For the most part I would agree with you, except for when he does the fast quarter circle around you which breaks camera lock, that move killed me the first time he did it as I didn't know the timing of the inevitable attack.
The camera is flawless, just don't lock on during most parts of the first phase. They gave you all the tools you needed long before this fight by giving you bosses such as Wolnir, the Greatwood, and even the Old Demon King and Sulyvahn. Your mistake for not picking up on it. These days I like the first phase as much as I like the second. It's grandiose like nothing else.
Not on a corpse. It's just laying there. Meaning he probably just threw it away, so he could transform into one of those emaciated demonic deer creatures in the next room. Another theory is that Orestien is the King of Storms. The dragon The Nameless King is riding. Everybody else was trying to turn into a dragon, Orestein could of just got it right.
People who fight dragons invariably end up allied with them... he's not wrong. Look at Gwyn himself, allied with Seath the Scaleless since the beginning.
Wait a minute... The Nameless King is the god of the Warriors of Sunlight, yes? And Ornstein is a knight of the Nameless King? So... Ornstein is a Sunbro!
"War is supposed to be waged for what we believe in. Not to erase our opposition from existence." That final bit (along with that shot of the Ashen One clashing with the Nameless King) is just GOOD writing. It must've felt good nailing that bit. You did the character's nature justice. You go Vaati. You go.
@@NobleDankLord HAHA lol, i did it on my 1st try. Thunder speckleplate ring+ring of steel prot. + Winged knight set + spirit tree shield + fire buff works well for me.
i agree that shot was badass, a very well put together video indeed. I just started playing dark souls (dark souls 3 being my first souls experience) and all of the lore is super interesting
I'm actually surprised you didn't mention how, right after defeating the Nameless King and exiting the battle area, you find Ornstein's armor just lying there on the ground, suggesting that was his final resting place, reunited with his master ; n ;
Ornstein is one of the dragon statues upon arch dragon peak. When he found the nameless king, he forsook his armor and fully embraced the path that his king had started.
The thought of Havel going around giving dragons concussions and blunt force trauma by bopping them on the head has always been my favorite thing to imagine about him.
BigHummer1994 I always thought it was a sort of "throwing off all earthly possessions save only his blade" type thing. Like he goes to this mountain castle and becomes super enlightened and has no need for the armor any longer.
I’ve seen someone talk about that detail how NK seems reluctant to power himself up using his companion’s carcass, and how Smough doesn’t show the same reluctance when crushing Ornstien’s corpse Which, i feel is fine because Smough is an executioner, and a cannibal, no less He could very well be a psychopath or sociopath, or maybe just an extreme sadist
@@michaelz.3993 Actually, there are hints that Priscilla's mom might be Velka, Goddess of Sin. That would explain why Priscilla was banished to the painting, since Velka seems to be a rouge deity whose powers (the Occult) is harmful to the gods.
@@illseeyaonthedarksideofthemoon Oh, I'm not saying she was forced, but the gods feared her lifehunt ability and having her confined to a place where she wasn't a threat to them would have been a great relief. At best it was a compromise that both sides found agreeable, since Priscilla apparently wasn't fond of the real world.
I don’t know if this is a popular theory, but I believe that the Stormdrake is in fact, Ornstein. We all know that you have to remove all your armor to use a dragon stone, and Ornstein’s armor can be found not on a corpse, but on the ground, discarded. This could mean that he joined the Nameless King and became a dragon.
That's crazy. I would like to believe it but storm drake is too colossal to come from a human. Also, using the dragon stone would give him a more dragonic from, not wywern like
Funny, how Gwyn allowed the world a right to an end, but when his end came he refused it, causing a repeat of the age of ancients, until one of three powerful undead turn their back on the cycle, and allow the world to progress.
