And in the last two years the British fighters were third echelon, ie guys with virtually no experience. @@josneira1827 ukraine is not that big, their manpower that large, nor the Russian rate of advance that fast or that far. It worked in 1812 because of French supply and technology. It worked on 1941 because Russia is huge, had a large population, and the ability to relocate infrastructure. Ukraine has none of this, and most of its industrial areas have already fallen to Russia, as have many of the natural resources.
I was impressed with the commentary here except for one oft repeated Ruzzian trope that a person of this stature and experience should certainly be informed enough not to repeat. This on the topic of the age of military draft in Ukraina. An the current rules there are enough men to be mobilized to increase the current size of the SVZSU, that is, the army, the Ukrainian ground forces to 7x the current size (!). So, any talk of lowering the draft age as some sort of necessity is logically fallacious and just more Ruzzian dezinformatsiya/agitprop meant to dissuade allies and friend of Ukraina in NATO and other Western industrialized liberal democracies from giving to help Ukraine in its fight, and ironically, the entire reason this 7x amount of the SVZSU that ISN'T being mobilized is that they don't have any EQUIPMENT to be mobilized WITH, and, I mean, no helmets, uniforms, Kevlar, AKs, nothing, so it's especially ignorant to repeat the GRU/FSB trope that Ukrainia isn't "all-in" in mobilizing it's population into the military. NOTHING could be further from the truth. The only part of this trope that is correct is that, like other former vassals of the CCCP, Ukrainia did have a big "baby bust" in the 1990s, so those people born then are essential for the future demographic survival of the country, and need to be reproducing right now, this part is correct. But any idea that they are at all needed for military service is a lie, check the website of the EU that deals with Ruzzian dezinformatsiya, they have a good article there if you want more proof of this. If you come across this trope, don't be shy in correcting, even if it's against a big expert like this fellow. It just goes to show how insidious the Gremlin in the Kremlin's lies can be even to the biggest experts. Set folks straight on this, please, do it for the Ukrainian people, because this deceptive trope I've noticed is being oft repeated by MAGA-world as an argument as to why not to help Ukrainia out if they aren't mobilizing all they can. They ARE mobilizing all they can, limited only by lack of equipment and logistics, not by sheer numbers, no, that isn't the truth at all.
It bothers me that NATO-EU countries are not helping out on the western areas of Ukraine by now; if we dont get in there first, countries like India and China will demanding contracts to rebuild Ukraine....and they deserve F.All with the support they have given Ukraine.
Realist Brit here. The major problem here is that the West is thinking in terms of casualties like in a modern war, and the West is simply believing this mantra of 'unsustainability' and hoping the Russians will simply cave in. This won't happen. The Russians are fighting like in WW1 and thinking about casualties in that way. Don’t forget, the British lost 19,000 killed (plus 30,000 wounded) on July 1st 2016 (Battle of the Somme) and with a population then of about 37 million, lost 2.4 of the population killed in WW1. Russia’s and North Koreas combined population is 160 million, (OK, more older people) so theoretically they’ve got at least 3 millions fighters left. The weaponry is the problem, if there is one, not the personnel. The west sits back and hopes that Russia will totally degrade itself. The West should seize this opportunity to put a stop to the war, militarily, and put an end to the Putin regime once and for all.
Agree. I always said nato should have militarily intervened the day Ukraine asked for assistance, from day one of the invasion, whether Ukraine was a member or not. Russia broke all protocols so no reasons whatsoever for NATO not to intervene. Just think how many lives destruction refugees social issues would have been avoided And the moment Russia hinted at any nuclear use let it be it If that's the only language they know what choice is there?
surely you meant 1916 right?,,,, you seriously think Putin won't resort to extreme measures if the west violates Russian territory and sovreignty?....ever heard of LA Bomba?, clue it aint some latin party dance..p
Why? Putin is no threat to the West. Other way around NATO has always been the threat to peace..it is an aggressive thing Has nothing to do with defense It was setup to destroy Russia. NATO is the real problem
@@josneira1827 OK. typo, clearly 1916. And as for la Bomba..China and India have said No No. And that's shooting himself in the foot. By militarily I mean use more 'coalition' planes to win air superiority and destroy his military capabilities, as the Ukrainians are doing already, but on a greater scale. I don't mean Western 'boots' on Russian territory.
Unfortunately it appears Russia can withstand the losses and resource usage better than Ukraine can. In a short war, technology wins, but in a war of attrition with no big technological advantage, it is more down to numbers.
How come Russia has lost 800,000+ men, almost all its armor and artillery and needs help from North Korea…and still have only moved the front line less than a day’s walking distance in three years. Owned!
Kursk was a massive success. Mr Ingram tells those whose loved ones who will never come back. There are people watching who will one day call you to elaborate on the Kursk success
@@shaun1463How? Ukrainians took most their gains here swiftly within days, taking many pows, and Russian losses were significant, single biggest event was the destroyed convoy transporting infantry. Later attrition was tough on Ukraine but they gradually switched to defence and Russians also paying a price. There were supposed deadlines as to when to recapture all of Kursk but Ukrainian presence continued. Today, Ukraine is even advancing on this front, the success of which is still an ongoing matter.
All successful military operations have casualties, the offensive in Kursk is extremely risky and those soldiers may never come home, this is war. If it was a success or not only time will tell. All Ukrainian forces could be wiped out in the next 6 months or it could be given back to Russia as part of negotiations
Maybe Victoria Nuland shouldn't have been meddling in the affairs of foreign nations to carve them up for the IMF, WEF, Blackrock, Occidental Petroleum, etc etc.
Ingram's right it's like the Vietnam war no evidence for casualties. Apparently Ukraine is like US inflicting high casualties winning all the battles, etc.
I remember this channel saying Russia is running out of missiles, Putin is ill, Russia is using human waves. None of this was true. And you told us Leopard tanks would be 'gamechangers'. Then Challengers, then Abrams, then artillery, missiles, and F16's. Still not going your way, is it?
According to Russian ministry of defence you mean** It's also a little weird how this number kind of contradicts their previous assessments from less than a year ago, where they claimed 444k Ukrainians killed and wounded. Did the casualty rates just sky rocket in these last 10 months compared to previous 2 years? Obituary data of killed Ukrainians has remained largely consistent, and wouldn't support such a drastic spike. Besides, none of this really matters considering the source of the claims is Russia itself.
Stalemate is 800 square kilometres lost by September. Jumped in October and November 490 square kilometres French News 24 going up rapidly each month not a stalemate.

