So the wiki is wrong. Disengagement works when you're under one shot protection (25%) and you take a hit for much more damage. Tested at 18% health taking a hit that would put me at -12,000% hp, disengage still worked.
i recently moved up to 2BC for the first time (after YEARS of being stuck on hand of the king, wahoo!) and have been puzzling over modifiers to help keep me alive a bit longer. This video was insanely helpful so thank you for your hard work! Also, I'm sure somebody has already mentioned this, but you have a great voice for this stuff! Very calming and relaxing resulting in your videos being a great watch right before bed. Amazing job, subscribed!
Congrats on getting up to 2BC! Some of the early difficulty spikes can be pretty tough so that's great to hear. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the positive feedback about the commentary, too.
Just finished. Excellent analysis, as always. I think I had been procrastinating watching through the whole thing because I knew this was the last tier list and I have really enjoyed them. It is a bittersweet irony that we all wanted to have you complete the collection but now there won't be any more. As far as my own mutation stand-by's, so far, I have gotten from 0 to 4 BC running a Brutality build with Panchaku combined with Combo, Melee, and Open Wounds. This was one of the Brutality builds suggested by veedotme. For powers, I usually hunt for a Cleaver and Sinew Slicer. In my off hand I take Throwable Objects, but I usually forget I have it, honestly. The turrets and Panchaku usually melt bosses and I actually have to be the most careful in biomes to make sure I don't go into the boss fights too low on health. I find the toughest part of this build is consistently trap damage. Hope your move went well and thanks again for another fantastic tier list video.
I'm glad you enjoyed the grand finale! Ending the series is bittersweet for me, too. If the final update ever makes it to console I'm going to do a tiny tier list for the new stuff so there might be an epilogue sometime down the line. That Brutality build is such a classic - I'm glad it has been doing work for you. Funny how that second slot is almost an afterthought since the 'chucks are so good. If you're running into trap damage it might be worth swapping out Open Wounds for Masochist during biomes, or using Foresight from the Diverse Deck as your secondary skill to help soak up a hit every once in a while. I haven't played a run in a bit so after I hit reply I'm going to fire the game up and take your build for a spin. As always, thank you for your thoughtful comments and support! All is good on my end and I hope you are well, too.
One use for dead inside I learned from veedotme is to go survival, gold digger Gastro, and Midas blood. Use your flasks totally then late game switch to soldier resistance, dead inside and gold plating. Gold plating works as a percentage of health so you’ll have a huge health bar and tons of gold shield. You can face tank any boss without even caring about damage. It’s essentially a free win. Incredibly broken build. Most of us won’t need it to win but it’s still fun to do.
Just got around to watching this video and I realized you were talking abt me in the intro!! Thank you, that’s really cool to see!! Great video as always and I hope the move is going well!!

I personally love Serenade and every time you switch from holding to not holding it, you get the shceme bonus dmg, so I almost always run scheme if I find a serenade and run with that
Also just yesterday had a run where I already had the predator mutation selected and got Serenade later in one biome. Serenade swinging on it's own and killing something counts for you to get predator's invisibility which I found REALLY weird. Based on that you would also get the bonus damage from scheme for those hits too. Haven't tested that and it's pretty tough to test I feel

Great video, Tip when DG says he not gonna talk about something (the forge or hades) just know he gonna talk about it at least three different times XD
@DisappointedGiant Another combo I forgot to mention liking specifically on mobile bosses is Barbed Tips + Ripper. If it's moving too much to keep up with, the Barbed Tips will deal damage while you're trying to close the gap, while your melee weapon can be used to take off a chunk of health and reload once you do get close.
I'm a new dead cells player, and I have an idea for how they could make DEAD INSIDE feel good. Since it increases health by 100%, they should make the game interpret full health as 200% instead of 100%. That way, any weapon/item affects that only work with %100 health will be in full effect until half health, since the game sees it as above 100% health. I think it would be a great Risk/Reward. It sucks that the game won't be getting any updates anymore, but I think that would've made it a niche but awesome mutation
A cool use for Dead Inside that Veedotme recommended is using it w/ soldiers resistance + gold plated armor w/ 100K gold in a survival build. You will have 40K hp going into the later stages of the game, so even the biggest hits will only cost you like 3K gold making you effectively immortal. Very niche but fun way to use Dead Inside.
Also works with recovery instead of gold plating if you don't have much gold or never picked up a gold digger in that run. It's meh for first bosses, but it's crazy for mid-late.
I love to use Alienation; its a great recovery after a bad sewers/promenade/arboretum, since corrupted prison/prison depths has a guaranteed cursed chest, which means you basically get a free flask. It saves runs that would've otherwise ended early on.
Nice, glad to hear it's helpful for you! I used to lean on it at that exact point in the game many updates ago since it would heal a bunch and clear 6 malaise. I'll have to try it out again the next time I'm having a tough run.