Dragons + Heide + Nameless King are the true rulers. Gwyn hated dragons and humans, Vendrick had good intentions but ended up being corrupted by Nashandra. Aldia and Ornstein are true heroes (and Velstadt for his loyalty of course). Long live Heide and the ancient dragons! Can't decide between Way of Blue/Blue sentinels and Sunbros.
From countless hours in the game and doing soo much research I finally figured out why nameless king betrayed gwyn and sided with the dragons. It was because of two reasons from which the main one was because gwyn sacrificed fillilanore to trap the darks souls in the ringed city, nameless king had undying love for his youngest sister, now how does this make sense ? If you look closely at fillianore's church you'll see circle like curvings on the walls, ground which matches the ones at archdragon peak where nameless king stays. This proves his dedication and love for his sister even in a state of hollow. Second reason is he somehow realized that the dragons were the only creatures that can consume the dark of the abyss and stop its spread, just like darkeater midir. Gwyn couldn't believe and for being racist against the dragons he exiled his firstborn and stripped off his title as the god of war. For me I think Gwynsen's (NK) betrayal makes sense and if I were him I'd probably have done the same. He sacrificed everything for the greater good and if only gwyn would've listened all the tragedies wouldn't have ever happen in the first place. But oh well, its dark souls soooo.. 😬
I love your theory and agree with it. One thing I’ve been thinking of is the floressa lion knights. The pledge themselves to a unknown god of war. I dont think gweynsen did nothing after his exile. Maybe he fought i other wars in different lands earning him the name Faraam and the floressa lion knights worshipped him. Only a theory but i think it checks out.
Gwyn exiling his son is the most innacurate thing ever. And there is proof in game in both the japanese and localization that proves that the Firstborn was exiled after Gwyn's death most likely by Gwyndollin.
Gwynevere was born to soothe the kingdom... Gwyndolyn was born to maintain the illusion of the gods Filianore was born because Miyazaki watched and old movie and wanted to steal a design.
"For war is supposed to be waged for what we believe in, not to erase our opposition from existence." VaatiVidya What a beautiful quote Vaati! I even googled it thinking you may be quoting some awesome warrior king. Great video, but this quote is the gem. Thanks buddy
VaatiVidya: ''War is supposed to be waged for what we believe in, not to erase our opposition from existence.'' Nazi Germany and Islam: Hold our beers.
I like the theory that Ornstein turned into the stormdrake that nameless rides on. Makes sense with how the whole area is about people turning themselves into dragons, the fact that bits of ornstein and smoughs boss fight music is used in nameless kings boss fight and that would explain why nameless hesitated when absorbing the drakes power. Also helps that O&S do the same thing in their second phase
@@drip5952 it does in English but sometimes it doesn’t translate over correctly. I had doubts when watching this video but then hearing the bits of O&S theme in Nameless’ theme kind of makes the theory a little too “coincidental”
@@drip5952 These are the Warriors of Sunlight we are talking about, specifically the Patron Deity of the Sunbros and the OG Sunbro. Fighting to tame, after Ornstein transforms himself into a dragon, is exactly the kind of thing they'd do.
So it's a darker version of How to Train Your Dragon. Those bred to kill the dragons eventually find out that the dragons aren't so bad after all, and befriend them. Gwyn is basically Stoick the Vast and Nameless King is Hiccup.
Xtazic He would have exiled his son if he didn't kill him first. The parallels between the two are minor but they do exist. Dragons is more of a kids show as we all know so of course he forgives the dragons and doesn't exile his son but if we look at it with the eyes of logic and reason then we begin to see that given the chance and option which he had in the movie, he would have exiled his son for his perceived betrayal the same way Gwyn did with the nameless king. Like I said its a kid movie so some kids wouldn't understand the concept of betrayal or banishment. Us adults and some kids would however. Just my thoughts on it.
