Geo Tracker Lift Kit Comparison

  • In this video I compare an expensive suspension lift to a cheap puck lift. In a previous video I installed a 2" puck lift on my Geo Tracker, and then recently I found an expensive aftermarket lift kit installed on a tracker in the junkyard. I decided to compare the two and see which one is better.

I have not seen this type of comparison between the two lift methods before. Thanks for doing this and sharing in a video.

Ah, yes. The handy dandy hot dog stick. I knew those things had to have some other use! 🧐😆

Great junk yard score. It's the price of the kit that keeps me away from those fancy A arms and drop brackets. Maybe I will do one on one on my X-90s but definitely not from the blue paint company.

After thinking about it, a 2” diff drop kit and a puck lift would be the way to go.

@@haroldshobbies do these A arms push the tire forward? That's the way to go.

No. If you push the tire forward without modifying the upper strut mount you change the caster. Suspension geometry is fun 🤓

Very interesting, I was sure the blue company used to advertise moving the wheel forward with their a-arms.@@haroldshobbies

Great info. I ordered two Puck Lifts, gonna double them up for a 4” or so lift plus a two inch body lift. Im gonna cut my A-arms and lengthen them about an inch. Gonna make my own Front Diff lowering brackets also.
Never did this Fabbing before, I’m hoping it works. Rear shocks are going to be from Ford F -150 and front Struts are from 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Your Channel is very good and through.

Ummm, well that’s an idea. I wouldn’t recommend stacking two lift kits, but it’s a unique idea. Typically people do a 2 inch puck lift and a two inch body lift for 4” of lift, but it’s worth a shot.

There is a company that sells lighter springs for the Tracker. Makes the ride a bit better. Would be curious to see how they are we have been considering getting them.

Off road I air down to 10 psi and it’s like riding on a cloud. On road I run 20 psi and it’s not too bad. New shocks and struts made a big difference.

Yea I don’t get that they don’t supply a strut spacer in that kit. They do for the 3” kit.

Did you get that lift off the silver 4 door from jalopy on Garrity?

Nice. I was eye balling that when I was pulling stuff off it for mine. Good find. I drive the light blue and black 2 door around that area.
