glad to see you revisited this and had a better experience. i think a bit of post stabilisation is fair enough, people expect too much and lets face it, even pro's will re-stabilise shots on their sony's if they didn't quite nail the take but overall it was the best pick. still think they need to make a Smooth 'plus' with higher payload so you can easily add moment/exolens with tiffen filters- that's like an extra 200g

I have this setup....Zhiyun Smooth 4, iPhone 7 plus, Moment Anamorphic and Wide lenses, Moment counterweight, and Filmic Pro....love it! After trying the Osmo 2 which could not handle my setup, I got the Smooth 4...even though my setup is very heavy, .this gimbal is a beast! I thought I'd miss the joystick but the trigger in the back is very versatile and allows control over the gimbal and you can always re-center the gimbal which is important.
Have the same setup but the Samsung so and I love it, just got the anamorphic lens also so looking forward to getting some footage with it

Just a tip about Zhiyun Smooth 4 tracking feature :
I recommend to not depended on this feature too much, as with tracking algorithm sometimes confused with the object we locked-on into; resulting in more shaky and panning/tilting problem with our gimbal
The perfect solution for this (right now) is to practice our natural skills in video making over and over. If you consistent with practice I believe even you can be more advance than the tracking feature that comes within Zhiyun itself ...
Nice video. Former television writer entering the mobile film game! I saw your review of the six gimbals and I didn’t mind some of the “faults” you mentioned but I was wondering if the tracking issues were addressed. THAT one was what alarmed me...
I am or let me correct that, was, a sad owner of the Zhiyun Smooth 4. It sets in the local land fill now for it's constant software/firmware errors. I bought a Moxi two weeks ago and have experienced a gimbal now that WORKS. Wish people like you Jeven gave something more true. I am far from the only person with problems.

Do you have any video regarding vertical filming with the Smooth 4? It seems it is not as steady as for horizontal filming...

This video is really great, Jeven! I have a slightly unrelated question for which I am desperate to get an answer: I want to output live video from 2 iPhone XS cameras to a SONY MCX 500 switcher for use in a live streaming set up. I'm thinking this is similar to monitoring the video output through a field monitor? My questions are can I do this (either via lightning to HDMI cable or with the proper HDMI to SDI converter), and is the video output from the iPhone XS "clean", i.e., free of camera info, framing guides, focus boxes, etc.? Can that video output be just the image as with a camcorder connected in the same fashion?

It’s been tough to find out exactly if it does for the Pro Max. Ive seen many videos and people talking about how it works great for the “IPhone 11 / Pro / Pro Max. But then some have said its too heavy? So it seems its not clear yet.....

Like it, just bought it but I would not know how I keep it balance and stabilize the phone because it falls off on the right side of gimbal.
Omg, I just purchased the Freevision Vilta M based on your thoughts on your previous video. The gimbal was on sale on B&H today at a 50 dollar savings. I downloaded flimac pro and now I definitely confused if I should cancel or return the gimbal and purchase this one. Especially now that they can be synced together with the controls. QUESTION! I used the Smooth 4 with my Samsung Galaxy S8+. But now I also have a Galaxy S10+. Much heavier. The Gimbal heats up quickly, and sorta goes haywire after a short time. Is it the weight? It just does not seem to like the S10+, so I have gone back to my back-up camera S8+. Any thoughts?
at the end of yer very helpful video those little boxes pop up promoting other videos while you are still talking. any way to disable that or keep youtube from doing it?

Is there a way to take a still photo using filmic pro and the zhiyun or do you have to revert back to the stock application for zhiyun. I'd be great with taking a small video and knowing how to edit it similar to what Apple calls a live photo if that's possible. Any help would be appreciated

All I want to do is start/stop and zoom with Filmic + gimbal with my iPhone 11 Pro. Can I use the zoom wheel for zooming within Filmic or am I limited to using it for focus/exposure?

Hoping you can give me an opinion. I'm a fashion stylist looking for a mobile gimbal specifically for the use of filming before and after shots of my clients and to make short lookbook films of myself while it's placed on a tripod.
I just got a new phone (the Google Pixel 3a) so it has to be compatible with it as well.
Any advice you can give me would be great, I'm very excited to start using a gimbal to make my styling work look even better :)

How’s the tracking performance of Zhiyun Smooth 4. I wanna buy a mobile gimbal (either smooth 4 or DJI mobile 2) to do some cinematic movement. But, i saw many reviews on youtube about the unacceptable performance of smooth 4’s tracking. Has it been fixed nowadays?
Hi I'm using a Huawei Y9 prime on a Zhiyun smooth 4 gimbal, it is big such that the phone holder slightly touches the arm of the gimbal, does this mean my phone is incompatible with the Zhiyun smooth 4?
For someone with an iPhone XS Max who wants to use Moment lenses, even with counterweights it sometimes lags. It’s a bummers there really no gimbal out there for heavier sets ups except for the Movi cinema robot which can be really heavy to hold for too long

So how would it compete against the movi when it comes to smoothness? I seen your other video on the beach and the smooth 4 didnt do so good. And nice way to hold the audience with those girls. I see it's a pattern since you did it in the beach video as well. I've owned the smooth 4 for almost a year and I did try using filmic pro with it but ended up deleting the app for some reason. This was a while back so il have to look into filmic pro again.

How does this deal with oversized phones that have the lens a bit closer to the center.
My P30 keeps picking up the motor in its field of view. Thus, I end up pushing the phone further out from center and needing to add my own homemade weight. Not ideal.

Hi love the videos, would help if you could answer why many creators dont show the video in 24 or 30 fps when using the XS? From the apple website it says that their extended dynamic range isn't supported in their 60 fps but is that something that is also completely disabled when using filmic pro app?
In 30fps software stabilisation of the iPhone can enter in conflict with the mechanical stabilisation of the smooth4