Nameless is my favorite character in DS3, its a pity he hollowed by the time we get to him, would'a been cool to have a seriously OP summonable, but after that fight I think you deserve it. Great vid Vaati
The Kniving Complex Is he even hollowed? We know only humans become hollow, not gods. And he doesn’t seem to be insane, as he is quite calm and collected in his cutscene. It’s true that he is withered and has a skeletal appearance, but he does seem to be aware.
@@purpleheart9160 his soul was burnt away tho. Hollowing is just the loss of soul. Gwyn burnt his soul to rekindle the first flame and consequently became hollow. gods can become hollow if their soul is destroyed, but do not "naturally" (or rather unnaturally) hollow as humans do as a consequence of the undead curse. The undead curse was created by the Gods themselves so it would make little sense for it to affect the Gods

NK, or Gwynsen/Faraam, is my favorite boss in DS3. I treated this beautiful bastard like something requiring a major prep session. Readied a Drakeblood Greatsword +10 for his Stormdrake, and the Onyx Blade +5 for him. He truly befit the image of a God of Lightning and War. And his weapon is my favorite weapon; worth a Faith/Dex build.
While this video is nicely presented, I think you're underestimating how purged and brutalized the dragons really were. As we can discern from Seath, the Everlasting Dragons were a sentient, sapient species much like the "gods"/humans who had souls. After the war, the only dragon-like beings present live in tiny numbers at the fringes of society, such as the Valley of Drakes, and they only have two wings -- some don't even have arms or forelegs anymore. Even the Nameless King specifically "tamed" the Storm Drake rather than allying with it like one would a fellow person. Added together, this means that Gwyn so thoroughly devastated the dragons that the remainders literally regressed (or negatively evolved in their case) into mere ANIMALS. Their sapience was lost, as well as a chunk of their sentience. The dragons themselves were forced into a sort of hollowing that removed even their limbs and turned them into not just slaves, but beasts of burden. As such, I don't think there's any kind of begrudging or hypocritical alliance or coexistence in cases like the DS II Dragonslayer and the wyvern outside his arena, or even with the Nameless King and the Storm Drake. There is only a constant reminder of how far the dragons have fallen. Even worse for the dragons, the one possible survivor of old might not be a real dragon. As per the Dragon Head and Torso Stones' descriptions in Dark Souls III, warriors who partook in dragon worship "from ancient times" visualized Archdragon Peak as they meditated. This is disconcerting, as the Stone Dragon at Ash Lake is in this exact same pose, and as such may merely be a transformed human. This would certainly explain why the Bonfire down there is already Kindled, as well as why Maneater Shells, seemingly Seath's creations, are down there but the area is otherwise abandoned by the world above. As we can see from the deceased, crumbling dragon people all over Archdragon Peak, this meditating transformation ultimately does nothing to make someone everlasting. That revelation might explain why the Stone Dragon is left undisturbed by Seath, as well as why the Stone Dragon's presence, even through acolytes, vanishes after DS I. Even more worrying is that the Twinking Dragon Head Stone might be saying that the mirage head is of the first human to become a dragon-like being, meaning that the entire root of the Path of the Dragon groups is just worshiping fellow humans, not even the dragons themselves. What's especially damning is that this mirage resembles the giant stone dragon on the mountain that oversees the altar with the Twinking Dragon Stones, meaning that even this colossal stone life form might be a human after all. With that in mind, the Twinkling Dragon Head Stone's note that only one person can complete the journey to the old dragons is suddenly not knowledge, but a deranged guess of a cult that can't produce results, and that would further explain the inherent violence of fighting to the death to "ascend" -- something that certainly hasn't seemed to help the adherents stay alive any better than the genuine dragons did. Taken together, this might explain why the Nameless King, who seems to have been afflicted with the Darksign, is hollowing at Archdragon Peak. He may have realized how thorough the genocide really was, how utterly lost the dragons, their beliefs, and everything about them was, and that there was neither no one left to apologize to nor anything to potentially gain from the denizens. With time, he learned that there were only cultists who became miserable goat-like things, cultists who became pitiful snake men clad in rags, and a bell that pretended these transformations and Highlander-esque fights to the death were worthwhile. Perhaps that despair might be why messages warn that ringing the bell is against the Path of the Dragon, as the Nameless King now decides to just strike down anyone foolish enough to pursue that wasteful endeavor.
