We play this in our orchestra. We (the trombones) play the waltz beat and at every concert comes this moment when we all just start swaying to the beat. It's always an awesome time
Can you make this Russ- wait. Can you make this Communi- damnit. Ooh, can you make this have slight Anarcho-Syndicalist leanings? Shit that one’s taken to.
This is actually the song I can play on piano because I love it and have practiced it sooo much. I can also play it on trombone. Thank you so much for uploading this!!!
So... here in my hometown there's an old lady that carries one of those high-bass, luminous speakers with wheels on it (had no idea what they are called). Really high end stuff, and almost every morning she scrolls through midtown to her workplace playing this song (orchestra version) full blast. Even during this weird hard times she manages to break routine and steal a smile from all the people that don't know her and see her for the first time lol. Without a care in the world she just walks around with her huge speaker making hand gestures as if she were conducting the piece. It's the small beauties and odd spectacles that make me love my city.
Good lord we played this in orchestra one year.... we played it for 5 months straight. Everyone hated it by the end of those months. And yet, I still find myself humming it every now and then.
My god this is a throwback to high school. Played this on euphonium and ended up playing the trombone solo because the trombone player couldn't do it well enough. One of my highlights from high school band! Thanks for making this! I love it!
I remember hearing this song as a child, I liked it. Now I adore it. (I probably heard it because every so often, my parents would play some classical in the car. I remember my brother loving flight of the bumblebees especially. Good times eh?)
*Fun fact* The melody of this theme is based on a popular spanish song. Shostakovich heard it from the spanish comunist refugees, since in Spain the civil war was won by Franco.

Man favourite piece with man favourite pianist. Who can say no, eh?
*Fun fact*
The melody of this theme is based on a popular spanish song. Shostakovich heard it from the spanish comunist refugees, since in Spain the civil war was won by Franco.
Really? Noice!!! I always thought it had kind of a Russian feeling (obviously because of Shosty's nation)
@@dacoconutnut9503 Yes, obviously, Shostakovic adapted it but the original melody is from the song "yo te daré"
If you search in youtube "yo te daré- la pitusilla" you'll find it
You should do Pirogov Suite finale
Thank you!! Love it
The best song from Comrade Shostakovich, thank you!
