I've just been checking out the fun colour choices, so many options! Id definitely make a black one for my 26 yo son, one for his GF and one for each of my BF two young adult kids. I have some chunky yarn in 3 colours but only 100g, may do a combo colour one to practice with for my own. Ribbing in one colour, stockinette in the other! Also, I know how to cast on long tail in knit only, pearl is a new addition.... looks trick but will give it a go! Cheers for the tutorial. Love the music you choose btw, so calming, makes me want to sit in a sun filled window sipping cocoa while I knit :)
I'm not really a pink person so i choose the white one. However, I was looking at the Wool & the Gang colors and just ordered the color "love heart pink" which is a pale pink with speckles - looks so cute ❤ Kris K from Connecticut
I just knitted two of these, one orange and one hot pink for my grandson and granddaughter for Xmas. Trying to get make my mojo for knitting, thanks so much I enjoyed doing these to build confidence.
Thanks, nice easy pattern. I didn't switch to a thinner yarn when I gathered the top. I threaded the tapestry needle with the working yarn first then placed the stitches on the tapestry needle purl wise. The stitches go directly onto the yarn that way, and the needles have the stitches removed off of them as you go, no need to thread a thinner yarn on with the needles in place then take the needles out.
I just made my second beanie. It turned out really cute. Iove this pattern. Med to LG hat, 52 stitches is 26" in diameter on the rim. I knitted 7" on the stockinette stitch since the first one I did was way too small. I took your advice on the second one and knitted it loosely and it turned out much better. My first one was way too tight. Thank you Kiki. Ii e this hat!
I absolutely LOVE both the cream cardigan you are wearing with your cream colored beanie. And Love Love Love the cream colored sweater you're wearing with your pink beanie.

Amazing tutorial thank you so much!! I just knit my first hat ever and I want to make another one to match for a baby. Any recommendations for sizing? I was thinking like maybe 22 cast on?
I literally only discovered circular knitting needles on your channel. I was always confused as to how you would know something in a rubber shape, this video was very helpful, I really want to try it. Also, I absolutely love your cats, they're so fluffy, and I love it when cats have attitude, I find it really funny. ❤️❤️
Kika, Just finished this beanie and it's my first knitting project EVER, thank you so much you inspire me and I'm looking forward to knitting more of your creations
Yay!! Another tutorial that I think I can manage! I’m so happy you are sharing these. I’ve made at least 8 scrunchies and can’t wait to try this hat!! Thank you! I think I like the pink best but they are both so cute! - Alexandra
@@Kutovakika I’ve just bought a new color for scrunchies along with materials to make this hat! 😂💗 The scrunchies have made lovely additions to gifts for friends!! 💗 So grateful for this video series!
I love to watch you, you are so much fun. I want to ask you if you can show how to crochet a button like you do on your jumpers. kind regards Australia.
I just love every single knitting video you make! So well explained and performed!!! In knitting UA-cam I think you are one of the best in showing, explaining and giving inspiration! I would love to see some tutorial for socks, mittens, bandana or maybe a video with small tricks, also curious what needles you are using and what is your experience with different needles. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much for this amazing tutorial, Kika! I already made two marshmellow beanies and I love them - my boyfriend does, as well! Will now knit a few as last minute christmas presents 😊
I love your videos - they are so upbeat and fun! I am a crocheter but this video inspired me to try out this pattern. This hat and the yarn look so cozy! I just had to order that yarn and needles and give it a go. Thank you and take care. Kris K from Connecticut USA 🧶🌻🙂
You inspired me to create (I've never seen it done before) a new knit/purl cast on. I'm a fan of 'knitted on' cast on so after failing miserably at your long tail k/p cast on, I tried a "knit/purl knitted-on cast" on. It worked beautifully.
Thanks so much for doing these beginner knitting tutorials and writing up the patterns! I really appreciate it :) im a crocheter trying to learn knitting and i just love your videos so much and i already told my boyfriend that i want your knitting book for Christmas! Also i want to make one of these hats for myself and my boyfriend. The pink one is my favorite! It’s my favorite color :) 💗
Hi Victoria! Ah this is a good question 😀👍🏼 So, for a 5mm needle what you want to do it to knit a test piece of for example 20stitches to see how many stutches you knit on 10cm, so basically what your gauge will be. Then, when you know how many stitches you knit on 10cm you can calculate how many you need for this hat that has a circumference intended for a head of approx 55 cm 😀 hope this makes sense!
Ciao Kika, you have this natural gift for explaining things to people in a very relaxing way! You even got me hooked on knitting now...what is happening:)
Kika, love your videos! I have just finished my first hat (it was wildly small unfortunately, it was all in 1x1 ribbing as well). Was curious if there is anything to take into account when going from 1x1 ribbing to stockinette in a hat like this? Do you need to add extra stitches compared to normal since you’re using two different types of stitches? Or switching betweeen stitch types doesn’t effect cast on?
I have been knitting for so many years....and how i didn't know there were a purl stitch too in the cast on method i have no idea. I don't think it's mentioned in any of my books, neither did my mom teach me....and i don't imagine that's that much difference in Danish and Swedish way of knitting...but i must try it.
I'm new to your channel and I love you sweaters I'm going to download the pattern for the chunky beanie and I love the pink one but the white one is cute too
Hello, this is a great hat! I like it so much that I will try to knit for the first time to make it. But can you please show tutorial for a hat with a hole for ponytail? This is something that I want to make/buy for a very long time. Thanks 😊
@@Kutovakika no, not a headband actually :) A complete hat but on the top where you tightly tie to close the hole at the end, to leave it open somehow and when you put it on, to pull the ponytail through the whole. This way you can wear a warm hat on the whole head (not just a headband) with high ponytail :)
Love this video but I really dont know what I am missing because 24 in circular needles are simply way to long for 38 stitches. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
When working flat, for stockinette stitch, you knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side. When working in the round, you can just keep knitting, because you stay on the right side all the time.
Which beanie color do you prefer, pink or white? Also, who's someone you could make this beanie for? 💕😊
I like the white one because it goes with everything . If I do get to making one, it would probably be for myself, coz why not?

How many stitches did you cast on for the beanie. Can't understand

Hi.Did you realize that it is easier anf faster if you always use de yarn from down to top ( for all the points).
When it is time to knit the stockinette stitch it’s just knit stitches for 20 rows? I thought stockinette was knit one, purl one?
