The output is 5V but it is a lower amperage than the 1.0- 1.3 versions.
    HTH
The convertors that have a micro usb port on them as well are better for the 1.4.

The Pound converter has a micro USB port on the side for that 5 volts 😀

You can get an 'Xbox to Wii' adaptor, so if you can't solder just plug it into the Wii2hdmi adaptor.

My issue today is with the Kaico one on my Smartxx chip Xbox. Looks great at the dash, run anything though, even the original dash, and it keeps black screening for a second at a time. Tried everything :(

I have exactly the same problem with that Mod, I have used the black version Wii hdmi.
But also have that malfunction the same as you with an Xbox 1.4 cristal is no coincidence.

I've since bought a black one (Wii2HDMI) but again with my Wii console the wavy lines are there....

Turn up the voltage to the power supply, there is a cross-shaped plastic square adjust it. is in front. Buy the adapter kaico that's the name its much better they dont need power just plug the hdmi. Or solder a hdmi board inside that looks better. other than the wii

I am happy using component to OSSC. Also the Kaico cable has the same adapter inside it as the Hyperkin one.

most adapters make it look dark. If you soldered an hdmi board on the inside with just that one, it would look perfect, it looks shiny and removes the lines that get vertical in some games. But if you're happy that's what counts

Just here to confirm that getting a good wii2hdmi board is purely luck of the draw ever since they started cheaping out on the boards. IMO you're better off saving up for that HDMI box from Chimeric Systems instead of gambling with those $5 shitboards lol

have you tried a performance test with a component to hdmi box? retrorgb mentions a cheap one on this page; www.retrorgb.com/xbox.html

