I’ve been on BiLevel NIV for 6 and a half years now, when I was first put on it in hospital I used one their Generic Masks, when I went home with my own ResMed Lumis 150 ST-A VPAP they gave me the Quattro Air full face and P10 nasal masks, the Quattro Air was okay, but with my pressures IPAP 30 EPAP 10which I needed to treat my condition, I have Scoliosis which causes me to retain Co2 because the gas exchange in my lungs doesn’t work properly, I couldn’t cope with P10 my pressures are too high for a nasal mask. I used the Quattro Air for a couple of months until I went for my first appointment with my Respiratory Physiotherapist, she gave me the Philips Respironics Full Face and the Mirage Quattro, again I tried Philips Respironics Full Face, but I found I couldn’t get get a good seal and had a lot of leaks, but the Mirage Quattro gave an excellent seal and was quite comfortable, so I used that for about a year then at my next hospital appointment my Respiratory Physiotherapist she recommended I try the AirFit F20 which was new out at the time and I liked it immediately because there was nothing on your forehead so less claustrophobic. I have used the F20 since, but I’ve found over the last year the Headgear Velcro has become awful for, it seems to wear in no time. I get most ResMed and Philips Respironics masks free from the hospital through the NHS, so I went back to the hospital recently just to pick some masks up and I asked if they still had the Mirage Quattro and when I explained about the problem with the F20 they gave me 2 Mirage Quattro masks and it’s still an excellent mask for me at my pressures, which thankfully now been decreased slightly to IPAP 28 EPAP 10 and I forgot to mention I used to use Oxygen 2 litres through my NIV at bedtime, which was stopped last year, so all is good. If anyone is on high pressures like me and wants an alternative Full Face mask to the F20, I would highly recommend the Lowenstein Lena mask, it is a great mask for high pressures which it was specially designed for, I now alternate between the Mirage Quattro and Lena as my my main masks.
My daughter has been using this mask since she was 4 years old. She is 17 now and its the best one she has ever used. She has never had any facial deformities and I strictly believe that this mask is what has prevented it.
I have the freedom mask with the tube at the top - which I like - and I've tried both the nasal pillows and the mask and I don't like the feeling of things touching my nostrils. Is it possible to fit a nasal mask like AirFit N20 on the freedom mask? Or do I have to do with the hose-in-front mask?
It would be interesting for you to review the Resmed Activa LT. I only just became aware of this mask recently, and there aren't many videos on it. If the Bleep Eclipse hadn't solved all of my problems, I would be interested in trying it.
I used the Mirage Quattro for 20 years. My durable medical equipment supply company no longer carries this mask. While antiquated the mask worked very well for me. Yes, it’s heavy and bulky but for a restless sleeper it did a very good job and I seldom had problems with leaks. Overall it was a good mask. I tried the F&P Vitera but it wasn’t a good fit for me. I am currently using the ResMed AirFit F20. After understanding how to fit and adjust it to my face I’m sleeping fairly comfortably. Though I’m still in that “getting used to it” phase.
Which mask would you recommend for me? I have facial hair beard and mustache. I prefer full face. I’m a mouth breather at times. Right now I have been trying to get used to nasal pillows, can’t stand it.

I’m still using the Resmed Quatro Air until I find something better.
