Simon Bachand the forsaken believed that their queen loved them and were for them more than the other races of the horde. Which is why the forsaken loved sylvanus so and cudnt really care much bout the orcs and the trolls or anyone else cuz it was sylvanus they saw as their savior who helped get them into the horde altho the forsaken are greatful for being united with the horde they saw them moreso as a needed asset. But now that their own queen denounced the horde which they are a part of bannerbae had to give her that look of question.. like excuse me u mean the horde besides the forsaken?? Because in the story its said that even the forsaken are getting unsettled because they feel as though their queen has slowly abandoned them when she became warchief. The answer to bannerbae’s question was when sylvanus says you alll are nothing. So its a surprise to the forsaken cuz they believed that their queen served for their purpose as a whole... she helped rescue them from being slaughetered from the alliance and now she chooses to betray them by forsaking them

TheZefarg yeah Broxigar the Red is Varoks brother. When you click on Varok sometimes he even tells you he’s “the brother of Broxigar”. It’s kinda sad the bloodline is nearly wiped out but luckily I think Brox had a daughter or niece and she currently wields the axe that was made for Brox. Not sure if she’s cannon in game but there is still one Saurfang left if she is!
Varian Wrynn died as a Hero and a Legend! Varok Saurfang might have just gone beyond that! Sad still, that two of the most awesome and badass-characters in WoW's lore are gone now...
I've watched it several times today, after seeing it all in game earlier, because of watching UA-cam reactions.... And I've cried every damn time. Such a good cinematic. Saurfang got her to make a blunder, THE blunder. He not only saved countless lives on both sides, but forced her into showing her true feelings, even toward her own forsaken. And I'm an undead warlock... Forsaken for life... I've always loved Sylvanas... Her story is tragic and fascinating, but she's lost her mind. Well. Who knows what her end goal is. But, to those of us who care about life and the natural order of the universe.... Even us forsaken... She's gone off the deep end and forsook us all for her goals.
I just realized… this is the worst thing that has happened to a single character since the equally traumatizing death of Varian Wrynn. And just like the former king of Stormwind… the Highlord saved everyone that day and set an example. I salute our fallen hero, for even if my heart is alliance, we all call Azeroth our home. And just as our combined power did not let Varians sacrifice be in vain… neither will be that of Varok Saurfang! FOR AZEROTH!

I like Sylvanas as a character, that doesn't mean I agree with her terrible deeds of late. She went crazy and fucked up. It happens. Arthas. Another amazing character that unfortunately went off the deep end and made bad choices. And, she is definitely walking in her former abusers footsteps.

She just manipulated them as she always did, honestly I didn’t play BfA for more than 2 weeks combined but from looking at the cinematics they actually made the story come up really well in the end and it all made sense. For me this is well written stuff :)
I'm proudly Alliance, and Varok Saurfang was my favorite character, and my role model as a warrior. I cried because he's gone, and I cried because he finally got his honorable death, and I cried because he defeated Sylvanas. He got one over on her and forced her true colors into the light. I cried because the Forsaken realized that Saurfang was the one who valued their lives, not the Dark Lady. Honor, young heroes, no matter how fire the battle, never forsake it.
Forsaken are nothing without the Horde. The Horde accepted the Forsaken when the Alliance couldn't bear to see them as anything other than the Lich King's rejects. The Horde gave the Forsaken a home, a family. Was it a perfect arrangement? No, nothing ever is. But the Horde gave the Forsaken something worth fighting for, something worth persisting for. Sylvanas's betrayal of her own people is truly tragic.
My all time favorite moment in this cinematic was when that Forsaken looked over at Sylvanas after she showed her true colors. There was so much power in that one look. Love your reaction videos man! I love how genuine and down to earth you are. Keep up the great work! For the Horde!
What I find interesting, as an Alliance player but bifaction lorehound, is how much this humanizes the Forsaken. They've usually been portrayed as a faceless, emotionless, blindly loyal congregation that has absolute faith in the Dark Lady. Unquestioning, lacking empathy for others and rabidly obedient to her. Obviously there were outliers, Lillian Voss comes to mind, but not many others were written any differently until the start of BFA. It makes you wonder how long those that beat out that heartbeat on the battlements have been questioning. That reaction, and Bannerbae's decision to let the rebels in, didn't come from nothing. Somewhere along the line, despite Sylvanas' best efforts and brainwashing, the Forsaken people came into their own. It's oddly fitting.... she was able to lead them away from Arthas *because* they had regained their free will, and now sometime within the last decade that same free will has led them away from under her control. Freaking Forsaken feels, man!
All sylvanas did was to give them a purpose because after gaining free will back they were monster.they wanted back to the alliance but you killed/shunned them.who was there to take them in?the other "monsters" aka the horde.we are family.speaking as a pround undead rogue since day1 vanilla wow ^^
clever tactics from Saurfang, forcing her to reveal her true feelings, she not only betrayed the Horde but her own people the forsaken as well. He may have died but he won, and finally got the warrior's death he wanted. Surely no member of the Horde would follow her now. And of course she just legs it at the end, like she always does, no wonder her name is Windrunner, she sure is great at running....
In his final hour, Saurfang wielded the Axe of a Warchief, and the Blade of a King. Never again will Azeroth bare a Champion more worthy. He lived, a hero....and died....a Legend. Our world is dimmer for his loss. He will be immortalized in song unto the ending of the world. Rest in Love soldier.....and thank you...for your service. For Azeroth!!!

