Erasing Tar From Car Wheels In Minutes

  • I had a customer who drove on a newly paved road. Within minutes of paving the road, the customer had to drive on the road. Needless to say they got tons of tar on their wheel rims and lower parts of their side skirts. The tar hardened and was not removable by just scrubbing dry or wiping dry.
    I used CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron remover to rapidly remove the tar deposits from the rims. I sprayed CarPro TRIX directly onto the wheel and let it sit between 1-5 minutes. If you can remove the tar from simply using a pressure washer or garden hose then go for it. You may need to up the aggressiveness to a microfiber towel and gently rub the tar off the rims. You may need to do a few applications but you can easily remove all the tar deposits within 5 minutes making your rims look new again.

    Great video. Would you also recommend this to get tar off car paint?

      Unfortunately I ran out of it before I got to the side skirts. I used Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover and that worked really well too. I’m wondering if the Trix would have worked but I can’t recommend if I didn’t try it. I’d say go for it. Make a video of it let us know how it worked!

    Would TRIX remove that annoying black adhesive residue from old balance weights, inside the alloy barrels?

    • @AutOdometer
      @AutOdometer  3 роки тому

      If the adhesive is tar or iron it may work. If not you would probably be better going with Goo Gone. I would say Goo Gone would probably work for any adhesive. I’m sure Goo Gone is on amazon as well

    Does it have petroleum in it

      @AutOdometer  3 роки тому

      Not really sure. Do petroleum products cause issues to the clear coat or paint?

      @@AutOdometer no it does not. I’ve used WD-40 to take tar off before I buff cars

    • @AutOdometer
      @AutOdometer  3 роки тому

      Yeah I’ve seen that WD 40 works but I didn’t know what that would do to the clear coat and didn’t want to risk it on a customers car
