Hey mountain mama, My grandmother is Croatian and my grandfather is Serbian. They did not meet in the United States. It was an arranged marriage. My grandfather came down through Canada and my grandmother came over through Ellis Island. They had seven children and yes, I remember some of these meals as a child anyways wonderful video thank you. 🫶🏻
This is my childhood favorite. My mom used to added barley to it. I remember coming home from school (walking 30 minutes in the cold snowy weather) and having this delicious hot soup was like a pure happiness. These are my precious memories from my Motherland Russia ❤
Your videos are always so artfully arranged! Your soup reminded me of the time I spent in Russia as an exchange student- the foods my host mom would prepare for me, the bus trips out to their family dacha, the jars of preserved food from that garden. 🤎 Question: what do you do with all your houseplants during Christmas season? Leave them in place or relocate? We have a small house and I bring in a ton of garland, plus a big tree, and it feels like too much with the multitude of houseplants that live here too 😆 I wondered if you had any tips? I love the rooster ornament- such a great idea! We have saved the tail feathers of our all-time great roosters, the true gentlemen, but typically they are placed in houseplants. I never thought to make ornaments from them! Thanks for another great video. This truly is a ministry- you inspire so many women to live fully in their calling as wives and moms. I will be buying your meal plan for more inspiration. ❤💚❤
My hubby loves anything kielbasa! Love your blog! I've sent my daughter a link for it. I just looked at your Sub's and you are almost 60K!!! Is it just me or did you double in the last 3 months?🤷 I think you found your extra job! WOOT❣️❣️❣️
Yes, it's been growing here! Thank you so much for commenting! I recently started blogging again and forgot how much I missed it. Thank you very much for sharing!
Another great video! This recipe looks awesome! I love history as well, and cooking up recipes from our ancestors. My mom made a soup like this a about 6 years ago, unfortunately she's past since then, but I now wonder if she has a recipe card or note on where her recipe came from. I love your harvest tree.
I use chicken thighs in my soups and stews. They don't dry out and I find they're more flavorful. And I find they're cheaper when I have to purchase them. Although I love chicken cordon bleu and I'll use breast for that. Lol. We all have so many tastes and different ways to make a recipe fit those tastes. Another good vlog.
i’m trying to clock your link to buy the plan and it’s giving me an unsafe error code. Has anyone been able to get to it? Trying to figure out if it’s something with my phone! Great video!!!❤
I’m Romanian born but moved to Australia when I was 3. My paternal grandparents were Hungarian and Serbian. The soup looked delicious.
Soup is perfect when it's snowing!
The soup and the snow!!! ❤

I got so excited when I saw an extra video this week. I loved it Shayla. Ty so much.
Glad to see you embracing the time with all your kids home. I have 3 of nine left. It was a busy but precious time. ❤

I love your harvest tree.
There’s a Polish soup that uses pickles as well.
I’m home sick and that soup looks delicious! ❤
I can't seem to get on your website for the recipe I was going to make it tomorrow! 😅❤
Yum! Excited to give it a try very soon 😁
Hope you enjoy!