Someone made a theory that the Ash Lake dragon is actually a true Everlasting Dragon, and that, since the bonfire is Kindled, maybe even a Firekeeper. Also, the last time I checked, it has a tail which can be cut off for a weapon. Only true dragons can do that.
@@VERGILGASM It's more likely that a Firekeeper was sent down there first then became a dragon than a true Everlasting Dragon being made a Firekeeper and left alone by Seath. The Hellkite Drake drops a tail weapon too.
The dragons were sadly victims of their own might and brutality. Humanity knew they would have to utterly devastate the entire draconic race, the humans couldn't just beat them and sow for peace with them afterwards. The dragons were far too ruthless for such a thing, instead beings like the nameless and Ornstein fashioned not just a war upon the dragons but a merciless Holocaust. The dragons were so adamantly annihilated, pulled down from their lofty seats as it were, that it literally changed them on a genetic level. They carry with them a racial scar that had been ingrained so deeply by humans, so as that no living dragon would ever dream of trying to subjugate the human race again. Mankind humbled the draconic race so utterly that most breed of current dragons are mindless animals, where once even the least ancient dragon would've been deemed a god by the ignorant. But like I said, the dragons had to be beaten down like this, they ruled far too cruelly and possessed far too much power, the Lord's knew that so they had to grind the ancient dragons into dust so they could never rule over humans again. It's really interesting stuff.
My theory on Nameless King's name: "Maelgwyn" Maelgwyn is Welsh (like Gwyn's and most of his children's names) and apparently means something like Battle and Prince. Can you think of a more suitable and likely name? It's in line with the tendency of most of Gwyn's children to carry "Gwyn" in their own names. Not to mention, it sounds like Mal-Gwyn, like a malform of his father's ideals.
Some random guy on facebook told me that by ethymology, the nameless Kings real name must be "Gwyndalf" (given the danish root, and paternalist conjugation; thats why it's "Gwynevere" for the female, also i was shocked that a Lot of girls in denmark actually go by that name :o )
"Gwyn" doesn't necessarily have to be in the name -- Filianore and Yorshka are his daughters, after all. Plus, if his real name is actually Faraam, it would pair nicely with Filianore, Gwyn's youngest.
Nameless King is probably one of the sadest story in the series, he sacrificed everything to save the dragons, made a safe haven for them and the ones that worship them, but was killed just for more power... I mean, seriously, there is absolutly no point for us, the ashen ones, to go there and murder all of what he has worked for... I say we boycot the Nameless king fight to save him !!! At least he is an optional boss, not like Sif... poor Sif...
Yeah, most of my runs through DS3, I only go to Archdragon Peak just to get Ornstein's set and the Dragonslayer Spear, and leave the Nameless King alone. He just wants to live in peace with his dragons and those that follow the path of dragons.
simon rodier nelson Yet he died in the best way he could have died. Unlike his father, he fought the protagonist at his full power, and was defeated even after becoming even stronger.
If you look at the nameless king blade (after defeating his dragon) you will notice that it's shaking before he killed it. Animation mistake or something deeper?
I think that was meant to show us that the Nameless King, even though he's long since Hollowed out, still felt some semblance of kinship for his trusty steed and didn't want to kill it, but did so to gain the strength to avenge it, to make the Ashen One pay for stepping foot into their sanctuary.
Where the hell is Prepare to Cry Slave Knight Gael? *Spoilers* He sacrificed himself to create the pigment of the Dark Soul for the Painter Girl. Gael's consumption of the Dark Soul was motivated by a necessity for the creation of a pigment. He wanted a better world for everyone. He is the hero we don't deserve. He is literally one of my favorite characters in the entire series...