I'm gonna say it... Velocity is the best mutation there is to improve your skill. Practice moving fast through the bioms and get used to it. It will feel like playing a new and crazy game mode.
Man... I know you dont use the assassins dagger much, but try it with phaser, squeme, killer instinct and predator. You barely have to walk. You just teleport thru the whole biome and 1 hit or 2 hit everyone while being invisible. Its insanely fun. I also run with lightspeed to make it more visually insane hahaah.
Oh yeah, that's sounds like such a sick build! I have a list of the items at the bottom of my tier lists so I can use them more, and Assassin's Dagger is literally the first one on there. I'm going to give this a shot sometime and see how it works. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@DisappointedGiant haha yea!! I watched the video of you ranking melee weapons and listened to what u say about assassins dagger specifically. Thats why I knew. I'd looooove if you tried it man, really. I just have 1 month experience (already on 3bc) and would love to see a better player use it. Struggles with some bosses tho, u know why. Ok so if u dont mind, i'll tell you how I go about it: 1. The bliss of this build is the immediate cooldown refresh of phaser thanks to killer instinct. I get it after prison quarters bc it already feels good at lower scroll counts. 2. Use lightspeed to get rid of rats and bc its super fun. It adds more to the energy of teleporting, moving fast, being an invisible bullet pulverizing enemies. 3. I want more tho... I want the crazy damage. Use frozen blast as a secondary weapon. 4. Get that beautiful +175% damage to frozen enemies in the dagger. 5. Not only that, but... In one run i got the 175% and the 75% for rooted. Those two combined. Why is it good? As u know, phaser roots enemies by default. So if theres an enemy with a lot of HP... U freeze it, phaser to it, and... You know. 6. I've realized something fun as hell. Getting that 175% damage to frozen enemies on that Lightspeed. I reeeeeally love this bc i love how lightspeed looks and feels but i always feel underwhelmed with the damage. Like i wish i killed medium HP enemies u know? Well you get that very high damage lighstpeed like that. You clear. 7. Freezing all enemies is not necessary, it also makes it slow. 8. I binge on this build on custom mode. Anyways it would be a pleasure if u tried this or any variation of thid build! If its good and works maybe you could show everyone? Ive been enjoying your videos A LOT. I got very happy when i saw the mutation tier list. Love the unscripted feel, really. Your scripted stuff is equally good. Also, your voice is GOOD. I root for you so much!! Greetings from Barcelona!!
@@edgarpascualnacher3511 I'll definitely have to check this out! Using Frost Blast or Ice Bow to get the +175% on frozen in addition to Scheme's DPS boost must be huge. I've been thinking about doing some kind of viewer build stuff in the future, either in shorter videos or on a stream or something, so I'll keep this in mind if I end up going that route. To be honest I get anxious thinking about streaming since I can play well and talk well, but I'm not great at doing both at the same time! Thank you so much for your support, comments, and compliments. I really appreciate it! :D
@@DisappointedGiant Seems like an appealing idea! Specially if it's stuff you are not super familiar with. I'll keep an eye for your next videos for sure! As for what you said about being anxious, I understand. If I can help somehow, let me tell you this: we don't expect you to comment a livestream like you do in, for example, a tier list video. We all know what it feels like playing Dead Cells. We are here bc we know this game. It would be unreasonable to expect that. Also, in my opinion, it would be really cool to see you in "gaming mode", you know? Like how you are while you are focused on the game. Ofc you can comment and say this and that, but you know... I think we would love that content. Anyways have a nice day!!
I didn’t expect masochist to be one of your “holy trinity.” No Mercy is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine. I realize there are better mutations, but I take it more than I probably should. I’m not sure I have too much trouble with most obstacles that masochist protects you from. Im not necessarily pointing out No Mercy as one of the top 3. I haven’t looked through all mutations to device on my personal top 3 yet.
I think No Mercy is really good! It's one of those mutations you can always take if you have an open slot and works great with DOT builds. On higher BC levels traps can do up to 30% damage and in levels like Distillery or Fractured Shrines taking Masochist can really help. It sounds like you're doing great avoiding traps!
I'm a sucker for Berserker since I really love stupidly slow weapons like Toothpick, Oven Axe or Demolition Ball, yoloing in a bunch of enemies and tanking everything while swinging my comical oversized axe around, after that I recover using What Doesn't Kill Me
Haven't finished but before I forget: you mentioned Hades quite a bit. Is this foreshadowing that you may be making some Hades content? I would enjoy that if it is something you are interested in.
I'm considering it, yeah! I wouldn't do something straight up since there are so many great videos out there already, but I was thinking about putting something together that blurs the line between both games so fans from one can better understand the other since they're so different. Explaining weapon aspects and upgrades in terms of the forge, keepsakes kind of being like mutations, etc. I've seen a decent amount of videos and posts about what the games do differently but not much about how their mechanics translate to the other.
