT scanners, and is neccessitating me buying a new backpack to better carry the weight and bulk of my setup. But that image quality and f1.2 aperture puts a smile on my face every time I get home and review the photos. I've asked myself many times if it's really worth keeping in my daily bag, but every time I just can't get myself to pull away from it. Maybe it's partially because it's the highest quality lens I've ever owned by a wide margin - I travel with a kit very similar to yours: RF 24-105 F4L, RF 100-400, RF 28; and then, of course, the 50 1.2. Perhaps if I owned higher quality lenses, I would be less blown away by the 50 1.2, but I love and have been just content with my current set of RF glass. Luckily for us both, Canon is set to announce a 50 1.4 on October 30th (teaser is up on instagram). However, the new 50 is rumored to be a hybrid lens, identical in design to the 35 VCM. That means a set of compromises for stills photography, so the choice between a 1.2 and a 1.4 will still not be so straightforward. Perhaps for you, you will find the hybrid features appealing for your channel, but unfortunately for me, I'm a stills purest who doesn't want compromises made for video in my lenses.
For the harder hikes during this time I switched over to my bigger, more padded pack. I still use that one all the time for travel, but less so in recent years for actual hiking... definitely appreciated it for a few hikes again. I could see myself in your boat if I ever committed to this - just sorta embracing the downsides and enjoying the quality. Ideally they'll slim down a bit in a mark ii, but that's probably years away. 10/30 is shaping up to be a big day! Trying to withhold some judgement on the VCM's until I get hands on, but despite the channel, my gut reaction is that I also just wanted the smallest, weather-sealed, photo-focused option. Maybe the video features would grow on me, but to be continued! Appreciate the in-depth comment!
@@DanYosua For me, unfortunately, because I travel full time, I can only bring one bag, and the bag must be serviceable for any task I throw at it, from casual city exploring to intense day hiking, and just hauling all my travel equipment through the airport. For years my EDC bag was the Brevite Jumper. It worked well before I traveled like I do now. I adore the simple, understated design of the bag - for something so simple, it works so well as an EDC to a light travel bag. However, between the additional weight of my gear in recent years (my work laptop and charger alone double the weight of my kit) and the more intense hiking I've started to do - including summitting Mt. Washington with my camera gear and a bunch of extra survival gear - it's started to show its limits. Curious what bags you have been using. I just bought the Shimoda Design Explore V2 30L, and I'm hoping that it can be an adaptable, one-stop bag for all of my needs. Agreed about a version II of this lens. I hope they can find a way to make it slimer, lighter, and internally focusing. Those are the only downsides keeping version I from being a perfect lens. Sony found a way to achieve all three, so now let's hope Canon can too. It's definitely a way down the road as you mentioned, though, especially with the 1.4 on the near horizon. I'm also going to withhold further judgment until I can get my hands on the 50 1.4 in a store and reviews start coming out - but if the 35 1.4 is anything to go off - I'm not overly optimistic. I hope to be wrong. Lastly, just wanted to say that your pictures remind me a lot of my first time shooting with the 50 1.2. I had it shipped to Phoenix to meet me while I was out on the road around this time last year and took it on a lot of day hiking through fall foliage around Arizona. I see the same beautiful colors and rendering out of your photos that I did with mine, and that made me fall immensely in love with this lens. Really enjoyed the shots you shared!
Assuming you like the fit, you will probably like the Shimoda bag a lot. I have two f-stop bags, 50L and 37L, videos on each. These days I tend to use the 50L for storage with a larger ICU, and the 37L for most of the hiking, sometimes more as a computer bag, etc. I haven't flown with the 50L, but the 37L has worked pretty well on flights. I love them and having two works well for me. Even for weekend trips I'll often pack one with my desired kit, and the other with odds and ends. They're pricey, but they work well for me and I expect to run them into the ground over several more years.
“Scared is my natural state.” Same
It's tough out there in the world!
The usual dilemma: weight, size, and cost
I need a new villain 🤣
I like this lens rental at such a popular focal length. Bokeh is nice but didn't realize the price is so steep in dollars & weight. Canon definitely needs that 50 mm f1.4. My biggest surprise: your iPhone footage was amazing! I would have thought it was the Canon R8 on an f4 lens. Nice editing by the way, love how you tell us the lens or camera being used, great photos and videos of Colorado, spot on pacing, and your sense of humor. Top notch production, not too many on YT with your level of quality.
Thanks so much, they're a lot of work but I feel like I'm slowly getting better. The iPhone stuff always surprises me in a good way... and I'm hardly tweaking those clips. My biggest issue there is I don't have nearly enough storage to use it more, and after two years, the battery is already hurting. So it's tough to use for Google maps, Alltrails, podcasts, and video all in the same 5-6 hours. The anker magGo has been my favorite accessory.
This is a lens that I have never used, but always kind of lusted after. Every time I'm getting an itch to buy it I wait a few days and the want goes away. In reality its not the lens I want. It's a new look to get me past the mundane of the same lenses and looks I have been shooting for years. I'm on a quest and I think I found the poor mans version of what I'm looking for, which is still pricey. Medium Format.