QUEENDOM the dark soul is in every human being that was created from the darksign when Gwyn sacrificed himself to restore the age of fire. If he got the dark soul blood then that would be the blood that was from the darksign which would allow him the painter girl to create an entirely new world thats peaceful and nice without the darksign or dragons
OGRaven Wolf2 The dark soul wasn't created by Gwyn, the dark souls was the Lord Soul found by the furtive pygmy, every human has fragment of it as every human is a descendant of the pygmy. All Gael did was gather every piece of the Dark Soul by killing every human.

No, I'm talking about Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower in bloodborne. Vaati said he would do a prepare to cry on her but hasn't yet. However i welcome any new video vaati makes
I liked this video really do 150% I just feel there is 2 things that is off or not actually given about this however. 1.I don't think Havel was just a Single knight,I believe that Havel was Infact the first person to have the armor, shield, and weapon to fight off dragons. and within that more and more people joined in causing a bunch of others to become Havel Knights. This would sort of make sense to why we find Havel armor and or Havel Knights in such places. 2.I'm quite surprised you didn't bring up that the Nameless king id the Founder of the Sunlight Warriors which could speculate to being that his inclusion in Dark Souls 3 is what lead to Sunlight Warriors being even CAPABLE of invading other worlds. This would add on as through 1 and 2 we had all assumed it was Solaire and Sunlight Warriors during that time were just a cooping covenant.
I don't think Havel was just a Single knight,I believe that Havel was Infact the first person to have the armor, shield, and weapon to fight off dragons. and within that more and more people joined in causing a bunch of others to become Havel Monsters.
Maybe that's because VaatiVidya deals far less in speculation than you do. And when he does, he makes very sure to say so. This is why his videos are so good. His lore is easy to follow because he doesn't assume massive leaps like this, even if there is some evidence suggesting it. Some evidence is not the same thing as IS. Vaati knows this, you don't. That's why he's sitting on over a million subs.

@@GetOkamiDev There are a small group of people who are into Arthropods(humanized insects). They have not adopted a specific word to describe themselves, most likely because of their size in numbers. there have been usage of the word "Buggy" to describe them, but rather sparingly.
I don't know about you, but I've always believed that the nameless king betrayed his family because he knows that what his father did to the dragon was unjust, that's just my opinion. To me, dragons are not the "real" bad guys and never will be. The way of the dragon is an honorable and brave way. By the way, I love your videos, they are so detailed and accurate, and then you translated my mother tongue :) it's just great.
I know it's almost 3 years after this video was posted buuuuut I think Ornstein found Nameless King, and took his point of view about dragons, that's why he's cooperating with them in Dark Souls 2 (he drops Leo ring, which is "beloved ring of a dragon-slaying knight", and his soul says that he was mentioned in old legends, so he's someone important, not some random dude with similiar armor). Don't know what he was doing there, though. Also, when defeated, if we fallow to the balcony, there is a guy from Sentinels of Blue. His halberd says that there is "to others, the distinction between the two [good and evil] can be quite unclear" and that this knight was shepperd to a lost souls. So what if Ornstein found Nameless King, learned his point of view, and then got confused, cause he didn't knew what's right anymore. He was great dragonslayer with his, let's call it, friend, and now his friend is dragon's ally. I think he searched for answers, and that's how he found Targray. I know it's late conclusion and maybe someone already found this out, but I'd like to share my thoughts. Btw love your whole work with DS lore.
Like Destiny, Dark Souls has a good amount of people telling the lore of the Dark Souls universe. However, unlike Destiny, Dark Souls is an interesting game with a lot of substance.
