Man... I searched and searched to find the exact repair video to fix my BlackMax EXI 725 for days... and finally found yours...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS VIDEO BROTHER 👍🏾
I think this has been the best and most comprehensive video I've seen so far concerning how to work on small engine carburetors. Thank you so much for making this video. It's helped me a lot!
Hand's down, ONE OF, IF NOT THE BEST technical 'how to' videos I have ever seen! And I've seen A LOT. Everything is well described, well explained, reasons for everything given, well videoed and edited. This guy is not only knows his stuff, but is articulate as well! Thanks for doing such a fantastic job!
Thanks for the kind words Gary!
@@EliminatorPerformance I couldn't agree more about this detailed instruction video being thorough & complete. Great job and thank you! However, once I finished cleaning the parts well & dried I had an issue while re-assembling the carburetor, specifically the small bowl drain plug & that small O - Ring that seats inside the bowl drain plug. I found out the hard way how it can get pinched & rip when turning the plug with the hex tool. I used 3in1 Oil on the O - Ring, but it was a little stretched/worn & didn't want to sink into the groove when attempting the 1/4 turn required for it to seal properly & the little tabs on the plug that grip the tabs of the inside end of the hole cracked, rendering the plug itself useless as well as it's o-ring. The rest of the carburator went back together like new with no problem sealing the bowl, the jets cartridge, floater, needle, etc...
The only issue is the plug & o-ring. I see replacement #'s for the entire Carburetor or Jet cartridge that you've left here in the description but can I just get the bowl plug & small o-ring replaced, as opposed to replacing the entire Carburetor & do you have the parts #'s for only that so that I can order them, please? I would appreciate it greatly!!! Again your videos are easily the best on UA-cam, hands down. Please reply
Great video! No annoying background music, no personal stories... just step by step info. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
@@EliminatorPerformance agree nice job explaining this process
I have the exact same Yard Works lawnmower with the Briggs and Stratton engine that is featured in your video. The mower would start and then die. I googled for info on that model with a plastic carburetor and viewed your video. You saved me a repair bill and the possibility of having to purchase a new mower. Thank you.
I just did this same job this morning.
Hey Tough Guy - You are a Champion of the People. You Saved me $75 bucks and gave me the Satisfaction of Accomplishment. It Worked - My Mower Started on the first pull..... Twice. Wanted to make sure it wasn't a Fluke.
Thank You.
Very good video regarding B&S plastic carburetor. I haven't seen the step-by-step teardown and repair done so clearly anywhere else.
This may be the best 'how-to' repair video I've seen. Solid, friendly advice with a good pace, excellent close-ups, and simple steps. It includes re-assembly details and gotchas that others often gloss over. I followed step-by-step, pausing the video as I went. The only issue in my repair was due to my ignorance. I sent the lawnmower blade out for sharpening and tried to start the mower without it. OUCH! The kickback from the pull cord almost yanked my hand off my arm at the wrist! Apparently, this motor uses the blade as flywheel weight and kicks back with a vengeance without it. Thanks again for the quality video!
I have a DR trimmer with a Briggs & Stratton 6.75 engine. Couldn’t get it to start. It would fire with starting fluid and then stop so I guessed I had a fuel problem. At 82 I wasn’t sure I was up to tackling a carburetor clean out never having ventured inside an engine before but watching your excellent video convinced me to give it a try. I watched a dozen videos and must tell you yours is absolutely the clearest step by step complete explanation with excellent video! You even showed how to remove the engine cover which none of the other videos thought to include. I was about ready to break it off after removing the 2 bolts. I knew you were a premier UA-cam instructor when you took the time to list the part number for the o-ring around the top of the fuel jets assembly which might become damaged during take apart. The gold at the end of the rainbow was when my B & S started and ran perfectly on the first pull. I appreciate the time you take to make such an excellent, detailed how-to video. Very informative. Step by small step. Perfect for someone like myself who's never worked on a carburetor before. Excellent approach and instruction. Thanks.
Finally! Found a video that actually tells & shows proper steps
Be sure to check this one out ua-cam.com/video/9GSM0TnprNE/v-deo.html
Think i need a new needle valve. Gas leaking through carb
Briggs/ bol push
This is the definition of *clean*. Everything is like brand new
Helped me get my mower running again and avoided a trip to the repair shop! Thanks for the detailed video!
You are THE BEST teacher! I watched several videos on B&S carb rebuilds and this one is the best by far! Thank you, my lawnmower is running like new!! :-D
Thanks for watching!