Your reaction at the trailer for BFA got me to play WoW for the first time. This was my first expansion and despite understanding why a lot of old players were jaded, from my fresh perspective it was a blast to play through.
YOU CANNOT KILL HOPE! This was absolute genius on the part of Saurfang! Perfct timing and execution. In one sacrifice, he united the Horde. LONG LIVE THE WARCHIEF! FOR THE HORDE BABY!! =)

Wrathgate references whole scene. Sylvanas just walked out from Gate of Orgrimmar just like the Lich King at WrathGate, the same way the doors opening. Good someone just said that!
Your reactions actually made me return to FFXIV, but man, I was waiting for this one since yesterday and you didn't dissapoint. I needed someone to get emotional and see the nuances that I did because this wrecked me. Sylvanas has always been driven by her pride, even when she faced off against Arthas the first time. It's in WC3 that she implies to keep throwing soldiers because they are bows in her quiver. Her temper has always been her weakness when someone manages to get at it, and Saurfang threw everything he had to make sure he provoked it. But he had no chance at doing that if he didn't lose first then catch her off guard. He never thought he'd win...he was getting the win for everyone else. Just like Varian knew that with his death the rest could escape...making Saurfang say the same last words as Varian, death to horrific magic, and wielding that exact sword(s)...a huge circle being closed as well. And it also firmly, thematically, places Sylvanas as the equivalent of Gul'dan and the Legion. She isn't the ex ranger general anymore, she is the threat to Azeroth. (If the Wrathgate comparisons didn't do that ALREADY which they did, but soooo many threads and symbolism here!)
Anyone else notice in his last charge, Saurfang, yells "For Azeroth!" rather than "For the Horde!"? Fucking chills man.... when Sylvannas revealed she didn't care about the Horde Saurang realized her designs were far more devastating than just the Horde. Seems only fitting that in the end Saurfang die a Warrior of not just of the Horde but of Azeroth itself.

" god I love it when built up tension and anger builds up then rises to the surface! also when ting ting at the end happend it reminded me of the end sound in Endgame were they also went full loop with tony stark and when the end credits playied you herd ting ting what was the sound of him making the first iron man suit in the cave.
The throwbacks and references in these two cutscenes. Dranosh, Varian, even Delaryn Summermoon's "you cannot kill hope" line from the Burning of Teldrassil. Just to name a few.

