The way I understood it was the mob was paid a $2500 monthly living stipend plus a $2500 monthly salary. Whatever money they made from streaming was theirs to keep. They chose to live in a 10k a month house and Froste chose not to stream. 100T was losing money on his ass. Hell, the 85% probably went straight back to pay their living stipend.

85% normally is a red flag and in an industry where companies tries to and successfully had squeeze as much off someone and leave them to rot, you have to be wary of those shady practices so I think they said that with the understanding of that.

That said, I do think Froste is a dummy based on what I've heard. He's basically a teenager. He has more than most would and had use to succeed but instead he makes all the bad decisions. Then again I'm still just a bystander.
Edit: and seeing the contract, I can see myself as a teenager blaming that for oppressing me from doing anything because it's demotivating, cause it kind of is. And missing the fact that it's 40% or more of a really big pile of money

So if you are a steamer, you get paid 2.5k a month to fulfill your sponsorship duties once a month or whatever and on top get a commission and are free to earn/stream money on your own for the rest of the time, that's a good deal, no?

these streamers have a tiny bit of experience in brand deals so they assume everything is like how it is with them... but it wasn't. Moist/ludwig were talking out of their ass about the sponsorship percentage. Its an org deal that gets handed down to them. It's not their sponsorship... its the orgs that they GET to do the activation for. It's not like an agency getting YOU a deal... the agency got 100T the deal. I don't understand how hard it is to understand this. Imagine signing a 60k contract at 200 concurrent viewers and think you got taken advantage of that you ONLY got 30k from ONE SPONSOR.

Complete speculation, but Nadeshot said he had to fight to get The Mob signed. I'm going to throw out that the 85% cut from sponsorship deals given to The Mob by 100T was what it took for others to agree to sign The Mob. The Mob had practically no value before 100T and were a bad investment if signed normally, so Nadeshot had to propose a 'bad' deal to get any deal at all for them. Nade also says that they didn't even take the 85% cut on some of the sponsorships as that number was what was allowed by contract.
Edit: Also 100T took no % from their stream or video revenue which is big.

You can speculate the other way just as easily. I mean just put it together, 100T already has inventory of brand deals and needs to get them somewhere, they don't really care if the streams are succesful or not, the deal is just someone who streams with their brand does the sponsorship. They get some young naive guys, sign them a contract where they take 85% and then give them some sponsors they already had laying around. Quick 35% on 200k. People make it seem like they work 24/7 to scramble some sponsorship deal together while they probably have more in their inbox than they can respond too. I don't doubt they also want to grow talent, but the very fact that they wrote in 85% as a possibility just screams they're looking to squeeze as much out as they can as their first priority. (The fact that they didn't do that in the end doesn't make it less of a red flag)
Why would you speculate in favor of a company? Makes no sense imo. Idk why you would take something like 'I had to fight for them' more serious from a CEO than what the numbers in the contract imply.

If you're not aware of 6050 and Optic House, you could check some Hecz content. They were living and grinding together, sponsorship money pretty much went to Hecz to pay for the house and utilities, only money they earned back then didn't even come from streaming and UA-cam that much but them destroying people in wagers, so listening to Atrioc for this point just shows how little he knows about the person he's talking about.

Nobody seems to realize that 100t is also paying a salary of 60k and giving huge exposure to very small creators, literally the only method to make money for 100t is to bring sponsors in and to have the mob fulfill those contracts, 85% cut is fair considering that the mob wasn’t even averaging a combined 1000 viewers. The mob also retains all earning from merch, twitch, UA-cam, etc, the only thing they give up is 85% of sponsorships. They also didn’t fulfill very many of their contracts and half assed them (admitted by froste himself) at the very least they could have used 100t to grow their own presence through collaboration and daily UA-cam videos, then 100t could bring in bigger sponsors and you actually have the viewer count to negotiate a better deal. Instead froste did nothing, wasn’t proactive, doesn’t grow, then gets fired and complains

Meanwhile: Only has 100 Viewers, Never Worked/Streamed, and chooses to stay at 10k rent rather than leave a go to a 5k house.
Why is it hard for people to understand that leverage is used in deals (That is negotiable, the cut is always going to be negotiable), and Incentives/Rewards are based on the OUTPUT you can deliver.
Should A small streamer be compensated the same percentage as Big Streamer?
Should a streamer that was given a deal be compensated the same as streamers who bring the deal?
Should a streamer THAT DOESN'T STREAM be compensated 90%?
    HELL NO.

