Just some background information/Austrian folk tale, each profession in the German speaking world in the Middle Ages had a “Zunft”, a gild, which basically defined the rules of the trade. A man from Frankfurt invented sausages of finely ground meat which were cooked in the process, which was forbidden by Frankfurt's butchers' gild, but _not_ in Vienna, so he moved there. Needless to say, his sausages were a big success still very much in demand to this day. His sausages are known as “Frankfurter” in Austria, because the inventor was from that city, but are usually called “Wiener Würstchen” (“Vienna-sausages”) everywhere else because they were first sold here. Have a nice day!

Jäger is clearly well over 6’7” (Blaskowitz is 6’3”) yet he still fits under the door frame easily with a few inches headroom. In Germany our average door height is 6’7” (200 cm).Great scene. Love it.
I remember this, and I remember immediately shifting the grip on my controller in preparation for a fight to break out, as soon as he grabs your wrist! Such great "acting" in this game!
Everyone is dissing the guard for letting public enemy number #1 through, but if *my* job was passport-checking and somebody that looked just like the superman whose killed thousands of soldiers with his bare hands that the vets tell horror stories about showed up, I’d probably let them through and pray it’s just a coincidence too.

Dear god, that long pause had me thinking I was gonna be Greta's dinner
Hot dogs, lightening up fascist situations since 1939
The Idiodyssey look, all we know is when the SS comes knocking on your door checking your house for Jews you better have a fucking hot dog joke to tell
As I’m speaking both languages fluently i need to say :
Fascinating those wolfenstein dialogues they are amazingly done
And I also loved that they didn't have a guy talk English with a poor accent like most games would do
Why did he try "hot dog" anyway? LOL
Shengwu Chang He sucks at speaking German, so I guess it was spur of the moment kind of thing.
PurpleStorm8 I see, I thought its a stereotype joke among Americans towards Germans. :O
PurpleStorm8 What's ironic is that he's fought Nazis ever since the beginning of the war (I'd say a good 5 or so years), so you'd think he'd pick up on some vocabulary from all the enemy chatter.
Shengwu Chang Frankfurter, in German, means hot dog.
+Atomic Biscuit
specifically, Frankfurters are hot dogs prior to WW1, when they changed the name in the US.
Without subtitles, these situations are hella terrifying
Well you could learn german and enjoy so much more.
Their laughter is kinda contagious! It's hard not to chuckle at this scene
Nothing beats a bit of classic sausage-based humour
The real question is...are you a Berliner. JFK seems to think so.
Wow you're that scene guy!
I loved this game, but man, The New Order still stands, for me, as the crown jewel of mature story telling in a shooter format. Absolute premier game. Horribly violent, but so sincere.
Oh most definitively. New order was the epytome of simple and efficient.
Terror billy's laugh is just full on menacing. Its like you can tell that hes already imagining splitting their skulls in half if this goes sour, and hes just not afraid. 😂
Definitely felt like a scene from Inglourious Basterds
Played this the other night and this was possibly the most startling/scary scene. I had just finished playing The New Order and was expecting a lot of shit to go down and immediately gave myself a jump scare when Greta gets funny with you haha. Love the wolfenstein series
I keep coming back to rewatch this video I don't know how many times. It's such a hilarious concept.
I love how in every wolfenstein game they put tense scenes like this, they REALLY like making you worried you’ll be found out.
That soldier is acting like he seen Jager rip someones head bare-handed
This scene shows us how important it is to master a foreign language.
I showed this to my german class professor, she found it hilarious. It has become an inside joke now
0:50 When teacher tells whole class unfunny joke.
as soon as this happened I just started grinning like "oh boy his covers busted"
The customs guard is so cool
Actually the subtitles are wrong, He said: "Everything will change once we take over." Not "They'll see when we take over."
Jäger is clearly well over 6’7” (Blaskowitz is 6’3”) yet he still fits under the door frame easily with a few inches headroom. In Germany our average door height is 6’7” (200 cm).Great scene. Love it.
1:00
Can we just acknowledge Greta's terrifying stare and weird, sudden shift?
Frankfurter? Ja , ein Hot Dog (That would have really been a pretty funny joke in that situation , i don't know why the soldier was confused)
Yeah, It would take bu just one wrong move an he’d become Greta’s dinner
He is initiated by his superior
The fact that.the.army keps sending him.as a special Agent even though he dosent speak a word german
You ever look at the Soda Machine...you'll notice one of the buttons says Nuka Cola!
Kiyoko504 Well Bathesda did publish and help make this game
Pure improvisation, this game is so tense and well done!
Rolled a natural 20 on a charisma check.
Наконец то каменщик нашел себе нормальную оплачиваемую работу.
0:47 that moment when you are shitting bricks
ANZACS100 same, I was thinking "I'm so fucked"
ANZACS100 yeah I built an entire housing estate during this scene
Jager: Are you a Frankfurter?
BJ: *99% Level Of Stress*
I remember this, and I remember immediately shifting the grip on my controller in preparation for a fight to break out, as soon as he grabs your wrist! Such great "acting" in this game!
Everyone is dissing the guard for letting public enemy number #1 through, but if *my* job was passport-checking and somebody that looked just like the superman whose killed thousands of soldiers with his bare hands that the vets tell horror stories about showed up, I’d probably let them through and pray it’s just a coincidence too.
And additionally A. This is afaik before BJ was public enemy 1#, and B. It doesn't help when the one OTHER guy who's built like a fuckin wall in Germany walks in
The german voice actors in these games are astonishing
That soldier is me, during 2 strangers talking close and start laughing then they look at me and say, "get it?"
Hahaha plastic as fuck.
Laughing at this terrible dad joke and dropping his guard was the domino that started the chain reaction that was the fall of the nazi regime.
This looks like a reference to the genius scene of Tarantino's film
The fact that a literal SS soldier is not only physically weaker than a Jäger and absolutely terrified of one really made me think about how powerful the Nazis are in this game
Dammit Woolie
Greta you bitch...
"Ja eh.. Hot dog"
_guard looks back and forth you and Jäger nervously_
'we'll see when we take over" coincidence, or an allusion to the New colossus?
In New Order America was already captured.
More like an allusion the game that literally came a year before. It’s a prequel dude.
Yeah he totally made you as a spy with that hotdog act. Smart of him to play it off to later get the jump on you both.
