Reach Archdragon Peak.
Archdragon peak is a secret area in Dark Souls 3. To get there you need to learn the "Path to the Dragon" gesture. You can get this in the room after Oceriros, the Consumed King. Interact with the knight sitting in front of the fountain.
Once you have it, head to the Irthyll Dungeon. You want to go outside near where the shortcut elevator is. There's a few knights and dragon looking people looking out to a palace on a cliffside. You want to use the Path to the Old Dragon gesture on the unoccupied rug. Do this gesture for a good few seconds, a cutscene will play and you'll get transported there. Walk forwards until "Archdragon Peak" appears on the screen and the trophy will unlock. You can fight the "Ancient Wyvern" Boss here as well as "The Nameless King".

I don't know, but I'm willing to bet that the official DS3 strategy guide gave massive hints towards finding this area. :)
There is a message in Yhorm's boss room saying something like a storm is required to slay a greatwood. The curse rotted greatwood zone is where we first meet siegemeyer of catarina. There are two storm rulers, siegemeyer traveled here to collect the one used to keep the 'cursed' greatwood in check. I think it is fairly reasonable to assume the curse rotted greatwood could be the one Yhorm failed to protect. The guys in the cage even say step into the cage to become Nana's shade -> signifying maybe the curse rotted greatwood is feminine. Conclusion: There were two storm rulers to keep Yhorm and his Queen in check.
Greatwood is the last name of Yhorm, therefore maybe Yhorm forsaked his shield when he saw what his people did to his waifu?

im hella sure this is disproven?? or not really its just theres a cut message saying something storm sword is required to kill yhorm not the greatwood and it might be a mistranslation its soulsborne game are horroyingly filled with mistranslation like elden ring ranni ending where she says shes going make the sword extremly depressing and some other shit and appereantly is different

It's not a conspiracy, that message is just to let the player know that they essentially need the Stormbringer sword to bear Yhorm. Like the messages in Ferron Keep that tell the player they need to put out three fires to progress past the big gate.

The first time he saw the carpet with the dragon on which you find the stone "meditanting" (as he said), he thought he could do a similar gesture, and when he found "Path Of The Dragon" Gesture he got all over excited because he understood that IT was the gesture, and so he figured it out just by himaelf

That's very much up to chance. The dots are vague and he was lucky to have connected two random ones through memory. If there was a non-respawning enemy near the carpet that would be somewhat indicative.
I mean its kind of obvious if you think about it, you can see the dragon sitting there with that gesture, and theres an empty mat beside him, so if you knew about the gesture, your first instinct would be to use it there, would it not?
I'll always have a love/hate feeling for these kinds of secrets. It's fucking awesome to discover them but I always found them on NG+. Upper Cathedral Ward or Cainhurst in Bloodborne and The Painted World in DS1 come to mind. Glad DS3 allows you to start NG+ when you want to rather than right after the final boss.
Damn that would suck to miss out on the painted world on your first playthrough, and to miss out on the hidden boss under anor londo ect ect

He's not the easiest boss but not too hard either - certainly no one who can't defeat him would want to set foot in archdragon peak
How the FUCK did Fromsoft expect anyone to figure this out for themselves? This shit and the convoluted NPC quests are the reason why you need to have a wiki open on our phone while playing the game at all times.

You can get to the spot where you need to do the gesture way more quickly if you go from the bonfire at the profane capital

i was trying to understand why the hell i cant find any old dragon gesture anywhere....
Lmao i just got that gesture after defeating the boss and my 10 year old brother who always watches me said that he saw someone that looked like the boss in the dungeon so i went there and we laughed at how he looked and how all the bodies sat the same way then i noticed it's the same as the gesture i got and told my brother and he told me sit with them and keep them company as he was laughing that's how i figured it out. I thought it was too strange to be a coincidence but i remembered that he doesn't know english and doesn't know how to use youtube so that's a lot better than searching for it

+squalltheonly That doesn't necessarily mean anything. With the closing of the ages and the lord souls all out and about, it distorts time and spacial reality. It's why you can go to Irithryll and it's day and in Lothric the Dark Sign sun shines bright.

Out of interest I don’t understand how you would need to get there if you haven’t done the zone, why is this? I thought you needed to do this zone because it gets you to a lord of cinder way before you need kill the guy who gives you the emote.
Also there is one very very short cut here. You go to the bonfire he went to but instead of running left through the two jailers you go straight. It’s quite simple. You should do the area before searching out more!!!!!

I already love this game for the sole fact the enemies are actually diverse. DS2 i swear it felt like there were 3 or 4 types
they were all dudes in armour in dark souls 2

How can you not like the secret? Some people here are salty that there is no implication and no lore. I remember being at that place standing next to the sitting dragon and appreciating the view. I felt it was a strange depiction but I already forgot that I had this gesture. I can imagine that one player actually sat right beside the dragon with the dragon gesture and discovered the secret. The game really is just something else.
