  • Comparing a $200 lift to a $839 lift sounds like a no brainer. But is it?
    We lifted our Tracker with a 2.5" $200 puck style lift with rear shocks (link to install below) about a month ago. so we just took it out and ran it through some tests, up some trails and through the woops. It actually performed very good.
    • E4- Geo Tracker $200 2...
    Now it's time to upgrade... We chose a complete lift from Low Range Off Road that came with Old Man Emu springs 1" Pucks, Low Range Offroad struts, ProComp rear shocks, Camber Bolts, and Trail gear rear upper control arm bracket. We chose to run our lift for now without the 1" pucks and will only install them if it turns our our tracker needs a bit more lift. However being a 2 door, the approach angles and roll over angles are already in it's favor with the 32" tires. (tire clearance mods are also in the video link above)

    Thanks for the comparison. I have a 2.5" BDS lift with new springs all around. I added the rear upper control arm spacer from Low-Range and KYB rear shocks, as the BDS shocks were far too stiff. I would recommend this as a good value lift for the Trackers.

      I looked at that one. I was also curious about it but didn’t see anything to lengthen the front strut. Did yours come with a spacer?

    • @thisisnotatest2
      @thisisnotatest2 3 роки тому +1

      @@DeathTollRacing Yes, it included 2.5 inch spacers for the front struts that increase the shaft length. Put them on with loctite and have had zero issues in 2 years. I ended up using fox-body mustang shocks in the rear, as they had the right length for the lightest vehicle I could find.

    I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet but the better way to get your suspension measurements is to the center of the hub. Then you don't have to worry about what ground you are parked in or tske into account the tires. Especially if someone else wants to compare it to their build. Just food for thought.

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  2 роки тому

      Thanks. You must always be on flat ground for suspension measurements. Regardless of where I measured it from, floor or centerline to a random piece of tape on the fender, the math ends up the same. There are times where you must do as you said and measure from axle center however, but you would still need to be on flat ground unless you are measuring a fixed axle with no suspension.

    Why would the coil spacers wear any other component faster? The angles of all the steering geometry are the very same. It's also preferable to release the front table mounts at the bushings and the rear arms to prevent binding.....

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  Рік тому

      It’s no “so much” the spacer, it’s that usually a lift is in combination with larger tires, and the rod on the strut is fairly small which flexes significantly (aka “tracker wheel wobble”). The lifted struts have a bigger rod. (The rod in a strut system controls the camber).

    I lifted my Geo tracker almost 3 inches without a kit. The back tires don't want to go down enough to stay in contact with the ground on two of my trails. I think I need the spacer that goes on top of the rear end for the stabilizer bar in the center.
    Can someone tell me where I can get the spacer and longer bolts ?

    I'm considering getting a tracker I already have a samurai. At the moment I was day dreaming about maybe doing a solid axle swap for the front of a tracker that i may get. but if I go check out how much flex my samurai has vs that tracker on the front. then maybe I will forget about a swap. My samurai is on leafs and the front is sort of stiff. Either way thanks for showing how much flex it has. like actually measuring it and showing it.

    If calmini wasn't such a pain and getting sued by thousands of people I'd suggest their kit. Used to cost about 850 on sale and it had control arms, longer trailing arms, upgraded y link or 3rd link on the rear diff , diff drop and cv spacers.. plus longer springs and struts/shocks.
    4xfourart is the cheapest kit with tubular arms now about 1200. The extreme kit moves the front wheels forward about 1.5in to gain clearance needed for 34s. No cutting the front fenders behind the tire
