"People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." (Theodore Roosevelt) The information in your videos is always wonderfully informative (even if it's something I've a good idea about, it's great to see it put out there for others who only pick up their cameras occasionally instead of to feed the family) BUT it is your total enthusiasm for the content yourself Chris that makes watching your channel so enjoyable. More especially, I respect that you go out of your way to just be frank and honest with your audience about the process of being a UA-cam Creator and that when you aren't 'feeling it' you risk algorithm penalties and you take a break or change something when you need to. Carry on Sir. You're doing great.
PS. Fuji REALLY should have that "OK....Next" message read "No Card...NEXT" IMO. I've only ever 'wasted' a few frames before I caught that I didn't have 'film' in my camera (and I don't really shoot 'action' any more...couches and kitchens will wait for me to put a card in to make their photo)...but still, I'd 'catch on' sooner if the message read "NO CARD....Dummy." LOL
Chris, you are THE BEST Fujifilm UA-camr ever! Each video is informative, entertaining AND educational. I own an X-T5 and my first action when trying to learn my camera is to watch a pal2tech video...not the company's manual. Please don't stop feeding this channel. I have referred many Fujifilm users to your channel and they have become fans. Don't know what I would do without my pal2tech videos on my camera. Your fans realize your passion and how much you put into each video letter to your followers. Thanks so much to THE BEST UA-camR EVER.
You are the reason for my Fuji life! The very best ambassador and teacher on UA-cam and you make it fun, interesting, informative. You are not talking to yourself. Please continue with what you do so well.
If I had to leave my children with someone, I would leave them with you. That says it all about the respect and admiration I have for you (and thousands of viewers also).
I really appreciate you! As a school teacher I appreciate your delivery and pedagogical approach, and as a new photographer, you have been a life saver as I have figured out my camera. Above and beyond those, you are a sincerely good person. Have a great weekend!
You are such a nice guy, love your Fujifilm stuff and love it that you are not afraid to show your emotions/feelings about why you started all this in the first place. Keep going, we will be watching.
You are incredible and keep me inspired me on another level with your contagious enthusiasm. Keep going Chris and remain unstoppable. I very much hope our paths cross one day.
I thought your video last week would indeed about the "Shoot without SD card" setting, the "store demo mode setting" as I call it, because that's the only scenario where I could see that setting being legitimate. (Although, perhaps it can also be legitimate when shooting tethered and store the images directly on the computer?). But when you explained about aperture, yes I could see why you actually made it about that. Regardless, take care of yourself. Stay amazing, stay yourself, do what gives you joy or you'll risk burning out and hey, nobody wants that.
I don’t know what I’d do without your videos - recently got the xt-5 … they informative, detailed but most importantly they are fun it feels real and very personal ! Your kids are right you are an amazing UA-camr …. Cheers 🥂
Btw your kids are right, you are AMAZING!! Have a great weekend yourself. I’m so glad I discovered your work and my photography is in a whole new and better place BECAUSE OF YOU 😄
Your videos have been a tremendous help since I purchased the XT-5. I have been a Fuji fan for years but have never fully understood all the menu terminology . I have started bird photography and could not have progressed so far without your help. Many thanks 🙏 from the UK.
I am from New Zealand and love watching your videos. Apart from the knowledge, you bring a lot of excitement and energy to the videos. I reach out to your channel first for any tips or solutions for my Fuji X-S10. So keep it up, and keep delivering these videos.
Fuji shooter since about 2011. Discovering your videos a few months ago resparked my having fun with photography. I learn something with each of your videos. Like many others I tune in for your unique personality and approach. Please keep it going!
I have no other subs to Fujifilm UA-camrs because I simply don't need to AND don't want to. IMO, the best UA-camrs have fun when filming. Zach (jerryrigeverything), Mark Rober etc. Your style is you, and you are soooo informative. Keep doing it.
I may be the other person in the world who needed this video. I forget all about that display button, so when I accidentally push it, I end up with something I can't fix. I really thought my XT30ii had some kind of software bug. A google search found this video. Thank you!!!
I just watched this. I thought there was something that would get rid of the histogram that was in the way on mt XT-4, but I couldn't find it. So - there's at least 3 people in this world that was wondering what the heck was going on!! As always, thanks for all you do 🙂
It confused me all the time. Sometimes during playback SOMEHOW I got the histogram which is annoying, and then PROBABLY press DispBack or Up button, and SOMEHOW it vanishes! Thank you for this clarification!
I love your videos, they are very informative and presented so well. I am a new Fuji user and your videos have been invaluable to me. I think we all enjoy your enthusiasm, so please keep doing the things you find the most fun and interesting!
Great blooper with the mechanical parrot😂 You're more fun to watch when you're passionate and excited. It may not help too much with attracting new viewers, since they haven't seen that yet, but I'm sure helps with keeping viewers around. I've watched videos from you whose subjects I didn't care about at all just because your conversation is entertaining! Good luck!!