Another great video! Thank you so much for your awesome work! One slight note, Smough was never a Knight of Gwyn. Unless you mean a knight of Gwyn, like generally speaking. The four Knights of Gwyn were Ornstein, Artorias, Gough and Ciaran. (mentioned @ 07:05)
Theory: Ornstein actually the storm drake. (Explanation) Lighting = storm and in order to turn into a dragon you must take off your armor. And all of it is just a fun guess. Edit: Also the Nameless king stabs the head of the dragon to gain a lightning buff which Smough did as well, but one problem is, is that The storm drake breathes fire instead of lightning.
At least this time, the nameless king seemed to show his respect to Ornstein before killing him for more power. This also helps me accept that smough would so quickly kill the still moving Ornstein in DS1, because that one would’ve just been one of Gwendolin’s many illusions
9:04 there is another connection of one who wanted to destroy all dragons and yet allied with one; Gwen himself and Seth the scaleless. Because if it was not for his help and Gwen would not have had the ability to ultimately defeat the ancient dragons
So, basically, Nameless King was a massive badass that inspired some true fucking loalty. And we killed him. Fuck it, he's optional and i'm skipping his fight in the next run, he deserves to rule the world after the age of fire ends.
Not sure dude, the Nameless king is apparently so powerful the sun always shines when he is around. The age of dark may have almost covered everything in Lothric by the time you kill the Princes but Archdragon peak will still be as it was. Gael with the entirety of the dark souls could beat him I suppose but I am not sure.
As the Lord of Hollows I would accept the nameless king as an ally. We'll set up trade agreements, visit each others kingdoms for gatherings and shows of good faith in our continued alliance, set up arranged marriages between our children who will grow up together as kids and friends first so it's not entirely against their wills. Well will also fight many a war side by side as allies and crush all who oppose us.
The most amazing thing about these games is that I love them all even though I have no idea what's going on. I figured Miyazaki's style was leaving tidbits here and there, to flavor the world and leave us speculating about what could be. So I figure, "the Nameless King is a cool boss fight; I wonder what he's all about" and then watch your videos and realize there is a huge, well-constructed plot beneath it all. I have no idea how you constructed the timelines and all this information, but mad props, these videos are so entertaining. I almost wish I watched them before playing, so I could appreciate the weight of my actions on the story more.
I seriously felt like I was back in preschool sitting in a circle with my friends at story time this piece is well put together the ending took the cake my eyes where are watering as the ending came to a close as the two Warriors Clash..... beautiful💯💯
Ornstien is one of my favourite characters in the entire soulsborne series, along with gherman and the nameless king. Ornstien seems like such a noble and admirable character.
Gwyn's 4 Knights are the only people I'll ever feel guilty about hurting *Also Sif. And Gael. But well, you kill Gael to make a new painting that'll be better to live in than the real world, sooooo it's a good thing.*
I know I'm super late, but I feel like it's more likely that Yorshka shares the same mother with one or more of Gwyn's children rather than being a daughter of Gwyn.
Yorshka is gwyn adopted daughter, she was a product of gwyn's experiment toward dragon and dragon birth. But, gwyndolin is very nice with her (based on yorshka story), and somehow manage to make yorshka got a place in royal family
My father abandoned me as a child. He had 3 children, two daughters and a son. They know nothing about me. I have never seen myself in a character like i see myself in the Nameless King. The first born son, erased from a family history.
Dark Souls is over most likely over after the ending with the fire keeper were you let the fire fade. I think thats the end of it and they will move on to a new IP or a sequel to BB

I never realized how the nameless King stabs his storm Drake and absorbs its power in the form of overcharged lightning. This is clearly the same technique seen at the Midway point of the Ornstein and Smough fight. I wonder where it came from. It seems likely that it was the Nameless King who developed it, teaching it to his knights, and eventually the technique was taught to Smough by Ornstein during their long vigil. Beautiful bit of story right there.

Good job dude that really make sense now👍🏻

So it's a darker version of How to Train Your Dragon. Those bred to kill the dragons eventually find out that the dragons aren't so bad after all, and befriend them. Gwyn is basically Stoick the Vast and Nameless King is Hiccup.
