All these parents who get remarried and treat their biological children like garbage. The step parents are always trying to push the bio kids out and disowned by their parents. Just disgusting behavior by the parent
The father is disgusting. He has kept inherited sentimental items from OP, emotionally neglected him, kicked him out, expected him to parent a spoiled teen for a year (likely without being able to actually parent, without financial support, and without giving OP any respect), and leached off of his in-laws.
The father and the stepmother are yhe selfish ones. They don't give OP a room on her own home, they kept her mother's jewels and demand they take stepdaughter on a trip.
The YTA comments reeks in golden child smell and daddy issues. OP not only is entitled to that room, but also to the belongings he has there as well and they were sold by the dad. I think the point isn't about the room, is about the heads up, the way the dad treat OP, the dismissing attitude and the favoritism, as well selling a stuffs who legally belongs to OP as well, so OP can sue him for it too, and there isn't a "is my house" bullcrap.
Watch how all the YTA at S1 become YTA as well if the tittle was "AITA for giving my Daughter's room to my girlfriend's daughter and asking her to stay at a hotel during holidays?".
Story 1, so not only do they give the room away and sell the computer, but their reasoning was we thought you'd have a laptop and stay in a hotel, first of all they owe u the money from the sale and why didn't they at least think u would stay in the guest room since your room is unavailable?? Instead they figure u can just pay for a hotel. 🤯 crappy, crappy parents, especially the father . Why didn't they furnish the other room for her? It would be different if OP'S room was the only room available for the stepsister but it wasn't. NTA OP.
Why didn't they give the GF's daugter the equivalent room furnished to her taste? If they had to give the OP's old room to the GF's daughter, why weren't all of the OP's belongings put in the empty equivalent room.
Is this tell same people who said you going to your them in your own home would disrupt there life if she comes to live with you and bad things happen and they will happen pregnancy or drugs or any thing You are going to BLAMED and expected to clean it up supporting her child

For all you parents that change the room when someone moves out, give them a heads up.
Why are dad and his new family living in his dead wife's parents' house? Get them out!
I wish the grandfather would get the jewelry back and force the dad and his GF to live as caretakers in the house.

"They want to have their cake and eat it too*
All I can think is “search and destroy moved into our home” 🤣

Imagine having an identical room but taking the room of op. The people saying he's the ahole are a holes
That's stealing the OP's late mother's jewelry!
This story has me RAGING because I dealt with losing my mom at 14, and a gold digging step monster whispering in my dad's ear.

Uhm does everone forget the house belongs to maternal grandparents and will belong to op
OP, I'd ask my granddad to charge them proper rent.
Bro, come on. Why the loop
