Sumo if taken seriously, is tough, hard training and hard on the joints. I acquired more injuries doing 3-years of sumo than over a decade of judo. However, adding the abilities to bulldoze and ragdoll folks along with the skill of holding ground are amazing for crowd/fight control. I have handled more occasions using basic sumo skills than my other fighting skills. I will be the first to admit I was surprised at how practical and useful the training was for applications outside the sport.

Looks fun. Personally I think I'd like a rule-set where it's a do-over if both participants step outside of the ring. Sports fencing has this same issue where you have to look at slow-motion footage to tell who won, when in a real situation they'd both be dead.
When you go prone inside the ring, does it count as a defeat if you roll and get up instead of landing on your ass/belly, I wonder?