Yes he gets straight to the point
Thanks for the video, i just removed the carburator and cleaned it with brake cleaner . It was full with oil. I missed your video so i didnt cleaned the jets in distributor. Will do it again. Thanks to your instructions. Just a message to youtubers, in my case the previos owner had about 1/2 a liter of extra oil that caused to run into the carburater when placed in shed upright.
Detailed and great explanation! I followed your steps on my 675exi series and my lawn mower is up and running now! Thank you for this awesome video!
This is the best DIY video that I have used. The steps were laid out in a logical manner. The tips given were very useful. My mower runs like new. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Very detailed compared to other videos. Thank you my lawn mower started right up after sitting for over a year.
Excellent video describing cleaning B&S plastic carburetor. I successfully cleaned one on a B&S 675, but this video showed more detail by further disassembled the jet assembly.
Yes, this is the best video I have seen on repairing a carb. THANK YOU!
My lawnmower started after following this guide! Thank you!
Hi I just want to thank you so much for sharing your knowledge I followed your instructions step by step and me who’s not a mechanic and wow !! after assembling the carb , installation filled it half way just one pull and it started my wife was so happy
Thank you
I watched your video and had the carb cleaned and mower running in about a half hour! It was blocked in one of the tubes. Thanks for taking the time to post your vids.
Thanks for watching!
Best video on this subject I've seen. Just cleaned my carb for the 3rd time, needed to be reminded of the steps. Very well done.
This couldn't have been a better tutorial. I was able to complete the work on my B&S 725exi in about an hour, and it works like a champ now. Thanks!
Very well done. Clear and concise. I have this exact engine on a power washer, only one year old. Couldn’t keep it running. Decided to follow your carb cleanup - gel fuel was exactly where you mentioned. Reassembled , started first pull. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for this step by step video. I had never done this before and I was able to clean the carburetor and get my lawn mower running again. Great job putting this video together.
Absolutely one of the best most detailed how to videos I’ve seen. Attention to detail and clear and concise instructions. I’ve cleaned numerous dirt bikes, and quad carburetors over the years but never a plastic one. You made it very easy to take care of my problem. I have a Husqvarna 3100 power washer which was made by Briggs & Stratton that wouldn’t start and I’ve heard that you just throw the plastic carburetors away and buy a new one. Not the case. Thanks for all your help.
Thanks for the kind words, glad it helped!
Rebuild based on the first two videos didn't work. This one was much more thorough. I rebuilt based on the steps here and she started on the first pull. Great video! Thank you!
Great video. Now this is how you make a video, he shows how to take it apart in detail and how to put it back together in detail, great work.
My Troy Built mower with the same Briggs and Stratton engine/carburetor wouldn't start after sitting all winter. I've never messed with small engines or carburetors, but I found this video and it seemed easy enough. Followed it exactly, took apart the carb, cleaned up the fuel tank and fuel line - which is where the problem was. My screen at the bottom of the fuel tank was gunked up with old gas and when filled with water nothing flowed out. Anyways, learned a lot from this video and it solved my problem and saved me a bunch of money too. Thanks!
Used this vid as a guide yesterday. Mower feels brand new. Thank you!
Hands down the best Briggs video out there
Very detailed, excellent. Thanks for showing how to get the top off.
You can buy these carbs. for $10. The same carb has three #: 596505 or 597327 or 594058
Excellent video -- loaded with info, concise, and excellent views of the parts. Today I started a carb clean on my 725exi and stopped to see if I could find some info on UA-cam. I'm sure glad I found your video - it has saved me from making a mistake or two. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Nice tip on trimming the choke lever!
Many seem to hate these plastic carbs, but I love 'em. Consider the simplicity, ease of service, entire jet system pops right out, and NO CORROSION, EVER! Depending on the equipment, you can even do the clean and not even remove it from the engine.
Excellent vid as always.
Thanks for watching!
There really easy to remove and clean in ultra sonic cleaner
Thanks for the comment about being able to remove the jet system assembly without actually removing the carburetor. That is specifically what I was wondering about. So I thank you very much for that.
Great video! You might want to mention to be careful with the float needle. Has a rubber tip that can come off and it’s hard to find!
This helped me a ton. Scored a free 2019 craftsman pressure washer with the same carb and now it’s good to go. Thanks for the detailed video!
Thank you so much! Lawn mower is up and running thanks to your video!
I’ve watched a few videos on this and have to say yours has been the best. Thank you.
