This mirror module is very underrated. On pictures it looks just silly. You have to see it for yourself. Then it's a different experience - really hard to describe. The combination with an Aliexpress kit is awesome. I tried it myself, but could not get the bracelet to fit. So I put it into an black metal bezel and a grey resin bracelet. Awesome, as well.
I just did the same mod with the mirror watch, though I just used the metal bezel from Ali Express. Five minutes later and the watch was transformed from one that was just ‘Meh’ with the original rubber bezel, to a super smart shiny watch that looks great on my wrist. This is really one of those underrated mods that you don’t see many people doing, and you definitely don’t need the metal bracelet. It looks perfectly fine with the original black strap. Great mod, thanks for giving me the idea.
Great mod (funny how my first kit installed seamlessly, and the more recent one gave me the exact same trouble yours gave you with the bracelet fitting). Excellent production values and a pleasure to "watch", as always! Another excellent contender for this mod is the DW5600-BB blackout version. Doesn't have the mirror finish, yet sits just as beautifully, if not more so, in stainless steel. I absolutely love mine!
@@stitgibekili Glad you sorted it out. For me, it was for sure the springbar that was to blame. I ended up using one of the spares from my first kit, and that got it taken care of.
Great video, Dave! As a full blown G-Shock addict, I enjoyed it. One day soon, I'll be doing several videos on these, particularly looking at the kits side-by-side with their real Casio counters.
I like the loooks of that mod. It looks better than the metal case & bracelet mod I did with my DW-5600E.....I was able to get the supplied spring bars to install. Like you, I had to use a little pressure.
I considered doing the same but with the gold faced one & gold bezel & bracelet, 2 of the kits I've bought had poor spring bars that wouldn't fit both ends, I had to buy replacement qr spring bars but an easy fix. The quality is very good otherwise.
Hi Dave. A few months ago I did just this. But I converted the Red Adrenaline model with the stainless steel case & band! Looks absolutely awesome! I call it “The Terminator!”😎😈😆👍🏻 It’ll be fine in that case...just don’t let your kids “play” with it!!!😈😈😈🤣
@@JusttheWatch Awesome! I think I'll be getting a metal bezel for mine in very soon. For future reference if you're wondering about any other models, here's a chart showing the case/bezel compatibility. www.reddit.com/r/gshock/comments/em12jm/for_those_of_you_who_mod_squares_and_want_to_know/
You're all good Dave. Great video. Bet the kids had a great time. As for durability, my recent understanding is that the resin straps point downwards on G shocks (try laying one flat) so that the watch just bounces when dropped. The strap has a springy, shock absorbing effect. Honestly I think that's about all you are going to lose. I pondered doing this change but lacking the dexterity I bought the Skmei "shock" instead. Both yourself and Jody are terrible for leading me astray and the Skmei was his fault. It was under 15 GBP. It's insane value. I hope that their workers are treated well..... 👍⌚
Hi, I just bought the same watch. I want to replace the band with metal or titanium one. My wrist is 6.7 inches (17cm). Do you think it will fit good? Where did you purchase the titanium band from ?
Hi Dave from England.love the channel.i love those kits.i have 3 for my 5600 and 5610 GShocks. A blue metal.cammo metal and antique black.they look great.and feel comfortable.have you seen the metal case and strap kits for the A2100. Casioak.. they are really good.keep up the good work mate.
Impressive the metal quality but that is no loger antishock g shock, cuz that model doesn't have the middle part to absorb the hits. So this resin case model is not designed to have the metal bezel. if you mod for example the gm s5600 that has the resin case an also the middle resin part antishock, then u are good to go.
There's a gold (bronze? ymmv) version of this watch you could pair with a gold mod kit. Pair it with a chunky Cuban link bracelet on the other wrist and and some gold aviator frames for a look straight outta Miami Vice :-)
Hi Dave, I have a 5,8" wrist, but I think I've found a solution to these mods. I've seen some people filing down the endlink where it locks in with the case, so it can rotate freely. Do you think this would work to make the bracelet slope down to meet the wrist?
The kit was $53, and you have to match the kit with the specific watch you're modding. This particular one should work with any DW-5600 series G-Shock, but they make kits for other lines as well.
Definitely falls under more of a fashionable GShock. Never thought of pairing the conversion kit with one of them, very nice choice!

You have to apply the bracelet BEFORE the bezel. Much easier that way. :)
I can't imagine it's less durable after this mod, it's solid metal! Let's see your kids have a crack at breaking this one Dave!
Yeah, Dave! Do it for science!
Intro music and effects were awesome. I’m loving this mod. Never saw this before.
You're so right.. Best version of the watch to put in that conversion kit!

guyo68 Ha! I had the same issue with the second one too, but it was with the module. Had to do some “extra” modding to fix it.

Put the bracelet on BEFORE the bezel.

Ordered the DW-5600BMA-1 and bracelet from AE in May. Got the watch in May, got the bracelet today. Great minds think alike.
G-Shocks can be quite addictive.
I started out with one last year, now I own 4 of them..
Got about 40 and just ordered another 5 🤷🏽♂️🤣😂
Production values are way up, I see!!! Very happy to see how successful you have become.
Ha! Thanks for checking in Dave!
@@JusttheWatch sorry, I've always liked your videos... I didn't mean to imply you had poor production before!
I’m glad I watched this. I didn’t know the links were held together with spring bars.
Here for the content, amazed at the video production quality! Nice work!
Wow, definitely a winner! I'm not a fan of digitals, but that looks fantastic. Also love your yellow Casioak!

I love that bracelet, wish I could find a titanium one like that, part matte and part polished.
Phantastic intro and cool video. Always looking forward to your next one.
I did mine with distressed steel, strap and case and looks and feels amazing now.. Predator style :))
This is a stunning looking mod!
I believe GLide do fit inside 5610 (like the solar wave band 6 one) instead of 5600 parts.
I modded two of my G-Shocks one with the camo mod and the other with the steel version. They both look awesome.
It looks perfect

I love G-Shock ...
Thanks for the video .
What a “cool” watch love it, great video
Im wearing the forgotten future dw-5600. It would look sick like this.
Hey I did this exact mod a whole back! I also added a silver bulbar to it

looks pretty nice! I just did the Mecha mod but now i’m trying to figure out how to make the screen red and invert the number colors
Want. That's gorgeous well done.

Looks great! The g-lide series have the same case as the 5610.
Hmmmm.... might have to try that out, maybe I'll go with a Camo version...

the first link does flare out too much. there is a set made by g-refit which is much more curved in. Id recommend that set.

I just ordered a full titanium kit for my G-shock 5600 :-)
Hi, I just bought the same watch. I want to replace the band with metal or titanium one. My wrist is 6.7 inches (17cm). Do you think it will fit good? Where did you purchase the titanium band from ?
Excelent video, I suggest to use the original spring bar, ;), saludos desde Chile.
Nice watch that thanks for sharing with us 👍
Groovy intro! Very cool mod, seems easy enough to follow. The full metal is so expensive. 💔 I have 6.25” wrist so i wont be able to pull this off.
Why you cant ?
Love your video. Btw, did you use a gen 3bor gen 4 kit?

Yes, where is the new link?
Very nice. And so cheap mod. Must try

Titanium, on AliExpress?

Is it legal to write G Shock on it? Its not really made by Casio. Legal in China I guess.
Cost of the mod kit? And can the kit (any kit) work with any other Casio, i.e. non-GShock?
