I am watching this while I'm knitting hats. It's such a simple pattern and is a perfect stash-busting project! And seeing as I just got an entire bag of yarn...I am going to need it.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm a crocheter, and have always wanted to dive into the world of knitting, I was able to successfully make a hat first try thanks to you :)
This is such a brilliant video! Following this, I have knitted my first ever hat :) THANK YOU so much as this tutorial was so easy to follow and was a very quick process!!
This is amazing!! Thank you so much I've been looking for a simple understandable tutorial from someone!! This is great and I love my hat. I added a big pom pom bobble at the top that I made with old spare yarn. Thank you so much!
Thanks for this awesome video! I’ve just learnt how to do a continental knit stitch and I have trouble distinguishing what stitches you are using here? Would you mind sharing? Thank you!!
Hey, I would love to try and knit this pattern, seems lovely! But I just cant`t understand row 2 and row 4 of the decrease part, what exactly is the pattern there? Im so sorry! Thanks in advace if you help me with this!
Hey, so when you work Round 2 and Round 4, the decrease will be where the 2 knit stitches are next to each other. So in Round 2 it's work 4 stitches, knit 2 together. In Round 4 it's work 3 stitches, knit 2 together. I was making up the decreases as I went which is why it might seem a bit confusing haha, but thanks for asking I hope this helps!
Hello love! Thanks for this wonderful tutorial ! If I knit with the wool from wak and 15mm needles, so you think the pattern would work if I cast 5 stitches less?
Hello! I absolutely love this pattern - I'm a beginner and this was so easy to follow along, so thank you! If I wanted to make a slightly bigger beanie for a larger head, how many stitches would you cast on, and how would you recommend decreasing the stitches? Thank you!
Hey! I would recommend keeping it an even number and 2 sts in chunky yarn is usually about 1 inch so you can calculate how much extra you want from there!
Sorry but its not clear seeing you knitting when to decrease. The only Rows which are clear :the first the third and the sixth.I've watched the video in show motion but it is not clear. Please can you explain IT .Does it matter if you have more stiches.its the fame technique to use ? Thank you from Argentina
Hey I updated the link in the description, but yes it's 12mm circular needles. I don't remember if it's the 16 inch or 24 inch circulars but both will work fine
Hey there! Looove your Insta page and your tutorials!!! I have 15mm needles and 15mm wool yarn, how many stitches you think I should cast on? Sorry but I started not long ago and I really don’t know how to figure this out! Thank you ❤️
Hey! I'd usually follow the gauge recommended on the yarn. If you're using the same yarn as in the video, in my experience about 34-36 stitches would work depending on the size you want. Because the yarn is so chunky and quick to work also if I find it isn't fitting I will just rip out and start again. This is just a guess though!
How long is the cord between the needles? I suppose it makes a difference? (I have one that's super long and I assume it won't be any good...) Thanks in advance!
Mine are usually about 40 cm I think, you can use a longer cord and work in the round using magic loop. I personally don't love that method so I use smaller cords
Hi ! I am trying SJP beanie by WAK. 1,1 rib as well ... they say to do 31 stitches and you do 40 (even)... why not 41 (odd) ?? I dont’ get it I am a beginner ...
Hey the odd number is for when you join it in the round it, you bind off 1 stitch and it makes it a little cleaner along the edge. You can do that if you want or CO the even amount and seam the edge neatly. No right or wrong way I chose not to for this video to keep it simple.
No! You can knit hats on straight needles as well. Just type in chunky hat straight needles . I have knit off of a tutorial on here before and the hat turned out great on straights. Also worked up really fast !
Love the hat but when making a tutorial it’s always best do actually say what you’re doing rather than repeating do “that” because unless the viewers an experienced knitter they won’t have a clue what you mean

Love this hat where can i get the written pattern please.🙋🏻♀️❤️
Love the color and how it turned out! I've always wanted to take up knitting as a hobby
Do it! It's so satisfying
Hello! Could I do this with 10mm needles? What change would I have to do make to not have the hat become too small?
Sorry I am a complete beginner!
1:29 Wow you using 100% wool ❤🎉
I liked that you didn't have to switch to DPNs. Pretty beanie!
same anything to avoid dpns! 😆
I got really confused with the visual decrease. Is the written pattern available for free? Thank you.
Thanks for this awesome video! I’ve just learnt how to do a continental knit stitch and I have trouble distinguishing what stitches you are using here? Would you mind sharing? Thank you!!
Hey! Yay that's so exciting! It's a knit and purl stitch which is great for beginners!

Hey! you can cast on less stitches but keep it an even number
thank you so much i’ve been looking for a tutorial!
If I were to make this for a child should I just halve everything?
Hi, is the pattern written somewhere? Thanks 😊

should the first decrease round basically be every seventh stitch, except at the beginning?

Can I ask what’s the size of the needle you use? The link in the description isn’t available in the UK so I’m not sure. It looks like a 12mm perhaps?

I increased the stitches to 46 and now idk how to distribute the decreases😢
Is there a written pattern somewhere? What thickness of yarn?

Thank you for this🤍
Thank you SO much for this tutorial! This is amazing!
I was wondering how long knitting needles loop was? I was using mine and it’s way too long!
Hey! Sorry for the delay! I use a 40cm cable needle for hats usually!
Thank you so much!!! This was great!
I'm glad you liked it :)
What pattern do I buy for this on your website?

Hey! This used one ball of super chunky yarn which is about 80m/87yds. :)
Hey! I just got into knitting so excuse me if it’s a dumb question, but does it have to be with circular needles only?
No! You can knit hats on straight needles as well. Just type in chunky hat straight needles . I have knit off of a tutorial on here before and the hat turned out great on straights. Also worked up really fast !
