My Grandpa had a Geo Tracker that he bought for his river house on the Mississippi. He installed a trailer hitch to the front end so that we could easily put boats in the river. It was what all us grandkids learned to drive standard on. Great times. RIP Grandpa!

This made me smile. As someone who graduated high school in 95', I remember people getting their first cars in the 90's. These and other Geo's were very popular back then. A cute girl in my high school had a purple Geo convertible. So glad he was able to relive his youth. Thanks.

I had a Tracker and it gave me one of my best car stories. Mine was rough, just seats and a dashboard inside, no carpet no door panels. Obviously you couldn't really lock it because of the top, but the ignition was also broken and i just had a screwdriver to start it. One morning I came out of my apartment building and it was gone. I went in and asked my wife (now ex) if she borrowed it to someone. Nope. Just gone. I had recently had my Impreza stolen from the transmission shop, so I figured I wasn't going to see it again. About 12 hours later I walked out to the parking lot, and it was in my parking spot. Went and looked in it, they had completely cleaned it out, and all my stuff was in the back seat. Turned the screwdriver, the gas tank was completely full. Never did find out who took it.

I remember that tracker! I'm in Terre Haute and I had a friend that had a dark blue tracker that was lowered with wheels similar to those. We rocked that thing all over Indiana and had a blast in it. I've had a couple of them but I was into offroading so I never went the lowered route. Those 8 valve's are indestructible

Flash forward 7 years later, I was able to grab an 85 325e with late model front bumper, sport seats, sport wheel, and of course the 13 button OBC. Car came with no wheels, shot water pump, blown out shifter bushings, a whole heap of engine maintenance and a half-working cluster. Took a few thousand $$ and a lot of hours, but She's running decent on the street with over 330K on the clock. Happy to have been able to grab the one that got away once again.

This brings back a lot of memories from high school. I graduated in 98, but I had a canary yellow 91 S-10 Blazer with ground effects and 15x10 chrome and gold spokes. I had 2 15's in the back, even used to compete in regional car stereo events where my all time high decibel level was a 148.0 db. Our dad had a salvage yard so we could replace springs if we ruined one trying to "learn" how to lower the front. I have an 89 Blazer put away, hoping to build it up one day.

I was on it. I had the 1991 White Geo tracker with the black soft top barely alive Automatic 4x4 8 valve bought it for $700 with an automatic start button.i slowly start fixing it up . I started with the suspension everything new even lowered it ,than the engine everything new gasket, timing chain, K&N air filter and even added the snorkeI found the moonroof & hardtop and Deep dish rims with oversize tires. Bought new wheel tire covered finally gave it a new bone white paint job. Found roof rack and upgraded the Headers,Downpipe, flow master catalytic converter with 3 Bullet muffler.
I change the badge from Geo tracker to Suzuki
Put new decal almost all over it. This things use to turn on rails and rumble at stop lights. It felt like a real Rally car! My biggest disappointment was I had the weaker engine and most dreadful thing was is was AUTOMACTIC! I was trying so hard to convert to Manual. Instead since these cars were still around and nobody really hook them up I decided to find Another one but Stick shift! Guess what! I found it finally after 5 years later.
    A 1998 Purple Chevrolet 2dr 4X4 5-speed/OD 16 valve 128,000
With a soft black top but NEW? You know damn well what I did switch everything over to the stick shift! It now has 134,000 put away only use for special occasion.
The 1991 Geo tracker automatic I use it up and finally junk it when I blew engine.

Mine was a 1982 Datsun 280zx. I was in the process of doing a turbo engine swap on it but I couldn't get it running correctly and my landlord gave me an ultimatum. Either get rid of the car or pay a fine . So I sold the car. I got my asking price for it as I mostly sold it for the price of the engine. This was back in 2015. Now I've had a few other car since then and they never tickled me the same. Eventually I found a gold 1981 280zx and I quickly scooped that up. It definitely has a better body but it has the wrong cylinder head on it so its much slower than it's supposed to be but I'll get that fixed. Point is, I'm back in one of my dream cars. Only other car I kinda regret selling was a 1985 Chevy caprice wagon. I do miss how it drove and how that edlbrock sounded when you floored it but it's not one I'm broken hearted over

I just seen a busted up green geo metro that had a grip of rust, an aftermarket sun roof, a doughnut for a rear wheel, leaning hard with body twist, every panel bashed, grimy windows, torn and nasty interior, blowing smoke from the exhaust, a couple of crack heads inside... no joke! I was for real amazed and was melancholic with thoughts of an actual 3 cylinder Geo in traffic, in 2023, on the road. I kind of want one to slap a Hayabusa swap into it.

I had two that got away. The first was a 1960 Chevrolet Nomad wagon. Yes, the famous collectable is 1955 through 1957, but they still made the Nomad in 1960. I had a crazy hippy girlfriend in the mid-1970s and it was good times. The second was a 1979 limited edition Smokey and the Bandit Pontiac Trans Am, one of 500 made that year, matching numbers, black with the gold screamin' eagle on the hood, and T-tops.

I had a ‘93 2WD 5 speed. Loved that thing! I also had the Hammer wheels, cut 1 turn out of all 4 coil springs, lol. Rode like💩 but looked cool as hell!!! I had a wall of speakers behind me also! 4 MTX Pro series 15” Rockford fosgate amps and even replaced the front 3 1/3” speakers. I had red neons underneath and also the matching license plate frame! I had red crushed velvet door panels!!! Got a warning for wheels sticking out past fenders so I went to Lowe’s and got some black lawn edging to make my own fender-flares!

My mother had a yellow Geo Tracker with zebra print on the lower side of the door panel, and queen bee on the rear bumper and front windshield. It wasn't a 4x4 either, it looked exactly like that one but with a little extra vinyl flavour on it. As far as I know that car went all the way from canada to mexico. Don't know what happened to it after that.
Funny thing is, she too would blast NWA and of course, Little Kim (The queen bee). Her name is Kim.

I had a 1993 Geo Tracker. Mechanically, one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Lights and oil was all I needed to replace with over 50k miles that I put on it, 15k original. So, 65k of miles and no issues.
Also, airbags? There were hardly any vehicles in the early 90's with airbags.

It out ran a few from lights but very few stayed close when turns happened. Sadly it lived a short 6 months with me before I launched it over a hill at 120+mph. In 2012 I found a 1988 Dodge D100(pickup) 318, 3 speed auto with 90k miles on it. It was owned by an old man. The truck was perfect, cosmetically and mechanically other than the Fire Engine red paint being a little faded. It had ZERO rust and all the metal everywhere including the undercarriage was like it just came from the factory, and the interior was perfect. I paid $1,200 for the truck and drove it home from GA to NC. A few months later, I needed rent money and sold it. I actually planned on painting it orange and theming it like General Lee. If only I had it painted like that and left it in my garage. $20k all day long. More than that if the motor was swapped. Imagine a Hellcat square body Dodge pickup.
