After finishing the first Damien Lewis SAS book the other day, this bloke reminds me of the officer class bureaucrats who would sit in Cairo or London and lobby for the dissolution of the SAS because they did not fit in with their snobbish world view. Having that mentality to begin with is one thing, but the fact that this bloke has it despite only being RAF reserve is sickening and tells you all you need to know about him.
The British Journalism Establishment needs to come off their high horse about their perceived British society... War and or military operations cannot be sanitized.
And so the ritual tribal dance begins; 1. Politicians are shocked and horrified by actions of evil foreign regime in Backwardistan 3000 miles away. 2. Politicians decide to send military to fight evil regime and save Backwardistanis from themselves. 3. War begins and surprisingly (to shocked and horrified politicians) is a very dangerous process where lines are blurred and dark stuff happens. 4. War ends, and other shocked and horrified politicians now demand an investigation. 5. Investigation reveals that war is a very dangerous process where lines are blurred and dark stuff happens. 6. Plus (shock and horror) somebody did something they wouldn't have done it they had just stayed home and watched the whole thing on TV, or better still; nobody had been sent to Backwardistan. 7. A newly elected set of squeaky clean but shocked and horrified politicians demand that the guilty are punished. 8. It's all a huge success - a blow to Backwardistan evildoers have been struck (although nothing really changed), the high standard of our military has been demonstrated and the soldiers doing the actual fighting have been punished as necessary. 9. Last but not least, the right politicians can be reelected - what joy...
Most, though not all of our wars have been unnecessary and you're right, it would have been better for all concerned if our troops had stayed at home. It's a pity that warmongering politicians cant be put in the most dangerous part of the front line and lead by example. That might dampen their enthusiasm for war.
So the British SF are accused of taking-out an enemy combatant before he could deploy the suicide vest that was sat waiting to be deployed in the corner of his living room? Why do you think he possessed an item of explosive sartorial elegance? Was it a fashion statement? Are detonation belts all the rage down at Saville Row?
😊Why is it people like this officer never go after the IRA murderers, the taliban and ISIS murderers, terrorists, the islamists who have killed British soldiers on the streets of the UK. He is being traitorous in all his implied, yet to be proved, allegations against the UK special forces. Has he been employed by Starmer and Co. to do this? And why is he so obsessed with UK special forces. I suspect it’s because he was never anywhere good enough to make it into the special forces so he is now taking this out on real soldiers in the special forces. His body language also gives a lot away. He fidgets like a hyper-active child throughout his presentation. This is, No doubt, driven by his unwarranted obsession with wanting to find fault with the UK special forces. He needs to take some pills, calm down and focus on all the atrocities committed by our enemies instead of our servicemen who constantly put their lives on the line for our safety and our democracy.