Infantry also very little to do. Question. How can superior fire power suffer more casualties. In this war of attrition. Russia is not in the bussiness of capturing territory. Russia destroying Ukraine militarily and economically. Ukraine advised by USA to launch mobilization of all 18 and above population WHY.
At least have your facts right. Ukraine specifically chose the area around Kursk partly because Putin's "battle weary/ hardened" troops of the 122nd and 810th had been moved there for their second reconstitution post an absolute mauling on the eastern front. The Ukrainians had a score to settle with the 810th over war crimes and both regiments, have been, in effect, destroyed 3 times now.
It's like Big Brother battlefield reports from the Malabar front plus lost territory Ukraine says "retreats of kindness" from "the Army of invicibility". Philip Ingram says no a stalemate.
How many killed and wounded? Are you sure? Any evidence of these numbers your are putting forth? Compare it to this .... The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC is inscribed with the names of 58,279 Servicemembers who died in theater from 1957 to 1975 (3). Over 47,000 lost their lives as a result of combat and nearly 11,000 perished from other causes (1). More than 300,000 were also wounded during the war.

These people don't lie because they're idiots. They lie because they think we’re idiots.
Speak for yourself.
What an absolute,top comment.
It bothers me that NATO-EU countries are not helping out on the western areas of Ukraine by now; if we dont get in there first, countries like India and China will demanding contracts to rebuild Ukraine....and they deserve F.All with the support they have given Ukraine.
@@abbottone You’ve just described 90% of the reason why Russia invaded in the first place lol. Kudos.
England should have sent troops in to protect Kyiv in 2022 prior to the invasion or at the very least soon after
"helping out?".....elaborate, because to me it already sounds foolish.
Me too.
Are they still close to collapse, because it seems that you have been making this prediction for a long time?
Im always surprised to see headlines about this war claiming that Russia can't sustain this war, yet it still goes on.
Putin has nukes…. Please use your brain!!
Agree. I always said nato should have militarily intervened the day Ukraine asked for assistance, from day one of the invasion, whether Ukraine was a member or not. Russia broke all protocols so no reasons whatsoever for NATO not to intervene. Just think how many lives destruction refugees social issues would have been avoided
And the moment Russia hinted at any nuclear use let it be it
If that's the only language they know what choice is there?
surely you meant 1916 right?,,,, you seriously think Putin won't resort to extreme measures if the west violates Russian territory and sovreignty?....ever heard of LA Bomba?, clue it aint some latin party dance..p
Why? Putin is no threat to the West.
Other way around NATO has always been the threat to peace..it is an aggressive thing
Has nothing to do with defense
It was setup to destroy Russia.
Never seen so much cope in one comment section.
More gaslighting from our trusted UK media 😂
Unfortunately it appears Russia can withstand the losses and resource usage better than Ukraine can. In a short war, technology wins, but in a war of attrition with no big technological advantage, it is more down to numbers.
Better then the Chinese?