Thank you. You saved me a great deal of time. This model B&S has quite a different carb than some of the other models that I was trying to follow. This one is amazingly different. thanks for the video..
Beautiful. Instructions were perfect. I went from wanting to throw the mower out, to starting it first pull once the steps were completed. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching!
Just fix my neighbor's lawnmower equipped with plastic carburetor through 3 videos l viewed today .
Your's are the most informative, thanks
However, do simplify some procedures, since the interiors are pretty clean after opening it up, just pop the cartridge up ( using those sewing package needles and tool from Dollar Store) clear slightly enlarge the main jet, mouth blow to ensure all holes are unplug ... Reinstall accordingly !
One pull started and stay on repeatedly,
Self satisfaction 😅hank
This video was frickin fantastic I like the way you somehow was able to follow your work and you did not sit and talk about b.s. I noticed a lot of people make videos just like to ramble and here themselves talk, kind of like when we were younger and called a radio station to hear ourselves the DJ would always tells us to turn ur radio down !! Anyway I will gladly watch any video that you produce I enjoyed listening to someone that knew what they were doing and not just winging it! Thank you sir.
This is very thorough, really greatly appreciated!
This was the perfect video in terms of detail, information and speed. Thanks so much for making this. Unfortunately it did not work for my pressure washer with the same engine but I learned a whole lot more (didnt know I can remove the main jet to access the distribution beneath among other things). Thanks again.
Best video on how to clean the carburetor on the net. Managed to get a smooth running engine after following your extremely simple and clear instructions. Thank you and well done!
Thanks for watching!
Cool! I had been cleaning them with torch tip cleaners and fresh gas. Thanks man!!! I'm old school.
Hey man, just wanted to add that you do a great job with your videos- have helped me out on several occasions- always concise and very helpful. Big thanks from a Georgia boy
I just used your video to take the carburetor off of my lawnmower and your instructions were perfect. Tomorrow I’ll put it back together and hope it starts.
Absolutely the information I needed and then some. Great video, well presented with no wasted bull-pucky. Thanks for the parts info also. Now back to the mower!
This was an excellent tutorial for for this problem. I had never cleaned out my own carb before and was not sure about the project, or if this was the cause of my problem. I fallowed this video step by step (drained but did not remove tank) and the lawnmower is running better than new. I recommend watching the video right to the end first, then go back and go step by step. It was very helpful putting it back together. A few things to look out for. Loved this video. I'm sure you saved me at least $150.00 where we live. Thank you!
I bought a Snapper mower from Walmart it has the B&S 725EXI engine. I used it one whole season, then emptied the gas tank and put it away for winter. Got it out the following spring , filled it with gas, pulled on the cord and it would NOT start. Replaced the spark plug then the air filter. STILL NO DICE. Threw my hands up in the air and put it back in the garage, used the old mower I had on stand by since I knew it worked. Flash forward 3 seasons I see this video and the one about the choke system design flaw, I drag out the mower and apply everything you have in these two videos, pull on the cord and away she goes like a champ!!! DUDE!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world. I was already going to wheel it out to alley for spring cleaning, NOW I can use it till the cows come home.
Wish I had come across this video a week ago.. Best review I've seen! Now, to do it over.
Thanks!
Your video saved my day. My mower works lime a charm now. If anyone is facin the « start-then-stall » issue, this is the solution. A tip is, I used my bike pump to blow air in it as I don’t have a compressor.
Thanks! Followed every step and the mower started up on the first pull. No doubt this saved me a bunch of trial and error.
Great job of detailing the cleaning process! You saved my day, thanks.
This helped me out a lot man, very comprehensive easy to understand and follow, you made a great guide and thank you for helping me fix my mower!
I want to congratulate you on a very well made video that was straight forward and easy to understand 👏🏼 while you may have posted this 4 years ago, it’s actually more relevant now as these machines age and become less reliable. I’ve taken all you’re advice onboard and was able to get a non-functioning mover running better than ever 🏆 … thankyou, you’ve got a new subscription 🫡
Great video for the 725EXi carb! I took my carb apart 3 times but couldn't get the mower to work until I used your video tutorial.
I love seeing videos about equipment that I actually own. Thanks for all the great videos and thanks for all the info. Awesome job.
Anytime, and as always, thanks for watching!
Thank you for the very good description of what I need to do to fix the engine on my step-daughter's lawnmower. I am a true newbie when it comes to fixing mechanical things, but you did such a fine job of telling and showing me what to do that I feel confident that I can do the job.