Except Stoick ends up forgiving the dragons, he also didn't exile his son...
That's a really weird theory, but whatever.

@@katrinavining8672 We don't really know if the dragons ruled anyone, let alone in a brutal manner.
My theory on Nameless King's name:
"Maelgwyn"
Maelgwyn is Welsh (like Gwyn's and most of his children's names) and apparently means something like Battle and Prince.
Can you think of a more suitable and likely name?
It's in line with the tendency of most of Gwyn's children to carry "Gwyn" in their own names. Not to mention, it sounds like Mal-Gwyn, like a malform of his father's ideals.
Heard a lot of people argue for Gwynsen - as in the creator of sen's fortress
OOooooh now that's interesting!
Maelgwyn?
Male-Gwyn, Plottwist.
By the way, I love your videos, they are so detailed and accurate, and then you translated my mother tongue :) it's just great.
I know it's almost 3 years after this video was posted buuuuut
I think Ornstein found Nameless King, and took his point of view about dragons, that's why he's cooperating with them in Dark Souls 2 (he drops Leo ring, which is "beloved ring of a dragon-slaying knight", and his soul says that he was mentioned in old legends, so he's someone important, not some random dude with similiar armor).
Probably one of my favorite videos that you've created, blends the stories of all the games together with wonderful presentation
Like Destiny, Dark Souls has a good amount of people telling the lore of the Dark Souls universe. However, unlike Destiny, Dark Souls is an interesting game with a lot of substance.
Sad but true
SageK Yes, so much yes...
SageK Unlike destiny the dark souls serie is a legend, that never dies, DS2 too.
SageK the shade 😎
Especially after they cut core twist from Destiny. Traveler was evil!
Backstories like this give boss fights a whole new meaning on top of their sheer difficulty.
The finishing of this story is just fu**ing amazing, you're absolutly the best lore investigator of all youtube, you deserve my like
Another great video!
Edit: Also the Nameless king stabs the head of the dragon to gain a lightning buff which Smough did as well, but one problem is, is that The storm drake breathes fire instead of lightning.
imagine getting killed by your duo companion twice
Pickle Skipper oh yeah lol
There's also some moments in the ost when you fight the storm king that vaguely sounds like the ost during ornsteins and smough's fight
At least this time, the nameless king seemed to show his respect to Ornstein before killing him for more power. This also helps me accept that smough would so quickly kill the still moving Ornstein in DS1, because that one would’ve just been one of Gwendolin’s many illusions
Another excelent video.
Oh you've watched the whole thing?
i call bs
Preach Sir!!!!
9:04 there is another connection of one who wanted to destroy all dragons and yet allied with one; Gwen himself and Seth the scaleless. Because if it was not for his help and Gwen would not have had the ability to ultimately defeat the ancient dragons
These interpretations really add so much extra to it. The way it's written and told adds the emotions to the game where I smash things with big sword.
I love how they put little details in their games.
9:46 “It was only a matter of time until Gwyn’s Age of Fire would burn down to ash.
And dragons have both time, and patience, in abundance.”
So, basically, Nameless King was a massive badass that inspired some true fucking loalty.
And we killed him.
Fuck it, he's optional and i'm skipping his fight in the next run, he deserves to rule the world after the age of fire ends.
Sulfur don't worry, if you don't kill him Gael will have a nameless king feast
I seriously felt like I was back in preschool sitting in a circle with my friends at story time this piece is well put together the ending took the cake my eyes where are watering as the ending came to a close as the two Warriors Clash..... beautiful💯💯
Haven't clicked on a video so fast in a while
Andorra same
Dizomic Dude hasn't even spelled Vaati's name properly lol
same i think i broke my mouse lol
But Gywnevere isn't in the thumbnail
I don't even remember what I was turning my computer on to do. Probably nothing nearly as important as watching this video
Ahhh I’ve missed these videos
"Hello, my name is (N/A), you killed my father, prepare to cry." -The Nameless King
Ornstien is one of my favourite characters in the entire soulsborne series, along with gherman and the nameless king. Ornstien seems like such a noble and admirable character.