As someone who has been in the world since lich King and have seen the world on both sides. Even I, a watcher, couldn't see what sylvanas was planning. When I saw this cenimatic, I was shocked at what she said. She's a traitor to the horde, a traitor to the world itself.
The sufang is so legendary that he was the only one who had the honor of using relics of the factions as a weapon in Mak'gora and when he died he was celpulted and carried by a warchief and a king of the alliance really something that neither kings and past chiefs had anything to think about. really hero of Azeroth

Hey Forsaken player here since vanilla and I sided with Saurfang. The irony of Sylvanas is that she's become what she once always hated most...She's literally Lich King with boobs at this point. Down to raising a 'defiant' victim into undeath purely out of spite. Delaryn Summermoon represented to Sylvanas her 'foolish' living self who died trying to save her people (and Sylvanas in A Good War was the one to deal the fatal shot to her too because even though she had multiple arrows in her she was still trying to fight for her people), and her comment about "you can kill us, but you cannot kill hope" made her lose her temper and impulsively order Teldrassil burned (Blizzard confirmed the burning was not planned by Sylvanas and it was purely her encounter with Delaryn that spurred her). I like that they showed that not all Forsaken are blind Sylvanas slaves and are loyal to the Horde itself (they were freed from one undead tyrant already, why serve another one with the exact same goal?). And in the loyalist epilogue she confirms that she misjudged the forsaken and they still cling to life and hope. Yet you STILL see Sylvanas fanboys/girls claiming she still cares about the Forsaken when she blatantly abandons them here for her own agenda. We knew from Old Soldier that Saurfang wasn't making it out of this expansion alive. He wanted his warrior's death and he got what he wanted AND made Sylvanas lose her temper and out herself in front of the entire Horde for the self-serving witch she really is. So he may have died, but he still won.
In 12 years of playing WoW I've never played a Horde character. After watching your reactions to this character's story arc and this cinematic in particular, I created one yesterday and am now playing him. I named him after a Maori soldier during the Second World War who was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery. Seemed appropriate. Thank you for your work.
It makes me happy to see you react with such emotion like this. It means you care about this story, about the characters. Makes me feel like we have that in common, even though you're red and I'm mostly blue.
So much I could say. Clearly the parallels to Saurfang the Younger and Broxigar, Saurfang’s brother, who wounded Sargeras and bought just enough time for the portal to be sealed. I also got strong Grom Hellscream vibes. While he died freeing the orcs from Mannaroth’s influence, Saurfang the Elder died freeing the orcs and their allies from an uncaring tyrant. Anduin Wrynn doesn’t just show his father’s passion. He’s now lived up to the name Varian have him in honor of the Alliance’s greatest hero, Anduin Lothar, who lost his life defending and reclaiming his home.
The moment Sylvanas exclaimed that the Horde was nothing was the moment Saurfang won the fight. Yes, Sylvanas defeated him in battle, but Saurfang won the battle for the heart of the Horde.
It’s funny how in Warcraft 1-3 it’s always been horde vs alliance and now noticing them working together can change so much in strength like Arthas, the legion and nzoth. Just shows how strong together they can be so hopefully next expansion DF what will they face next

What I find interesting, as an Alliance player but bifaction lorehound, is how much this humanizes the Forsaken. They've usually been portrayed as a faceless, emotionless, blindly loyal congregation that has absolute faith in the Dark Lady. Unquestioning, lacking empathy for others and rabidly obedient to her. Obviously there were outliers, Lillian Voss comes to mind, but not many others were written any differently until the start of BFA. It makes you wonder how long those that beat out that heartbeat on the battlements have been questioning. That reaction, and Bannerbae's decision to let the rebels in, didn't come from nothing. Somewhere along the line, despite Sylvanas' best efforts and brainwashing, the Forsaken people came into their own. It's oddly fitting.... she was able to lead them away from Arthas *because* they had regained their free will, and now sometime within the last decade that same free will has led them away from under her control.

All sylvanas did was to give them a purpose because after gaining free will back they were monster.they wanted back to the alliance but you killed/shunned them.who was there to take them in?the other "monsters" aka the horde.we are family.speaking as a pround undead rogue since day1 vanilla wow ^^

clever tactics from Saurfang, forcing her to reveal her true feelings, she not only betrayed the Horde but her own people the forsaken as well. He may have died but he won, and finally got the warrior's death he wanted. Surely no member of the Horde would follow her now. And of course she just legs it at the end, like she always does, no wonder her name is Windrunner, she sure is great at running....

"Let it be finished" his son said the same thing before charging the Lich King. I get more teary eyed every time I watch that clip even more so after I realized that one line before the fight began.
Your reaction at the trailer for BFA got me to play WoW for the first time. This was my first expansion and despite understanding why a lot of old players were jaded, from my fresh perspective it was a blast to play through.

