I love watching a good conductor and orchestra. I got a kick out of the 2 very different styles of the Bassoonists and then the violinist (first chair) who was really having fun. Listening and watching someone who really enjoys what they're playing is even better than just listening. My favorite conductor is the one doing Offenbach -Orpheus in the underworld overture. He sings and dances the music and is just having a grand old time. The players better be in good physical condition too because it gets rather frantic towards the end.
Totally agree. I love knowing that these musicians are having fun as well as being supremely talented. I always love watching an orchestra play like this
@@linseat7670 yes agreed if you like this listen to London symphony, Phase4 recording of Sharezade, With Leopold Stokowski , best ever my favorite , and I play a Stratocaster 😁
@@lawrenceburchett7411 Just listening to it right now! I've been off YT recently, so only just caught up with your comment. I laughed at "and I play a Stratocaster" haha!
all those musicians were just cranking at the end, that was fn sensational, im a metal head play guitar, that looks hard to play on just about all the instruments, dam its good tho, i got into classical music playing return fire game, i actually remember playing cause i wanted to listen to the songs haha
I am relating it to my hobby as a military analyst. Funny how things relate. 🎧❤️👽👻 ua-cam.com/video/WfGMYdalClU/v-deo.htmlsi=gRMG7cRrzSexCt9u kudos to the performance.
I stopped at this video because I recognized the two bassoonists from other videos. I'm 42 seconds in now and thinking this guy is a pretty good director too. The difference in how the two perform is pretty striking too. I never could do the bouncing and dancing in my chair while playing. I was much more like the lady with the lace and hair over her shoulders (other than being male and not into lace... LOL). Wow! That first violinist really likes to dance in her chair. it's clear to me that none of the string players are ever going to have heart troubles. I played violin for awhile and I don't think I could move my right hand that fast even if I practiced for a million years. I'm going to cite this video to a friend who likes classical music.
The tympanist is really rockin' it. Many of the wind players are wearing earpieces; noise protection from the percussion? They don't look like earphones.
I have to disagree with Chris Baker. The first chair Violinist was showing off, the other string players let their bows do the talking. But this is the best performance yet.

that first violin rocking out fr
🎻
Keeping the back rows & violas in tempo when the conductor's back is turned. Concertmaestra!
They nailed it,
Lol you could tell some of her co-workers were like "yo, girl. It's a good song and all but you are wildin' out on us."
if more people could take joy in the smallest things like the ginger violinist, this world would be a merrier place.
So true

@@縣😭🤣
your rite, but playing hall of the mountain king with ur bros/orchestra is not a small thing
I've listened to and watched this a good few times now. It's the best version I've found on UA-cam. It gets me moving when I'm feeling lazy!

the violin in the front looked like she was having a good time
🎻
shes dancing to the tunes man
Seems like first chair’s always have that music jumping inside them. I love it!
@@SureBetter probably thats why their up there lol
First violin. It's sort of her job haha
Beautifully performed! The audio is mixed very well, this sounds incredible!
Seeing what a struggle it is for the string players to keep up that pace makes me understand why the finale isn't longer than it is.
Agreed. That's Insane. Great talent
As a grade 1 chello player I'm also confused
Brilliant!
Gorgeous! Both from the orchestra and the sound engineer! :-)

Great respect ladies and gentlemen!
Very crisp performance.
Truly amazing
Amazing✨👍✌️
Meravigliosi !!! Musica stupendamente eseguita !!!
That’s a good looking orchestra!
Icelanders. All Nords are good looking.
That brought an appreciative tear to my eye..
This performance is in my top five music vids now.
Absolutely Beautiful ❤🎉
Magic!Magic! Greetings from Thessaloniki!
Wonderful, well done!
Excellent 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I dream of playing this song someday.
I'm learning this on piano!

Perfection! Wow! At one point it took my breath away.
Wonderful!
Good stuff.

Outstanding ! More epic orchestras !!
Timeless
Would be interesting to see where Grieg might have put a saxophone in this type of music.
I'm learning this on guitar
The contrabassoon should have been played for this. Why was it just sitting there?!?
2nd best version so far. Listened to 2013 one from European orchestra.
Well that escalated quickly
Haha! This piece is like the definition of escalating quickly
My 4th grade music students loved this video and wondered what the objects behind the woodwinds are? They appear to be some sort of headrest but why?
Clarinetist at 2:15 is resting his head in one. It might be hearing protection against the volume of the percussion.
The tympanist is really rockin' it.
Many of the wind players are wearing earpieces; noise protection from the percussion? They don't look like earphones.
As a grade 1 chello player i am truly confused on how the chelloists and violinists keep up with the drums they play so fast
AMAZING 👏
Ух!!!!
This music is my favourite song 🎵 ❤
They're good. I will always prefer the Electric Light Orchestra version.
The people playing the baboon are working hard and I respect it.❤❤
I have to disagree with Chris Baker. The first chair Violinist was showing off, the other string players let their bows do the talking. But this is the best performance yet.
There's a reason she is first chair.
Are basoon players called Basoonists? I sure hope so.
I'm only listening to this cause I started to randomly humm it.
Ignore the fact that I listen to this for fun.
Anxiety the song

The pace starts out too slow and feels rushed at the end frankly.🤷♂️
The bassoonist too lol
its hall of the mountain king :3
Everyone who comes to a concert has a cold, apparently.
It's Iceland.