85% is not alot at all. The mob is being paid 2,500 free use money and 2,500 for content/stream gear per member per month. $5,000 x 12 months thats $60k per member per year. 2years they were hired x 4members x 60k = 480k salary for 2 years. How is this suppose to be paid with only 10% cut on 3 brand deals they did, which was 200k for fireball, 100k for elgato, and last 100k for another sponsor. 10% = 40k to pay 480k salary?

And also as a “content creator” would they not retain 100% of the revenue they generate on their non-sponsored streams (like their normal monthly payouts)? So in theory they could have made more money from just streaming a ton and getting the recognition from being apart of the 100T brand name.. if he only streamed 129hrs in a month max, then he is going to struggle the same as any other streamer.. still have to put the time in to make the money..

I don't think people understand the justification for the 85%. If a e-sports organization signs a new creator to a salary, the offset the risk by taking up to 85% from sponsorship deals to match their salaries. Instead of thinking of a person selling their home, imagine you own a real estate company and you hire a brand new real estate agent with no experience and give him a salary, in order to offset the large salary you create a incentive program where they make 15% of commission percentage (average 5% of the deal) and the real estate company retains 85%. If the agent salary is $75,000/yr and he starts doing well and he starts selling $10M in real estate a year thats $500,000 they bring in, and his cut would be $75,000, yes the RE agency brings in $425,000, now that seems like the agency is taking a lot. On the other end similar to the Mob, If the agent salary is $75,000/yr and he doesnt do well and he brings in $500,000 in real estate sales, that's $25,000 in commision of which he gets $3,750 in commissions and only brings the company $21,250, if the Agent cant hit a revenue closer to his salary than his performance will most likely cost him his job.

No you don't understand Froste makes no money. He said he streamed and made 2k. 2k a month anyone can earn with an hourly job. Nadeshot took a chance on a nobody and gave them a chance to grow into a massive streamer. The 85% is fair because Nadeshot is taking a chance on them. The 85% is temporary if he grew into a big streamer he could renegotiate or leave the org. It took years for every big streamer to get to where they are at. Froste thinks he's pulling thousands of viewers. He's delusional. Also none of those sponsorship deals are possible on a 100 viewer streamer without someone batting for you. No 100 viewer streamer is getting sponsorships paying them more than 100 bucks. If you had 100 viewers go and try to make a deal with any big brand they will laugh at you. • @cognition26
      @cognition26 Рік тому

Here's the thing your comparison is terrible. For real estate agents to start making any real money it takes years of networking. 80% of real estate agents fail in their five years and after that most quit. 100T is coming up to new real estate agents and telling them I'll funnel clients to you but I take 80% the first 2 years. No driving around for hours a day, no signs, no cold calling, no mailing propositions, etc. just here's some clients. Please convince them to buy a house. 100T is taking a chance on them hopefully they know how to find the right house for their clients and hopefully get their clients to buy it. @Sephiroth32vergil Рік тому +8

They were 100 viewer streamers then they got signed by an org that could multiply their viewership 100 times over. For the duration of the contract which is probably a year or two. So 85% is their price for exposure for a year or two. If after that time you are much greater as a brand then you can negotiate a new contract or go out on your own. The 85% on the contract is probably so that 100T can cover costs of getting the deal but only take what they think is fair, which is why Nade said they only took about 35%.

Charlie’s take wasn’t that good, 100 thieves paid froste 60k a year and all they asked in return is 85% of sponsors, any other income from streaming, merch, UA-cam etc, belongs 100% to froste. 100 thieves are also the ones finding these sponsors and setting them up, which takes employees and office space, for someone with only 100 viewer average the only way 100 thieves doesn’t lose money is if froste fulfills every contract, and as froste said, he didn’t fulfill very many. Froste would actually have to put the work in and grow his channels significantly before 100 thieves would make any real money from the deal that they gave froste

What people fail to understand is yes.. 85% is a lot, agreed. But when you're a small streamer and the org is taking a chance on you providing you with their resources and ecosystem they have to make their money back one way or another. The mob didn't pull through and I guarantee you if they did ended up blowing their contracts would've been renegotiated with a new and more fair percentage. Dude's had access to some of the biggest creators in the platform, sat down next to Valkyrae (streamer of the year award winner btw) on a big 100t event and still ended up fumbling the bag.

Average commission rate for people who work in sales is 5% at entry level and 30% for successful, established sales agents. So by these metrics even if 100T took 85%, the mob were being paid on the higher end of the spectrum percentage-wise.
