All truth about everything you have said especially the part about spectrum radios and receiver. Your thrust reverse will pull on the flaps some because a true thrust reverser's intake is still in the front of the turbine. Pulling air from the back will pull air over the trailing edge of the flaps.
You even knew to give it a Western Airlines registration to reflect a 737-300 Delta got from Western with that old livery? Damn, dude... you know your airliners! Wouldn't a 757 be amazing?!
Hey John good Evning. It's Tony the guy who wants to set up my AL37 Jetliner to use ailrons for spoilers. I had a problem setting it up even after trying to follow video. My configuración was set to 2 ailrons to 2 flaps and li left the tail in normal. So I had no landing gear working or showing as an option in my radio. My radio is a NX10 spektrum a bit different from your radio. I see you got the IX SERIES.
Yeah, you'd need a minimum of 12 channels to follow my setup guide - hence why "IX12/20 required" is in the title. You can't do it with a 10ch setup unless you're willing to give up flaperons or tailerons, or both.
@@TwoBrosRC Thank you So much 🙏 for your response. However I'm a little disappointed that I'm not able to do that with a 10 channel radio lol which I just bought not to long ago when I Bought the Jetliner. I guess I figured 🤷 what would I do with more than 10 channels , ha ha guess I fooled myself. I a bit disappointed ,but I guess I can live without it . Anyway your Help is much appreciated thank you. Maybe I can figure out how to get thrust reverses working 💪. I herd you mentioned that in your video. Would be nice to have without investing too much more money 💰 into this hobby I love so much. Have a great day. Keep up the beautiful flying videos, I love them. You're very informative the way you explain in detail what you're doing. Thank You.
This is great! Im blaming yoy for me missing cash in my pocket cause of your performance vids on this plane. Haha. I just picked up a used al37 thats in pretty good condition and watching your vid to set up some cool flight controls. I only have a 8360t for now. Gotta wait for those 10360s to come back in stock. Love the paint job. Is that rustoleum spray paint you used?
Haha, thanks Jared! the 10360T isn't needed unless you want full flaperon/taileron control. I did use the Rustoleum spray but picked up the flat paint which was a poor idea in retrospect. It took several coats of Polycrylic to make it that shiny when it should only have taken one or two.
Hi, I just ordered my very first freewing plane that is a f18 high performance pop and using a ar8360t receiver and wondering about the blue box. Might even use the ar637ta that is in my eflite f16 80mm for the freewing f18 and install the ar8360t in my eflite f16 80mm, just haven't messed with a freewing model yet. I've been fly rc for 30 years even though most my experience was using old airtronics radios 72hrts glow motors balsa ply models
Hey Jon, got my AL37 from "ricardopr54" in the comments below and doing some serious electronic modifying, including the thrust reverse... I'll let ya know how it goes. I'm doing pretty much everything except flaperons as I'm only running an 8 channel setup. My question is, on your setup, did you only have the "GEAR" going from your receiver into the Blue Box for LED power and the front nose light? I know you said you got the V3 LED controller, but does it still have to know the gear went down through the Blue Box? I think I'm going to have flaps and gear wires going into mine, which both run through the white wires to the wings, and then I don't have the Blue Box risk either way for all my main control surfaces. Great video by the way... I'm very excited to get mine going.
We use the blue box only for lighting. The rest of the servos are wired independently to the receiver. You can pick up a second set of PCBs for the ribbon connector and plug that into the ribbon that normally plugs into the blue box, then plug in servo leads from the ribbon to your receiver to bypass the box but still make it easy to put the jet together.
I spent hours and couldn’t get it right, also on 2 ailerons 2 flaps wing type I don’t get the crow option in Flap System 😕. I have a IX12 and yes it’s updated and crow is still not there.
How did you control the ailerons independently for the air brake? I have an AL37 and they are using the Freewing Multi-Function Control Box E (MCB-E) so there is some weird wiring going to the wings for the servos. Did you replace the wiring all the way to the servos from the main bay?
hi there, wondering if you could help me, i flew my al37 once for abou 3 minutes then i lost power and landed by it self . about a year ago, now i want to fly it again after getting a new battery, and all is good but for some reason i dont understand the ailerons go up or dowm at same time, radio is a tcap 2.4ghz futaba. any ideas. i checked cable leads but they are fine. dont know what sgoing on all is set standerd as it comes from factory
@@TwoBrosRC hi there found out that both servos that come with plane are actually reverse direction from standards 9g servos. like the bkue ones metal gear,
Two Bros - On two different videos you mention adding tail weight- 35 grams on one, and two ounces (56 grams) on the other. Which amount did you actually use? Thanks in advance!
We can't give you the specific weight since the plane is currently hanging up from the ceiling 4 stories above Jon's desktop computer, but the general idea would be to put about 0.5 to 1 oz of weight in the far end of the tail to help shift the CG further back with minimal weight gains.

Man is this awesome! I’m definitely gonna do what you did with my Al37.
Your thrust reverse will pull on the flaps some because a true thrust reverser's intake is still in the front of the turbine. Pulling air from the back will pull air over the trailing edge of the flaps.
I don't think it's going to matter much, the amount of suction at the distance the flaps are spaced from the exhausts would be minimal.
This is awesome! Thanks for taking your time to put this video tutorial together! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Nah, I didn't come up with the registration. Callie Graphics designed the decals, I just applied them. A 757 would be great though.

@@TwoBrosRC right on. Thats true. I will probably just stick with the 8ch. Flaperons would be cool, but i think i will enjoy crow the most.
@@jared6072 I haven't actually tried crow for landing. The model lands so well that it never really came up.
Did you do the Delta Decals yourself? It looks amazing!
Nah, those are from Callie Graphics on request. Thank you!

Hi Jon (no H), do you mind telling me what model of jet that is on the floor? You can see it clearly at 3:13? Nice airliner too! Thanks.
E-flite Viper 90mm.

In this vid we ran wires and removed the PCB for the ailerons and flaps.
I HAVE A L 737 FROM MOTION RC WHAT PAINTS DO YOU USE. I AM DOING A SOUTHWEST SCHEME, SO I DO NOT BUBBLE THE FOAM UP.
We used Krylon spray paint.
what kind of servos and mfg did you use for replacment for the freewing servos?
AGFRC B11DLS servos. I believe I mentioned it in the video.