Okay couple things I want to go over here in this video. First and foremost good video keep up the hard work. Second you should link in the description of your video a link to my video showing how to make this to make it easier for your subscribers to find the video. That's your decision. I remember that day. This was probably within the first week I figured out how to wire this properly to get good results. You have to remember at this time when this mod was brand new there was no good information on the internet for it at all I seen a picture of somebody do it on a Brazil site. Try to look for wiring diagrams did not exist. I spent two days manually testing and trying out wiring connections to the wii2hdmi in order to work with the original Xbox. Which I actually did figure out two days later and I tested on 1.4. That being said the 1.4 I was testing on had new filter capacitors because it was one of the ones in my inventory that I refurbished for somebody down the road it was just sitting on my bench so I ended up testing on a 1.4. You have to remember at this time I must have Hansard over 500 to a 1000 questions.. the first week this mod was introduced with proper diagrams there was a lot of questions and it wasn't just the group that you mentioned it was posted in there's probably about 10 Facebook groups some of them have nearly 10,000 members. So you can imagine how many questions I was answering. Plus I work a nine-to-five job. And now I have somebody coming on the forms. Posting pictures saying that they're having issues with 480p in the pal region somewhere.. I don't know if you saw the diagrams first but I would have recommended that you watch the video first cuz I do explained what to do and what not to do. You have to remember with this mod there are different revision boards you can receive strum buying the wii2hdmi connector. Not just the one that I Showcase in my video. That's why I specify in the video to make sure you get the black one and make sure it's ntsc. I'm sorry I love my friends in pal regions but my main goal is to get ntsc perfect. I don't know about the other revisions because I feel I succeeded with the black wii2hdmi. So I did not care to pursue on other revision boards because I can just keep ordering this one... you mentioned how hyperkin and pound wires look wavy to you when hooked up to your Xbox you say that you tried on two different Xboxes.. and you also admit that one of the Xbox needed capacitors to be changed but you never did it the same could be said about the other Xboxes well. I suggest changing nose filter capacitors it's a very easy job as long as you have the parts that can be acquired on eBay for dirt cheap. Anyway back on track the thing about hyperkin and pound is that the dport connection wiring does not include the 5-volt.. meaning that they're not even pulling it off the dport. Meaning that their boards aren't even powered. Why would they do this you ask I have no idea? Maybe they didn't know or maybe they didn't care to think that they needed to do it. I cannot answer for those companies. But I know that they're not taking the 5 volts off the dport and this is why they're having issues with version 1.4. That being said the 5 volts coming out of the dport is still a clean 5 volts. The reason why you're having issues with images could be a number of things. It could be the capacitors on your main board the main filter capacitors by the CPU that does alot of smoothing especially when it comes to video output. Whether or not you use the 5-volt coming off the dport. Also it is very common that the through holes in the motherboard on your Xboxes are corroded and is not making proper ground to the bottom cage and the top screws won't screw down. People always seem to forget about this. My recommendation for this is to get a fiberglass pen remove the board from the Xbox. And gently polish up those grounding points where the screws fashion to the bottom of the cage. I would do both sides of the motherboards. I did post to the group showing this result I think a couple years ago this actually helps with the video as well. If this is done in conjunction with capacitor replacement this should clear up a lot of distortion on any revision Xbox... so I recommend maybe try that out as well. But like you said your problem is with your adopter because you were getting the same result with a wii2hdmi using an official Nintendo Wii. Another thing that could be looked at is your actual HDMI cable there could be interference with that the one running from the device to the TV maybe try a different one. I really wish you would have watched the video before you attempted this mod you say in your video that you go back to see if there was anything that you did Miss. That would have helped a lot. That being said if the board is defective no matter which device you hook it up to your still going to get some sort of distortion. As of today I know over 60 people that have had great success with this mod and only one or two people that had a slight issue. But out of those two people they were both using the board that I did not recommend. So that's kind of on them. 10 microfarad capacitor in line would work but I'm wondering what voltage you used? Anyway you make it sound like I ripped your head off in this..lol.. that was not my intention that's why I do not like texting it is lifeless you do not know the mood of the other person. Don't know if they're angry happy sad or what. I will admit it was a little bit frustrating especially answering up to a thousand questions between all the different groups to all the different enthusiast. If you feel I came off harsh I'm sorry that's not what I was trying to achieve. But if you knew from the beginning that board had issues. Why would you attempt using it for this mod? And then posting to the group saying that you're having wavy lines waiting for 20 additional comments on your post before saying that it was defective with the original Wii.. in my opinion it's like putting Tire with no traction on your brand new car. no matter how much tire shine you put on it it's still going to be worn out and not going to last long. Maybe that was a bad example who knows :-). I remember the first week this went viral across the group's you cannot believe how many messages I received in private messaging it's almost like everybody in the group wanted to talk to me about it before they ordered anything when everything was explained in the video that's why I kept posting links. To cut down on all of the private messaging and all the questions I was getting for this very simple mod. Put yourself in my position if you're answering 502 a thousand questions a day and then some guy comes in saying that he has lines after doing the mod not even watching the video you'd be pretty upset as well especially if you found out later that he knew that that board was defective. anyway Dave I don't want to keep going on this.. but I hope you order the right part and I hope you try it out hope you get good success but before that I would definitely recommend changing the filter capacitor by your CPU and cleaning the through holes on your motherboard with a fiberglass pen on both sides as well as the bottom cage where the through-hole sits this will help with grounding..
If you link the video in your description of your video it would help your subscribers find it easier if they want to do it themselves I still stand by this mod and say it's just as good as the most expensive modification available. For much less.. that being said you were talking about some sort of HDMI option that is pure digital. That's impossible unless Microsoft remakes the motherboard completely from scratch that is not true. Let's say they remove the back dport on the motherboard that signal is still analog... no matter which way you look at it 2019 is a great time to be in the Xbox modding scene with all of the different HDMI options available ranging from $5 up to $150. 3 years ago you didn't see this much. So I like the direction we're going with.. if any of your subscribers are interested in making this for themselves I recommend using the black wii2hdmi. And please keep in mind I have never tested in pal regen so that would be up to them to figure out. here is the link to anyone who wants to make this for themselves and save quite a bit of money

Wow that was one heck of a comment :) I am glad you dropped by and thanks for the kind words. Maybe our wires got crossed somewhere as I actually did try it on my anniversary Xbox which did have its caps changed (I did it last year) and unfortunately still experienced the issue with the lines through the image. It came across on Facebook that you were calling me out for suggesting you were lying about testing on a 1.4 xbox which as you know I never said that or suggested anything like it which is why I got pissed. Also the other guy who was posting was also stirring the pot and being unhelpful and to be fair to me posts were all over the place so I often didn't see your reply or to which message you were replying to hence me appearing to be persistent with my questions.

@@DaveDoc1984 it's all good bro. But without sounding like an asshole. If you knew the board had problems prior to the mod you knew that you were going to have issues. Maybe try on a different board hope it works out for you