Do "poor mans version" and "medium format" go together in the same comment?? 😅 I have too, which is why I wanted to give it some time to mostly rule it out. I would gladly rent again for shorter durations for certain shoots though.
@@DanYosua sounds like the 50 1.4 RF is being announce this month on the 30th so just wait. If it’s around $1200 I would jump on that instead of the 1.2.
@@JaredHoyman hoping it'll be that, but I'm bracing for $1499 like the 35
Where is lightroom performance and all in this sh*t praising about apple lapptops?
😂🤷🏻♂️ you'll want to find a different video? I have a preference for MacOS, and Apple hardware now that they've added back the i/o.
@@DanYosua well everywhere i searched is the same thing that you have said in your videos. Nothing new. A few minutes of the main topic and rest is apple praising.
@@taimurrose Happy to try to answer any specific questions, but Apple deserves praise on these imo. That's why I chose it. They broke themselves out of their ultra slim design language, gave creators much of what we wanted and Apple silicon performs really well in the Adobe suite. At least after Rosetta it has. I've largely run two machines alongside each other, one windows pc and one macbook, for the last decade. Not to mention multiple work machines over that time. So I don't blindly hate on other options. But in my experience, windows laptops have been subpar across the board. I seriously considered a Razer Blade, probably would've been relatively happy, but don't think it would have lasted as long, wouldn't have played as nice with iPhone, and I would have overpaid for the screen given the higher refresh rates for gaming.
For me, fast 50mm is really just for the portraits I don't do. The 24-105 F4 does almost everything with my R8, and then I've got the 3 specials: 16mm 2.8 for when 24mm isn't wide enough, 24 and 35mm F1.8's for video and a few niche uses. Neither the 50 1.2 or 1.8 have IS so they aren't good for night street which is one thing I'd like that focal length for (I'll use the 35mm on my R7 for that).
"The portraits I don't do." Haha yeah, I feel that much of the time. Landscape and travel are my big use cases and this is mostly overkill for both. If I knew I'd always have enough space, I would use this lens for most talking head video as well... but I like the 28mm for tighter spaces, and top down generally, for that use case. I didn't have any during this month but for small gigs shooting inside, I would use this a ton. I make it work but I often feel cramped at 85mm for those.
Meanwhile Sony has 7 autofocusing 50mm options available. Macro, to cheap, to f1.2 expensive. Canon is dragging their feet.
Options for daysss over there 👀
It is a sexy lens to be sure. I realized that 50 is not my focal length, so I got the EF mount Tamron 35 1.4 earlier this year instead. All-around perfect lens. Amazing rendering. Sure, it is just as heavy as the RF50L, but when travelling, I take the RF35STM either way (together with the RF100-400).
Having two copies of a prime you like is an underrated hack. Not always feasible either for cost, bag room, or not knowing which to settle on... but I am so happy I brought the RF 28mm pancake to NZ and not my Sigma. It was a great to have a length I was comfortable with, with many of the benefits in 1/4 of the footprint. That 35/100-400 would be a great travel combo!
I am with you... I LOVE the RF 50 1.2 but as an architectural photographer, its a luxury lens, not a necessity. Also, it's not that heavy when your main lens is the 24-70 2.8... 😅 I would love to see a native mid-tier, weather sealed 50mm 1.4. Hopefully it would perform closer to the RF 1.2 than the EF 1.4-that lens was not great... but who am I kidding... one day I will splurge on the 1.2.
Haha maybe this one will catch up to me one day too 😅 Have you tried the 10-20mm for any of your stuff?
Great video! An underrated 50mm prime is the Tokina Opera EF F/1.4. That thing’s is sharp, fast and built like a tank. It has ultra sonic motors and is weather sealed. I think it’s on sale for $699.00. I returned my copy I didn’t find 50mm desirable focal length. I prefer zooms and wides like a RF 14-35mm and RF 70-200mm. My favorite RF prime right now is the RF 35mm F/1.4 VCM
Hadn't heard of that but it sounds like a bargain for those willing to adapt. Seems like the exact same footprint as the EF Sigma 28mm art... which I certainly also complain about hauling around, but otherwise use quite often and think was a steal for around the same price. How has the 35mm been?
@@DanYosuaI forgot to add that the Tokina 50mm is a heavy lens. It weights around 2.2 pounds. I love the new RF 35mm prime. I preordered it on launch date. It’s sharp, and has some of the fastest auto focus due to the VCM motor’s. Many complain about the distortion (which is pretty bad) but I think many people focus on specs too much and don’t go out in the real world and shoot. Uncorrected it’s about a 32mm or 33mm focal length. I enjoy it. I hope they come out with a 85mm F/1.4 VCM as 35mm and 85mm are my favorite focal lengths !
"I think many people focus on specs too much and don’t go out in the real world and shoot." I want to find some compelling ways to work this discussion into videos. "Shoot more" is almost always the answer. Obviously "more" will depend by person, where they are on their journey, aspirations, etc. Admittedly it often feels like an unsatisfactory answer, but it feels like THE answer 😅