@@DisappointedGiant That's a great idea for the video. As someone really familiar with Dead Cells and not familiar with Hades, that would be really helpful to me.
This is more of a theorycrafting post since getting the items you want will rarely ever happen, but would you basically never die if you get the Legendary Pistol, as well as Frenzy and Necromancy? I feel like it's good to have a decent split between Brutality and Survival since most shields fall under the survival category, and parrying is often a good way to ensure you're not getting hit AS often, but in the few times you do get hit, I feel like a vampiric pistol's the best way to patch yourself up.
Hey there! You want to focus on one stat as much as possible and only take an off-color stat when your primary isn't available. For example, if you're playing Brutality only take a Survival stat when it's on a Tactics/Survival scroll; if you want to play Survival only take a Brutality stat when it's on a Brutality/Tactics scroll. Stat spreading does give more HP overall but it makes your weapons less effective. You want to take enemies out as quickly as possible, so having as much as possible in one stat makes sure you can do that quickly. For a build where you can (almost) never die I'd go Survival and take Gastronomy, Necromancy, and then either Soldier's Resistance or What Doesn't Kill Me if you parry a lot. Legendary Pistol would be icing on the cake since it's SO good.
Watched a dead cells speed run recently where veedotme did a boss rush showcase, took extended healing for the final boss. Just popped 2 flasks in advanced, back to back, then rushed in and fought the boss. Not sure if that turned it into some really long duration healing over time, but I thought it was a sweet idea on paper? Would love to have someone check the numbers and explain that decision
Great question. I don't know if the flasks stack but if they did that would be a potentially insane 200% heal plus whatever the bonus damage% is for 24 seconds. Boss rush is pure pain so the potential of losing two full health bars in 24 seconds isn't unheard of (at least not for my sloppy attempts). Tainted Flask is the closest mechanic to this that I can think of and I'm pretty sure the damage bonus doesn't stack but just restarts the 20 second timer.
I really like these videos! Do you happen to have the separate audio for your voice over only? I listen to them while doing other things, and the music is a bit I the way...
@@cwtcw7058 Awesome, I'm glad you're enjoying them! I just uploaded the audio only to Google Drive if you want to download the MP3s. Psyechie and I don't know each other and haven't spoken before so the timing of me making videos is coincidental. Although that's a cool theory (!) there was no torch passing between us. Much respect to him though, he put out a ton of helpful and informative Dead Cells content.
@@DisappointedGiant He sure did! and I see you improving in many ways over his way of organizing data and comparing it. i don't think as many people would continue to play this game if it wasn't for this kinda content!
Combo must be different on PC than mobile. Combo, on mobile, gives a 15% damage buff (base) on kill for 8 seconds. I usually only play DC on mobile because it's one of the only full-fledged games available on mobile. I play it while I'm traveling and need to scratch that gaming itch.
Ah, yes. Combo was reworked in 3.4 so it's not on mobile yet. Even though old Combo isn't great for most bosses it's really good in biomes so I think it's still worth taking.
If you want change things up and learn how to parry it might be helpful to grab a shield in one hand and either: play on 0BC with assist mode on so you take low damage while trying to parry everything, or hit up the training room and practice parry timing against bosses and different enemies to see how it feels. I recommend trying the shield in eacg main slot to see what feels best for you; I parry with triangle but my friends use square for shields. I also have a shields/parry guide up that I'll link below if you want to check it out. If you're trying to get away from using the mutation totally there are some other generally good options you can lean toward early on in a run that are strong right off the jump like Gastronomy, Support (if you have a turret, even off color), Masochist, Recovery, or No Mercy. If you're playing Survival with two main weapons you can't go wrong with Kill Rhythm. BUT! All that said, if you aren't interested in parrying but you do want to use a shield then keep taking Armadillopack as your first pick because that thing is so helpful and just so much fun. Do whatever feels good, even if that means you just keep rollin', rollin', rollin' :D Shields guide: ua-cam.com/video/rTZYjQ5rXP8/v-deo.html&t
@DisappointedGiant thank you sir, will do ! I've been mix and matching stuff and went with -armadillopack with a legendary ice shield -frost blast + baseball bat And to top all that, throw in some frostbite and melee. I take armadillopack first, then frostbite and finish with melee and realy i just run everywhere, ice everything and wait for them to die by themselves, and if they don't, baseball bat spam
Demonic Strength is only in the beta so I haven't covered it but there's more information on the Wiki about it. What biomes are you talking about, though?
@@perangkatredmi5440 Ah, OK! The cursed biomes are only available on the Steam beta version right now, so not on consoles or mobile. If you are playing the beta you'll need to be at 2BC or higher and you'll see the cursed biomes. If you're not on beta you won't be able to get the content.