Thanks for the kind words, and good luck on the mower, thanks for watching!
Brilliant tutorial - saved me time, money and my sanity. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
One of the best videos out there. Great job!
EXCELLENT video! Thanks very much for posting. I have a Craftsman mower with one of these cranky plastic carbs. Your video is just what I needed to fix my mower and put it back into action.
Good work! This worked perfectly on the first pull afterwards. Thank you!
Thanks for the great video - fixed my surging mower issue now running like a dream 👍
Thanks! Got mine working immediately!
Finally got my mower running; thank you!
Worked like a charm. Thanks for the tutorial!
There’s ton of wontabe mechanic on utube
But you are the real mechanic and the rest are a waste of time
Thank You’ll for information and great videos we can learn from
Thanks
Your tutorial is excellent. Keep up the good work brother!
Thank you so much for sharing. My lawnmower has been sitting for 2yrs. Can't afford lawn service anymore. So been trying to get it running for a month. An found your channel. Hadn't tried cleaning the carburetor. Didn't know how really. Prefect. First pull after your instruction. Happy days. 😊
Thanks for watching Dana!
Thank you! Easy to follow and worked perfect
Good video
My craftsman platinum 7.25 hp lawnmower wouldn’t start.
Went through my carburetor,
It fire right up.
Excellent video! I might be brave enough to try to clean the carburetor now. Thanks!
Want to say thank you.
My Snapper mower with this B&S engine would not perform. Followed the tutorial and the filing down of the lever for the choke fixed everything. Followed what the video said - removed the tank and carburetor. Cleaned everything with carburetor cleaner and blew out everything with my compressor. The mower runs like it is brand new again.
I want to thank you for an easy to follow video for cleaner the carburetor.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching, glad to hear you have it running again!
Great video! One thing to be wary of when using compressed air to clean the white main jet cassette is that it is possible to dislodge the other brass jet insert. Not the one that sits in the fuel in the float bowl but the other one. This happened to me but luckily I saw it fly out and found it!
Thanks. I have a Swisher string trimmer with a Briggs and Stratton 675 EFI engine, and found this video helpful in figuring out how to remove the carb so I could de-gunk it. The only differences from what was shown in the video was that the screws holding the engine cover on has a #20 Torx head, and I found it easier to reconnect the engine breather to the air filter housing prior to reinstalling the engine cover. Great instructions.
Thanks for the great video, my BNS mower started right up after sitting for 5 months
This was great! I got the motor running in about 10minutes after watching your video. Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching!
Had a 725exi that would fire but not run; cleaned out the carb based on the video. Runs great now. Very good video.
Thanks very much on the detailed video, sorted out my carby issue no problem - cheers!
You saved me..mower died after about 10 minutes into a one hour now. Local engine store didn't have this carb. Followed your instructions and was back in business. One thing I didn't have was the hex bolt for the bowl so I just hoped it was fairly clean. Running like new! You saved me tons of time and some money! Thank you!
About to give this a go. Thank you SO much for posting this.
Thanks for watching!
1st class audio and video and good editing and lots of experience and thank you on a 550 I replaced the plastic white part.
That carb part cost $25 and it started A ok
Thank you so much for your very thorough videos!!! Very professional
Good presentation when you return mower fixed and washed to customer.
Awesome video.
Very descriptive.
Thank you for sharing. I can say that your explanation and recording are fiest class. Thank you again.
great video as always, very concise and instructional thanks
Great video, man! Super clear instructions and nice closeups. Made cleaning my carb super easy. My motor starts now!
Great to hear, thanks for watching!
easy to follow with many usefull tips, real helpful
Really good video on this type of b&s carb. Very well done.
You just saved me whatever the cost of a service would have been.. I wasn’t confident that it wound do the trick but it started literally first pull of the chord.. thanks so much.
Glad to hear you're back up and running Adam. If you don't mind, consider leaving me a Google review? Most of my customers are older and don't use computers much, so I'm trying to boost my reviews. Thanks for watching!
way better than the other videos I watched .
Ver well explained. Will try tomorrow. Thanks
Excellent video, my mower was "surging", I didn't find anything obvious like the chunks in the video but after cleaning the carburetor, cleaning the tank and using new non-ethanol gas the mower works great, thanks.
Nice presentation !!! very well explained !!
Excellent video. Packed with info and the pace was perfect. Thank you very much.
Thanks for watching!