Gwyn's 4 Knights are the only people I'll ever feel guilty about hurting
*Also Sif. And Gael. But well, you kill Gael to make a new painting that'll be better to live in than the real world, sooooo it's a good thing.*
ツAdorable Centurion What about the Ivory King?
What about Yorshka?
She says Gwyndolin and Gwynevere are her siblings
I know I'm super late, but I feel like it's more likely that Yorshka shares the same mother with one or more of Gwyn's children rather than being a daughter of Gwyn.
Yorshka is gwyn adopted daughter, she was a product of gwyn's experiment toward dragon and dragon birth. But, gwyndolin is very nice with her (based on yorshka story), and somehow manage to make yorshka got a place in royal family
No nut november was going great...
...until I saw Gwynevere's great chest.
another man has fallen to Gwynevere
Loaf "The Hardscoper" Bloke dude same but it's not November anymore 😂
Lol!
Nailed it
Naaa I don't like gywnavere I like a other dark souls character that I'm hoping she's in the remastered
Well she is an illusion so... thooses humongus things are a lie (or a wet dream of her brother... who knows?)
My father abandoned me as a child. He had 3 children, two daughters and a son. They know nothing about me. I have never seen myself in a character like i see myself in the Nameless King. The first born son, erased from a family history.
Yeah but, how does Edwad feature into all of this?
Edwad is the Furtive Pygmy.
0_0 (having some ancient war against the dragon's flashback)
Use cars
IS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING JOJO'S REFERENCE?
UnsungHeroRising no
I wish VaatiVidya was my history teacher
Wouldn't be able to concentrate on the info, I'd be too relaxed/aroused.
Your voice is like Morgan Freeman's voice I can sleep on a bed of his voice but your voice with lore is just how should I say this a loregasm
I wasn't even emotional about this , but by the end of it i felt the need to cry. Truly an amazing video
You forgot to mention when Nameless lost Gwyn's Van Halen album, the most important part of the lore.
I think it wasn't Van Halen but Megadeth's Peace Sells
Damn i cant wait for the next souls game hope we get some more info about the nameless king
Lauxe you're gonna be waiting a very long time
Allah Nigga thought they were done with Souls.
Hate to break it to ya
Dark Souls is over most likely over after the ending with the fire keeper were you let the fire fade. I think thats the end of it and they will move on to a new IP or a sequel to BB
There might be another Bloodborne at E3. Hopefully
Lady Maria When?
at first I checked you out because of mossbag and now I'm loving your dark souls videos
*Read the Lore before I went into video*
*Sees the Nameless King*
FILTHY DRAGON LOVER!!!!!!!
...why? Souls' dragons don't seem so bad as long as they're not poisoned/corrupted/experimented on/transformed in any way.
That's why I am about to join the joyfull covenant of the dragon !
How dare you speak ill of the Warriors of Sunlight's icon? >:C
Last time I was this early Gwyn's firstborn was in the history books
oof
I never realized how the nameless King stabs his storm Drake and absorbs its power in the form of overcharged lightning. This is clearly the same technique seen at the Midway point of the Ornstein and Smough fight.
I wonder where it came from. It seems likely that it was the Nameless King who developed it, teaching it to his knights, and eventually the technique was taught to Smough by Ornstein during their long vigil.
Beautiful bit of story right there.
Just the way you format your videos makes everything better, and your voice is perfect for what you do.
4:10 You sure that those dragon's caught the undead curse, and not simple instead somehow managed to survive the ravages of Nito's miasma?
Dragon's that got the undead curse, like the rotten dragon in the first game along the cliffside.