Your reactions actually made me return to FFXIV, but man, I was waiting for this one since yesterday and you didn't dissapoint. I needed someone to get emotional and see the nuances that I did because this wrecked me. Sylvanas has always been driven by her pride, even when she faced off against Arthas the first time. It's in WC3 that she implies to keep throwing soldiers because they are bows in her quiver. Her temper has always been her weakness when someone manages to get at it, and Saurfang threw everything he had to make sure he provoked it. But he had no chance at doing that if he didn't lose first then catch her off guard. He never thought he'd win...he was getting the win for everyone else. Just like Varian knew that with his death the rest could escape...making Saurfang say the same last words as Varian, death to horrific magic, and wielding that exact sword(s)...a huge circle being closed as well. And it also firmly, thematically, places Sylvanas as the equivalent of Gul'dan and the Legion. She isn't the ex ranger general anymore, she is the threat to Azeroth. (If the Wrathgate comparisons didn't do that ALREADY which they did, but soooo many threads and symbolism here!)
Anyone else notice in his last charge, Saurfang, yells "For Azeroth!" rather than "For the Horde!"? Fucking chills man.... when Sylvannas revealed she didn't care about the Horde Saurang realized her designs were far more devastating than just the Horde. Seems only fitting that in the end Saurfang die a Warrior of not just of the Horde but of Azeroth itself.

As someone who has been in the world since lich King and have seen the world on both sides. Even I, a watcher, couldn't see what sylvanas was planning. When I saw this cenimatic, I was shocked at what she said. She's a traitor to the horde, a traitor to the world itself.
The sufang is so legendary that he was the only one who had the honor of using relics of the factions as a weapon in Mak'gora and when he died he was celpulted and carried by a warchief and a king of the alliance really something that neither kings and past chiefs had anything to think about. really hero of Azeroth

Hey Forsaken player here since vanilla and I sided with Saurfang. The
irony of Sylvanas is that she's become what she once always hated
most...She's literally Lich King with boobs at this point. Down to raising a 'defiant' victim into undeath purely out of spite. Delaryn Summermoon represented to Sylvanas her 'foolish' living self who died trying to save her people (and Sylvanas in A Good War was the one to deal the fatal shot to her too because even though she had multiple arrows in her she was still trying to fight for her people), and her comment about "you can kill us, but you cannot kill hope" made her lose her temper and impulsively order Teldrassil burned (Blizzard confirmed the burning was not planned by Sylvanas and it was purely her encounter with Delaryn that spurred her). I like that they showed that not all Forsaken are blind Sylvanas slaves and are loyal to the Horde itself (they were freed from one undead tyrant already, why serve another one with the exact same goal?). And in the loyalist epilogue she confirms that she misjudged the forsaken and they still cling to life and hope. Yet you STILL see Sylvanas fanboys/girls claiming she still cares about the Forsaken when she blatantly abandons them here for her own agenda. We knew from Old Soldier that Saurfang wasn't making it out of this expansion alive. He wanted his warrior's death and he got what he wanted AND made Sylvanas lose her temper and out herself in front of the entire Horde for the self-serving witch she really is. So he may have died, but he still won.

In 12 years of playing WoW I've never played a Horde character. After watching your reactions to this character's story arc and this cinematic in particular, I created one yesterday and am now playing him. I named him after a Maori soldier during the Second World War who was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery. Seemed appropriate. Thank you for your work.

So much I could say. Clearly the parallels to Saurfang the Younger and Broxigar, Saurfang’s brother, who wounded Sargeras and bought just enough time for the portal to be sealed.
I also got strong Grom Hellscream vibes. While he died freeing the orcs from Mannaroth’s influence, Saurfang the Elder died freeing the orcs and their allies from an uncaring tyrant.
Anduin Wrynn doesn’t just show his father’s passion. He’s now lived up to the name Varian have him in honor of the Alliance’s greatest hero, Anduin Lothar, who lost his life defending and reclaiming his home.
The thing that gives me chills is what he says as the fight starts "let it be finished" the exact words his son used at the wrathgate before he died
