This was a wonderful review. I think your pros/cons are spot on. I've tried both masks. I love, love the memory foam. In over 20 years of using CPAP therapy it's the only mask that's worked for me. I'm happy to report that my events are consistently below 1.

I’ve used the memory foam AirTouch for a while. One thing that seems to reduce foam deterioration is to wipe your face to get rid of the skin oils.

I switched from the silicon version to the foam version and never looked back. I get a much better fit with the foam, almost no leaks (7-16) and I can crank down the tightness if necessary without tearing up the bridge of my nose. I replace the foam portion every month and keep it cleaned daily with cpap mask wipes. By subscribing to an auto renewal every month it helps with the higher cost of the foam. Overall, money well spent in my opinion.

I've been using the full-face foam mask for over 3 years and it's been wonderful. It's lightweight, so there's no tendency of the mask to come unsealed when I move my head. And it allows me to sleep on my side in virtually any position. With this mask I have 100% compliance. I couldn't be happier with this CPAP solution!!!

As always, great review! The AirTouch F20 is what my husband now uses and he has a short beard. We started with the silicone version and couldn't control leakage (also had trouble with the machine noise itself which was corrected when we got the ResMed AirSense 11). Unfortunately, his script is 17cm (which is obviously high) and trying to adjust for leaks while not giving him a headache has been tricky. I think the ultimate solution is a lower, varying pressure, that fluctuates between 7 and 15 as needed by AHI's. We're working on this with his specialist. Nonetheless, this is mask (and machine) are what we're sticking with even if we have to replace the cushion (mask) every 2-3 weeks. With any other combination neither of us would get any quality sleep!

Good review of the options. I use the ResMed N20 mask. Started with the AirFit as recommended by my DME ... medium size as recommended by the fit kit. Hated that mask ... felt like the silicon edge was going to slice my nose off. Tried an AirTouch medium and liked the foam much better ... but, the mask itself kept tickling my nose ... think the foam squashes down a little more than the silicon. Tried a Large AirTouch mask and am still using it. The point, that you touched on in the video, is that not everyone has the same face structure. The fit kit only measured nose width ... not a good standard for my face. So, it doesn't hurt to go outside of the norm when looking for the best mask fit. For the last 90 day supply of masks, my DME allowed one Large AirFit mask in the mix ... want to be sure it isn't my new best mask.

I have struggled with finding the right mask for my facial features. I have worn the F20 for about a week and it is better but the silicone is irritating enough that I don't make it through a whole night.I tend to wake up after two hours, try again another 2+ hours and then I am done. After watching this I am ready to try the memory foam to see if this is more comfortable. I watched the review with your wife and found it encouraging.

I've been using the AirTouch N20 for over a year now, probably longer and used the silicone AirFit N20 before that. All the negatives mentioned for the AirFit I had, but haven't experienced any of the negatives mentioned for the AirTouch, aside from maybe the length they've lasted though i've never really timed when I replaced them. I did over Christmas just have an AirTouch fail and have to be replaced however not for the reason mentioned of the memory foam separating but instead the part that is common between both the AirFit and AirTouch the silicone that attaches into the plastic, that seal separated. That was a pain, I was out of town, didn't have a spare with me and with it being over Christmas was a challenge. I did try to temporarily fix with electric tape to get the seal until could get a new one but didn't think about the moisture from the humidifier causing an issue which them made the tape a mess and got black all over my hands, face, frame and sheets. Do NOT try to fix with electric tape, lesson learned bad idea. I will say that cushion I also pushed longer than I think I've pushed any other cushion, I was out of supplies and kept putting off reordering. Just now getting around to finally reordering (aside from temporary single replacement over Christmas). So that one the failure happened way after the typical expectation of 30 days. I think I used that one for a good 6 months before it failed. The replacement I ordered over Christmas is now already over 30days and still no issues. I will say the one thing I have found is around the 30day mark the memory foam around the bridge does seem to start wearing and losing some shape. How long the AirFit and AirTouch have lasted is pretty similar.

I had the same experience. Glad to see I'm not alone. My theory is that I grind my teeth so much that it wiggles the foam back and forth on the bridge. The silicone doesn't seem to do it as much.

I use the N20 cushion but heard it's a good idea to get a full face mask if you ever get a cold or are congested, so I bought it and tried it for 3 days and didn't like it. I put it away and forgot about it. I had nasal surgery 3 days ago and thank God I was able to find the AirFit F20 otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep. I won't know if the surgery was successful for a few weeks, so either I go back to my cushion or stay with the F20. If I stay with the F20 I'm definitely going to try the Memory Foam.

I’ve tried both the foam and silicone versions of this mask. I use 15 cm of pressure. Because my nose is so narrow I could never get the foam mask to seal properly around the bridge of my nose. But I can tighten the silicone mask enough to stop the leaks. Tried the smallest size of the foam mask (I usually wear a medium), but even that didn’t work. Wish I could figure out how to make the foam mask work due to its superior comfort.

After having major F20 silicone mask leaks for over a year ( no green smile face in the morning ). I switched to the F20 AirTouch Foam mask and asked myself why did I wait a year. For the past two weeks every morning I wake to a "green smiley face" and my "myAir" nightly score has move from 50-70 range to 95-98 range every night. Cleaning the F20 foam seal does look to be an issue.

I’ve been using the Mirage Swift nasal pillows for years, but now it’s discontinued. My chin relaxes and I end up with some mouth breathing therefore extra dry mouth which wakes me up. I use a wide elastic chin strap but my mouth fills up with air even though my lips are closed. What brand and style of mask would you recommend for someone that likes the nasal pillows but has a mouth-air problem. I’d like very much to get away from the chin strap if I could. It irritates my chin.

I tried the F20 Air-touch size medium first. I liked it but it makes my nose completely stuffy. Even feels like it’s pinching my nose sides. I have a small nose and thought it would fit fine. I switched to the F20 Air fit size medium. It works good but is not as comfortable. When I compared the two side by side with the inside facing up, they have a different shape. The Air Fit is more round. So for now I am using it. I do wake most mornings with marks on my face and the top bridge of my nose is permanently red. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry to be a Debbie downer but do a 2 min google search on what VOC chemicals are in memory foam. Then look into them to better understand what they do to your health. Then ask yourself if that is what you want stuck to your face all night for the next year or two. Keep your life insurance policy paid up for your loved ones if you do. This is the end of my PSA.

I agree about the toxicity of the.memoru foam. I've scrupulously avoided memory foam ever since it first appeared on bedding etc. But since l have needed cpap therapy, l find l have little choice. I need a full face and the silicone was terrible, sore nose, itchy skin, leaks. I trialed the foam version with immediately good results and comfort. I don't like it but it's either die from memory foam or die from severe untreated complex apnea! All that plastic is bad too, plastic water tub, plastic hose, plsdyoc mask, all shedding microplastics we are inhaling. You can't win 😢. Just do your best with what you have and leave the rest up to chance.
