As much as I LOVE Mordecai, I don't think he's on the same level as Death. He's someone you don't want to mess with sure, but nearly all of Death's scenes in The Last Wish are really horror movie-like. But Mordecai does have a scary reputation from what I've heard, plus, I'm currently reading the webcomic and I haven't reached any scenes of him in a fight yet so maybe my opinion will change.

I like him. He acts in a somewhat same manner to how I would've reacted if I was in his profession. Also, this is just a theory, as I hadn't red any of the comics, and don't know much about Mordecai at this point, but the way in which he seems to calculates his enemies' number of remaining bullets, his own shots, and reaction time based on a clock ticking sound feels like something that a person with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder might do. I know this, because I happen to have ocd myself, and I have quite a long experience with calculating some of the things that I do in my everyday life to try and increase efficiency.
ooo! oo! He does exhibit traits but the constant clock ticking(as a comic reader) is to express stuff about "the old times", since he used to work for lackadaisy! That's why he didn't shoot Ivy, he saw it was the God daughter of the late Atlas

I love tuxedo's so much, so whenever I see him in the pilot, comic, and little side drawings (ESPECIALLY THE ONE WITH HIM AND HIS SISTER OMG), all I think of is how I want to pet him like a little cat.

@@poppi8432 In all fairness, "literally just a cat in a suit" is a recipe for attention on Tumblr in and unto itself. Tumblr in general is also piss poor at acknowledging that not everything is or should be a sexyman.
I gotta say, the amount of hype for Mordecai's pistol shots, only to miss every time is kind of disappointing. Not that one of the main characters should die, but I feel like good storytelling would involve showing how fatal and precise Mordecai's shooting is by having him kill SOMEBODY before they establish the slow-mo clicking effect as a motif of his. That way we associate the effect with "this main character he's targeting may actually die the same way [X character] did". Plus, having Mordecai instantly kill the first person we see him attack would REALLY establish him as an experienced and formidable threat in general.
I think they might show how threatening he is Later on. If You read the Comics, He got some brutal/Gorey kills. I don't want spoil anything if you didn't read the comics yet But He Earned some Nicknames like: Hatchetman, Butcher and Black Death for good reasons.
I get that people were dissapointed but all these shots he missed were quite reasonably missed. The first one, he would probably got a clean headshot if the car hadn't moved suddenly. If you look at the reflection in his glasses, he was aiming for Rocky's head. Secondly, Rocky didn't just randomly turn on the lights. Everyone's eyes had gotten used to the darkness, meaning that sudden light made aiming a lot more difficult. And finally he didn't shoot Ivy due to his internal conflict. And yeah, I can assure, his first introduction is a lot more menacing in the comic. A hatchet. And blood.
It is just a pilot. Pilots exist to give the general characer vibes, their interactions, and what the show is about. Though I don't think giving the Lackadaisy trio a mook for him to kill would have hurt anything. I agree though, if you ignore that it's a pilot it does make him and the Savoys look laughably inept.
I FUCKING LOVE HIM. HIS VOICE...................................................................................................... SUNGWON CHO DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB
The thing about the ticking clock when he's stalking someone or zeroed in with his focus is a fantastic little piece that raises the tension. Subtle but highly effective. And there's another layer to it. This dangerous man, when he's on the prowl, that ticking clock tells the viewer that "someone's time is about to run out". The *other* layer to it is this: Mordecai has done so much dangerous stuff, has seen so much conflict and combat, some truly "main character" levels of it. But he's going to eventually mess up. He's getting older, just like Vincent, and he's made mistakes before as well. One of those times, it will be *his* time that runs out. So when you hear the ticking of the clock, it's not just the prey that he stalks that is in trouble, it's him. Maybe *he* hears it, too?