So the wiki is wrong. Disengagement works when you're under one shot protection (25%) and you take a hit for much more damage. Tested at 18% health taking a hit that would put me at -12,000% hp, disengage still worked.

Shoutout to face flask vengeance for being the first of many broken things to make the Dead Cells community completely braindead.
One thing I can say, I dont think I have ever used berserker after the newest rework, it just felt like there was aways something much better than it
I feel you. Since it's kill/timing based it works better with faster Survival weapons but I think old Berserker was a better overall fit.
@@DisappointedGiant Agree 100%
I really like these videos! Do you happen to have the separate audio for your voice over only? I listen to them while doing other things, and the music is a bit I the way...
Hey there! Are you talking about having videos without the music or just the audio files?
@DisappointedGiant just the audio :) big fan of your tier lists
@@cwtcw7058 Awesome, I'm glad you're enjoying them! I just uploaded the audio only to Google Drive if you want to download the MP3s. Real quick, I have to give the caveat that this is only for personal/private use so please don't re-upload/re-share/etc.

Let me know if you're able to successfully download and unzip the files. Also, when checking the files I realized I mis-clipped the melee audio and at the very end I let out a huge sigh lol. Thought it was funny so I kept it in there :)
Ima start doing dead cells content a cause of you
Also i love killer instinct with phaser
W Pleased Dwarf vid
i find it curious how your channel came to be just as pseychie was logging out. do you guys know each other? like was there some sort of torch pass?
Psyechie and I don't know each other and haven't spoken before so the timing of me making videos is coincidental. Although that's a cool theory (!) there was no torch passing between us. Much respect to him though, he put out a ton of helpful and informative Dead Cells content.
@@DisappointedGiant He sure did! and I see you improving in many ways over his way of organizing data and comparing it. i don't think as many people would continue to play this game if it wasn't for this kinda content!
@@juanarkantos That's a huge compliment right there. Thank you so much!
Even though old Combo isn't great for most bosses it's really good in biomes so I think it's still worth taking.
nice👍
I think I his is a mutation tier list
Imagine binge watching a dude talk about a game for hours
Imagine 👀
I still don't understand why are you disappointed
I think im way too relying on armadillopack, because i just cant use a shield in my 2 hand.
Any tips to help with my need to always pick it first ?
Do whatever feels good, even if that means you just keep rollin', rollin', rollin' :D

@DisappointedGiant thank you sir, will do !
I've been mix and matching stuff and went with
-armadillopack with a legendary ice shield
-frost blast + baseball bat
And to top all that, throw in some frostbite and melee.
I take armadillopack first, then frostbite and finish with melee and realy i just run everywhere, ice everything and wait for them to die by themselves, and if they don't, baseball bat spam
Bro, how to get demonic strength and how to enter biomes
Demonic Strength is only in the beta so I haven't covered it but there's more information on the Wiki about it. What biomes are you talking about, though?
@DisappointedGiant the way to get demonic strength is in cursed biomes or other biomes, if it's cursed biomes I don't know how, is there a tutorial?
@@perangkatredmi5440 Ah, OK! The cursed biomes are only available on the Steam beta version right now, so not on consoles or mobile. If you are playing the beta you'll need to be at 2BC or higher and you'll see the cursed biomes. If you're not on beta you won't be able to get the content.
@DisappointedGiant so cursed biomes are not available on mobile or console? So only available on pc?
@@perangkatredmi5440 Correct :( We're waiting for the patch to come to consoles and mobile but I have no idea when (or if) that will happen. Hopefully soon.