Hello I love your videos. My english is very bad I see you subtitled and translated into spanish. I really enjoy them, they are very fun. Thanks to you,... I handle my Fuji xe3 better and now starting to get to know my new Fuji H2S
The first part of the vídeo solved a problem for me. When I did playback of my photos the initial screen had change. And I did not know the reason. Thanks
Thank you very much! You do a great job and I always feel like I'm sitting in the living room with a good friend and he's giving me answers to my questions or telling me news. Thanks for everything and best wishes from southern Germany! 🤗
Some of the Fujifilm UI options are extremely confusing and NOT at all user friendly! Thanks a lot for diving deep into this and explaining it so simply!
Definitely appreciate the clarification on the two different ways to change the display! I hadn't spent the time to fully figure it out, just kind of using the buttons and getting by well enough.
Bravo you have to get excited and have fun to convey a true message! As far as I know you are among the few to make such accurate, useful and intelligent reviews with a pinch of self-irony!
Hello Chris, thank you for this video, as always very useful! I discovered the use of the upper "D-Pad" button only a few weeks ago. I find the ability to see where the focus point is very useful. Question: Do you know if it's possible to display this focus point in Lightroom too? I know it's possible with Canon.
Chris: X S10 Users need your help to alert and bring attention to Fuji Corp. (Issue - Front Dial Command): X H2 has the same problem. But, Fuji did the Firmware update to fix the issue on X S2 ONLY..??? Problem: If your Lens Aperture Ring is on (A) Auto Mode - The Front Dial Command is working. But... If you use the Lens Aperture Ring Manually.. the Front Command Dial is dead, Useless..??? I wrote Fuji.. Nothing, I have Not heard from them. We need someone Credible like you to bring this up to Fuji Corp. All X S10 users will appreciatte your kind attention on this Issue. Thank you inadvance. Long Time Subscriber, Josh
I wish in the playback screen that there was a button to see the histogram, and then make it disappear. Often that's the only extra info I want to check quickly. But instead the camera makes me cycle through 3 or 4 screens, which kinda sucks. Like "up" should display the histogram, and "down" should make it go away. Actually come to think of it, why don't they make "down" cycle through those screens in the opposite direction???? Cheers, love you videos 👍
I was confused about it, so I rarely used the up button. Thank you yet again for an awesome video, teaching and entertaining us :D Please do keep having fun, as it shows in your effort and quality of the video!
Hi Chris, great that you’re back on line and thanks for yet more tips. My concern with playback is that I don’t seem to get what i was looking at through the viewfinder when i press the shutter button. Is it me? My photo looks great so i press, but then it isn’t what I expected…i bet it’s me and user error, I specialise in this 😮
Just bought the X-S20 and your videos have been by far among the most useful. Used your guide to the X-T5 to help me set it up. Any chance of a dedicated guide to the X-S20 video?
Thank you for clearing that one up, note me down as a confused user as well. To me you should be able to toggle all views from the "Disp Back" button having the two just makes it messy, at least to me.
awesome, like usual, you have been very helpful, I had no idea this was available. Now, having recently moved from an XE-3 to an X-H2, I seriously need you to tackle a video on the shutter type. Yikes, front + mech. EF up to 1/2000 then mech. EF + MS + ES , huh? Help.
Thanks for this fix. There are sometimes combinations of features that interact in a way that are impenetrable to some of us. I am recently experiencing something new: my custom button in front of the shutter release is at the default of turning off/on the Eye AF. When i got the Xt4 and XT5 bodies, the screen would put up a notification when this feature was turned on or off. Now I don’t see it on any of my Fujifilm cameras. Maybe something that go wiped with a firmware update? The function still turns Eye AF on or off, but I don’t know for sure if it’s off or on with you the screen notification that I used to receive. Anyone else experiencing this? I shoot weddings and sometimes I don’t want Eye AF on if the subject tries to grab a background eye.
I have a question, why does the live view look puncher and nicer before I take the shot compared to looking at the photo afterwards? I’m not talking about how AdobeRGB makes previewing photos look different, I use sRGB. I just feel like there is a difference between what I see before I shoot and after. Reviewing the image in camera makes it look flatter. (I do ofc edit RAW files so it doesn’t matter too much, I’m just wondering why it behaves like this.)
I have another issue with the display and the screen in the viewer. Sometimes when there is some artificial light the display is kind of slowly pulsing and the lights are changing slightly the color. Is this an issue of the auto white balance.
Question: With the newest Fuji sensors having almost twice the resolution of previous sensors, are lens upgrades needed to increase resolving power? It doesn't seem like they upgrade lenses often- would newer 3rd party lenses be preferable for higher resolution sensors?
Hello, since MacOS Sonoma was released Fuji cameras are no longer able to be used as webcams since the Fuji Webcam software is so outdated. Can you make a video not only highlighting this issue (so that Fuji notices) but also one that shows work around? I really don’t want to buy another DSLR brand as a work around
