I wonder why people even call RLM "star wars fans" in the first place. They have always been dismissive about Star Wars because they believe Star Trek is superior in any capacity. People are comparing their criticisms they made over 10 years ago. When 1. At the time, prequels WERE the worst thing out then. 2. Making fun of the prequels was fashionable to way beyond critics and reviewers. And no backlash for disliking something like there is today.

(Spoilers for the ending of Jedi: fallen order)
I remember a few years ago, game theory used the ending scene of fallen order to calculate how strong Vader’s force was. The result was ridiculous, equating to more than the titanic, the London bell tower, a dozen elephants, and several jumbo jets. With my (admittedly imperfect) knowledge of physics, what kenobi does in episode 4 blows that out of the water.

I loved RLM's Star Wars prequel series, it's what started me on the path to eventually discover and become a fan of Mauler, Drinker, Nerdrotic, Shad, and many others. But this is far from their first bad take. I remember looking forward to them tearing apart Jar Jar's Star Trek 2009, 'cause in my opinion, the casting and SFX were great, but the story and writing were shite. Nope. They liked it. Ah well, can't agree with people on everything, but liking ST 2009 and Disney Star Wars is tough for me to get past.

Their 09 review foreshadows why the TFA would be bad beyond recommending JJ. Based on that movie, it was going to be a soul-less, pointless revival that completely misses the point of the original IP. So, of course JJ does the same thing with TFA because that's what he does. RLM should have seen it coming, but didn't.
