I just noticed your white tile topped kitchen table. I had one of those, it is in my youngest daughter's house now. Our favorite memories with that table are all the times we made cookies and we would put one cookie in each square of tile to cool. We filled that table SOOO many times over the years! Now my Becky fills it with cookies for her three children. God is good.
That's such a sweet memory, I can imagine how much fun that would be! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, I enjoyed reading it and appreciated it!
The bread (water)trick is how we in Austria bake our bread also. I love all your videos ❤ Originally from Scotland, watching from Austria. God bless you and your family🙏🏼
Wow! An extra video. I was so excited. This was so great. Your home is so beautiful. It always looks decorated. I love the snippets where you interact with your children. It's funny and so real. Ty Shayla, you are so amazing.
Lovely video. For sourdough starter, have you heard of the practice of moving it outside once or twice a year for a couple days during warmer weather? The idea is that it rejuvenates it and allows for a diversity of microbes that are in balance. I place mine in my garden under the shade of a larger plant, covered tightly with fabric and a rubber band. I’ve done this for the past few years and I really do think it works.
Your videos are so relaxing to watch. You have so much wisdom, and this is the part of the internet that I love. Being able to learn from wise homemakers who have been doing this for years and give their tips for those of us who need a little help in our journey.
I grew broom corn this summer on a whim, and it’s a beautiful easy decor option! It has all those awesome autumn colors - gold, tan, burnt orange, deep burgundy, purple. It also looks awesome growing at the back of a garden plot and is quite drought resistant once established. And if you get the right variety it doubles as a grain! I made a nice arrangement with a free (from the landfill) birch limb, broom corn, large pine cones, and some evergreen greenery that I’ve had lying around. I stuck them all in an antique metal can I’ve had for years and wrapped a burlap ribbon around. I didn’t find time to decorate my porch or house this autumn. I have also been busy, and it’s all fell to the back burner. Luckily though, we have had a mild autumn and my summer flowers are still going! I haven’t been managing them as I generally would make time for in the summer, but God’s been watering them for me. 😁
My same sentiments about the ending of summer. Love your show, so so much! Thanks for blessing us with the beauty, charm and education of your lovely videos.
Love seeing your jars you’ve canned! I dream of being that good about canning. I love to do it but I struggle to make it happen with babies at my feet and just getting supper on the table. Can’t believe the amount of jars you scored! Beautiful video!
I was so happy with a bonus video. Love watching them . Sheila you have such a beautiful home, you make it so nice with all your wonderful decoration ideas. You're such a good mama and homemaker I admire you. Lots of love from Ottawa Ontario Canada ❤
Took me a few days to get through this all but I love compilations and do my best to watch it all so you can get your time in for it too. Is your jewelry all vintage? I forgot how cool your bedroom became after you painted it and such!! Moody! Love all the homemaking things!! I loved seeing all the things in the garden especially.
Your videos are so beautiful and soothing. I can't do fake scents in candles. I started pouring my own with bulk pure beeswax. I am not sensitive to it.
Thank you for the wonderful video shayla! There were so many good and practical ideas I was wondering if you could do a video about how to handle this type of situation in a godly way. I have had a kitchen that feels a bit dark and gloomy to me because our cabinets are wood. I have asked my husband repeatedly over the last 5 years if we could paint the cabinets, but he said they are solid wood and he doesn't want to paint them. The finish is worn and damaged in quite a few areas because the cabinets are probably 30 or 40 years old. They are not hideous, but it would make me so happy to be working in a kitchen that felt brighter and more cheerful. I would really like to just start painting them and deal with the fallout later, but I know that would not be wise. Do you have any suggestions for changing your husband's heart when he is set against something you find important? I have tried not to feel resentful. I do not tell him how to keep his office at work and I wish he would not tell me how to keep my work space! Thank you for all you do to encourage mommas 💕

Apparently tallow is also a great fat to use for wooden cutting boards

Regal green for the wall. I don't like chili either. I make it for my husband and can it for him for a quick meal.
The green color would be beautiful on the wall!!
Perfect thing to watch while I get some cleaning done

Try life extension vitamins. Most vitamins you can buy in stores are garbage.
For the fall EO spray is it rubbing alcohol or like vodka?
Sorry I was mostly listening while making food but rewound and saw you pouring the rubbing alcohol. Thanks and God bless ❤