I hate the fact that after pressing playback, that the disp/back button is not back to picture taking. I frequently press the back button by mistake and then have to cycle the playback type back to what I want. It is not consistent with other things. You don't press menu to exit menu.
Hello from Finland! Thank you for all you do for Fuji lovers 🎉 Here is some question: my XT-5 got a bug, or something. After I push play mode to see the picture I just take I can't go back to a shooting mode. Only on a single shot mode. Ch and Cl work ok. But on S it doesn't work whatever I do. If I press half of a button I can't go back to shooting mode and if I try to push it till the end it just feels blocked. Nothing happening. I'm still in play mode and that's it. And on this mode one picture I took just now and previously lay on each other. So I see both pictures one on another. What could it be and how to fix it? Thank you 😊
I love your videos! I want to purchase a Fujifilm X100V but they're unobtainable!! Can you suggest another Fuji camera (with interchangeable lens) that would fall in the same price and image quality range? Thanks!!
Hi! Or do you have any advice and helpful tricks to make printing photos with Fuji enjoyable and color reproduction good? I'm currently using the ET8550 and I'm wondering if I'm able to get the quality like from the preview or old film developed in the lab
Hello i have an issue with my XT-3 when i shoot in 4k. I need to shoot in 4k for more than 30 min so i am reccording on a ninja V but for 40 min video my file is 140 GB. Do you know how i could bring the size down ? My settings are : 25 fps, H.264, 100 mbs, 4:2:2 10 bit. Are your 4k files this heavy ? Thanks for your videos, they are awesome !
i have question about interval shooting option, any way to do interval sapce time dinamic if i whant to shoot timelapse from evening to night, shuter speed is changing and i in time lapse night became faster that day time if it was dinamic time lapse be same speed
Hello! Can I just ask, what are the film simulations used for and why doesn't it show on Lightroom when viewing the raw file. For example, I took a b&w shot but when I opened the .RAF in Lightroom, it showed as a normal colored frame.
When I shoot in jepg+Raw format the image traferd in desktop 🖥️ monitor the space on the corners are More seen but when I bring the image to Photoshop the space are less why
I’m not sure if you know this, but Gear Geek published a video 10 days ago titled “Best Mirrorless Cameras 2024” and he includes some of your video clips, including clips of your wife. Perhaps he got your permission but he doesn’t give credit to any of his clips, including clips from other sources.
I wish there could be a preview mode that could only show the _highlights_ and not the RGB which covers most of the screen :/ And thanks for the new video as always :)
Thanks for the series of excellent videos! I am a new Fujifilm X-S20 shooter. This is exactly the subject matter I needed after doing an extensive shoot at the National Museum of the US Air Force. I left my auto ISO sky-high and got some unhappy noise in my images. Live and learn. I get to go back and correct my mistakes and make NEW ones! Dude, you are spot on. It's about the fun factor. I came from a Canon EOS 1D platform (in the early daze when 10 Megapixels was a lot) and it was a "very serious" camera. I went with the Fuji mainly because of the fun factor. Great work! Thanks!
You're an amazing presence in the world of UA-cam. I'm always impressed with your encyclopedic knowledge of both photography and Fujifilm equipment, and the energetic, amusing and practical presentations. Lastly, thank you for the information about the FlexiSpot desks. I purchased one as an early Xmas present and received the additional $30.00 discount. The desk has been set up and it IS amazing, so thank you again not only for the desk information but also for the education you provide and the person you are as you present it. Here's hoping you have a Blessed holiday season.
Thanks... been using these wonderful features... amazing all the tech that is buried in the menus... My X-T2 has the same OK Next message and it has not had a firmware upgrade in a looooong time... 🙂 I love your commitment to teaching and your style of presentation... 🙂 The kids are right... YOU are the best.. Thank You!
Hello! In the recent past you recommended this light “Aputure Light Storm LS C120D I| LED” but this model is no Longer available, which light today should replace it?
I am a very very choosy person, and I subscribed to your channel for liking your videos. I don't even comment to any video, but I am doing it here for you to know that I like your videos, so please carry on with all confidence. At times, I find that your videos can be valuable even to well seasoned photographers. There are some settings in the camera, which usually even seasoned photographers don't pay much attention to, but are important to know. There are many so called photographers on UA-cam who confidently talk about various photography subjects, but I often find them wrong. Just for an example, recently I encountered a video of a UA-camr, who said that colours & saturation make a difference when converting a colour photo into monochrome. While one can selectively change tonality, because information saved in the system knows what was the original colour when the shot was taken, but it's only colour value that matters, in the sense he was talking about it. This was just one example. More than 95% of photographers who make UA-cam videos talk mostly either surfacial things, or just non sense.
I had that same problem (using the dpad up button) with the rgb histogram showing up when I wanted to view the image full screen on XT-3. I must have hit the disp/back button by mistake. Thanks for your helpful video.
Chris, thanks so much for this! I’ve been driving myself mad with this for the last week…couldn’t work out why the screen kept changing. Thought either the camera or operator were faulty😂

