I've been wanting a simple, more affordable HDMI adapter for my Xbox, but definitely didn't want a garbage cable. This is VERY attractive to me! I'll look into it.
i have both chimeric/xbox2hdmi both produce little noise. The only thing that doesnt is makemhz+ if you have revision 1.6 xbox soldering mod is easy even for a beginner like me.

But my 4K monitor only recognizes 480i on the OGXbox, and keeps black out randomly at higher than 480p... I am fed up with this, so I absolutely needed the Xbox2HDMI. Maybe next year I will buy it!!!
sadly it's not under 50$ anymore. I'm glad i got 2 of those for 31$US each (+shipping of course), back months ago, even though i got the V2, the only difference is a switch on it that temporarily fixed the V1.0 problem while they were doing a new version without the need of a switch.
Awesome review Gary! Can you see the full startup of the Xbox with this dongle? I have a pound cable and by the time the video is on the screen the startup is 3/4 finished.
I feel like kaico labs shouldn't get a bad rep, they're products are solid, better than average. Sony PS1 PS2 Playstation 1 & 2 HDMI Display Adapter is insanely good.

Just wanted to ask, do your games cut out of signal quite frequently, including during gameplay? I understand the screen might black out when swapping games, but it's doing it during normal gameplay as well.
Looks like it’s the converter is crushing blacks on your display (Halo gameplay at start of the video and Ninja Gaiden at the end of the video). Is your display set for RGB or YCbCr?
I just received mine! Luckily my OG Xbox still works after all these years, haven’t done anything to it yet. Can it be that there is a slight lag with the Xbox2HDMI converter? Or is that normal for the OG Xbox? I honestly don’t remember. I tried Forza Motorsport 1 and there is a noticeable input lag.
Has anyone noticed any faint lines (jail bars) going down the screen while using this device? I tried different TVs, HDMI cables, even got a replacement, but still the same thing. I have an 1.4 Xbox by the way. Could that be a sign that the video capacitors are going bad? I ask this cause I've also noticed some wavy lines going across the screen when using RCA based component to HDMI converters (which is something I didn't experience when I hooked up my PS2 to the same converter).
Hi, i bought one for my PAL OG Xbox and it (unfortunately) dont look very good. The image is too blurry. Even by changing all the displays settings on my Xbox or on my TV, it's impossible for me to have what you've got on your screen. I tested it on 2 differents hdmi cable and the result was the same. My TV in a high quality full HD Panasonic so no problem for the TV.
PAL Is a challenge into and unto itself. I honestly don't know how this would work with PAL systems. But reach out to Mike on Twitter, he'd be more than willing to answer your questions I'm sure of that

Hey, the issue is that your Xbox is PAL. Fortunately, using a softmod (done using a game save exploit) or a hardmod (e.g. modchip, TSOP flash, etc) can help you fix this. There is homebrew that you can run to switch your console to NTSC (US/Canada). The reason is because the original Xbox will only output 480i when in PAL mode. For whatever reason, Microsoft decided to restrict 480p, 720p, and 1080i. When you switch to NTSC (which, btw, won't affect your connection with your TV), you will gain those options in your dashboard settings. Basically, what's happening right now is that you're just getting a normal 480i signal. This is bad because most Xbox games are 480p, which is significantly better looking. Some are even 720p native, and a few (like Enter the Matrix) can do 1080i.

Do you know if it does surround sound well at all? My research shows that they do, their website suggests so as do comments on reddit. I've already got a generic adapter that someone gave me which works fine but only does stereo. Wanting to confirm before pulling the trigger.

I think this depends on your TV and how nice it plays with the HDMI handshake of the adapter. Not all TV's will handle this the same way.

The Pound cable is vastly interior to this! The XBOX2HDMI is more accurate in color, sound, lag, and latency. A definite improvement!
Pound cables are bottom of the barrel. There is nothing worse 🤷🏻♂️