If Ukraine is so good how come they're still losing.

dont worry about how old the account is. worry about not being a brainwashed lemming.
How come Russia has lost 800,000+ men, almost all its armor and artillery and needs help from North Korea…and still have only moved the front line less than a day’s walking distance in three years. Owned!
Shame faced liar.
I think you give too much credence to Trump's intelligence. He hasn't a clue what is going on
He doesn't talk about the crippling losses the Ukrainian soldiers are facing on the battlefield
Kursk was a massive success. Mr Ingram tells those whose loved ones who will never come back. There are people watching who will one day call you to elaborate on the Kursk success
kursk was a massive success for russia is what he meant.
All Ukrainian forces could be wiped out in the next 6 months or it could be given back to Russia as part of negotiations
kursk was a success. so was my attempt to be a billionaire.
@FN-hg2el If casualties negate all talk of success, then the entire Russian invasion, and all their advances in Donbas fall on the same point.

Ingram's right it's like the Vietnam war no evidence for casualties. Apparently Ukraine is like US inflicting high casualties winning all the battles, etc.
lol good one.

This one sounds like the British who have proved to be the best liars on the Russian -Ukrainian war
Is the average Ivanov, Petrov, or Sidorov aware of the high level of casualties?
What about Ukraine loosing one million soldiers
According to Russian ministry of defence you mean**
It's also a little weird how this number kind of contradicts their previous assessments from less than a year ago, where they claimed 444k Ukrainians killed and wounded. Did the casualty rates just sky rocket in these last 10 months compared to previous 2 years?
Obituary data of killed Ukrainians has remained largely consistent, and wouldn't support such a drastic spike.
Besides, none of this really matters considering the source of the claims is Russia itself.
If you believe that number you are beyond help
Forces from the Donbass have been relocated to Kursk
yes ukrainian troops. Especially the special trained ones.
Trumps phonecall gone wrong,..Biden stepping up aid strongly now,...is certainly agreed on..

No way Russia is loosing anywhere near 1500 a day. Thats WW2 your talking about
Nice post so far
How many years have we been hearing this? Putin does not cars, he will find the meat to send to the grinder. The point is Ukraine can’t replace its losses so easily due to smaller population.

At the moment Russia is in super position. 700000 troops on battlefield frontline 500000 in reserve. Tanks not needed in this war of attrition . Artillery and drones name of the game.
Philip Ingram says no a stalemate.
did he say stalemate? thats hilarious.
@shaun1463 yes over 490 square kilometres lost last month is a stalemate. Things are whatever they're paid to say even instead the facts are opposite.
I believe around twenty thousand
How many killed and wounded? Are you sure? Any evidence of these numbers your are putting forth? Compare it to this .... The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC is inscribed with the names of 58,279 Servicemembers who died in theater from 1957 to 1975 (3). Over 47,000 lost their lives as a result of combat and nearly 11,000 perished from other causes (1). More than 300,000 were also wounded during the war.

"Russia cannot sustain the obscene levels of casualty losses " Absurd. The Soviet Union lost between 9 and 11 million military KIA during WWII on a population of 170 million. The current special operation is barely a rounding error in comparison. Even after allowing for a reduced population and aging demographics, they can absorb considerably heavier losses.
Why is Russia using North Korean soldiers if they don't have a problem with losses?
They 'can', but they won't. It's not 1944, comrade. People in Moscow barely even register that a war's on.