PS. Fuji REALLY should have that "OK....Next" message read "No Card...NEXT" IMO. Definitely appreciate the clarification on the two different ways to change the display! I hadn't spent the time to fully figure it out, just kind of using the buttons and getting by well enough.
Many thanks from United Kingdom. this has been a great help. Very best wishes.

Hello Chris, thank you for this video, as always very useful! I discovered the use of the upper "D-Pad" button only a few weeks ago.
I find the ability to see where the focus point is very useful.

Enjoyed this video . Can you have a video on shooting into bright light. This is a problem I have when traveling and I can not always deal with.
Just bought the X-S20 and your videos have been by far among the most useful. Used your guide to the X-T5 to help me set it up. Any chance of a dedicated guide to the X-S20 video?

Hello from Finland! Thank you for all you do for Fuji lovers 🎉
Here is some question: my XT-5 got a bug, or something.
Thank you for doing what you do!

You are the best!
I learnt something
I love their products, but couple of things are just not intuitive at all with Fujifilm.
Hello! Can I just ask, what are the film simulations used for and why doesn't it show on Lightroom when viewing the raw file. For example, I took a b&w shot but when I opened the .RAF in Lightroom, it showed as a normal colored frame.
It would. It’s a raw file. Camera settings are only applied to JPEGs.
@@kevintallant3922 thanks!

IDK, I Wasn't confused by this. A bit strange but not more than.

Really? No he didn’t and this is the first I’ve heard about it. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll check it out!
@@pal2tech it’s around the 7 minute mark.
I am the 999th liker! Love your videos!!!
please stop throwing the gear around…
HELLO !!!! SEI G R A N D E E E E E E E E E E E E ...
I wish there could be a preview mode that could only show the _highlights_ and not the RGB which covers most of the screen :/
And thanks for the new video as always :)
There's "Live view highlight alert" if you just want to see a warning when highlights are clipping. Is that what you mean?
the best
Thank you, Chris for sharing this. 🎉
Wow. Who knew? Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your honesty, integrity, passion & knowledge with all of us Chris. Best wishes for you & your family.❤
Thank You!
Hello! In the recent past you recommended this light “Aputure Light Storm LS C120D I| LED” but this model is no
Longer available, which light today should replace it?
Tks Chris - love your energy (it's transferable) and the bounty of education that you have provided me on my Fuji cameras & photography.
