This has to be one of the best YT channels for Fuji and cameras in general. This guy is providing information I don't see any other channel offer, and I've watched a ton of them. On top of that he's also very entertaining.
Chris and this channel is the reason I went back to the shop and re-bought a Fuji I had returned because I thought it was confusing! I now can’t imagine using anything other than a Fuji and have tried many camera brands. I finally found my camera brand and my love of photography has increased so much. Thank you
Chris, I'm only watching this video today, January 10, 2025. It's brilliant, sparkling, pleasant, instructive ... I couldn't have asked for better. Please keep doing this job, this encourages me not only to be a better photographer, but also to be a better person! Greetings from Switzerland!
I have so much appreciation for this video. Having used Fujifilm for about 18 months, I found many tips and ideas here that were either new to me or ones I had forgotten. The Pal2Tech videos are not only highly informative but also very entertaining. This channel is my go-to resource for all things Fujifilm. Keep up the excellent work!
I also recommend turning down noise reduction to the lowest because the noise in Fuji cameras looks much better than the muddy noise reduction. Sometimes even ISO 12.800 can look very good with the noise, just like an analoge photo.
Long-time subscriber, first-time commentor. Just wanted to say this was incredibly well communicated and captivating. Been shooting over 15 years but have been a part of the fuji ecosystem merely 3 years -- there are quite a few nuances in the fuji settings and I found the information you gave to be really useful. Thank you!
Your videos have such a nice and nuanced flow to them that's invaluable to beginners and more experienced photographers. I'm a rather experienced photographer and still learned something today, thank you for that!
I really enjoyed that you came back to that image, I was so intrigued. And - exactl to your point - me as a viewer didn't even notice your perceived "technical/artistic" issues with the photo, I was utterly captured by the story in it.

Hi There, I’ve just updated from my Nikon D90 which I’ve had for a while. After a lot of research and with a budget in mind I purchased a Fujifilm XT-2 in beautiful condition with a shutter count of 5000. I also purchased a Sigma 56mm 1.4 lens. At nearly 70 I’m looking forward to many years of taking pictures with it. You’re my number one stop to go to for information and help. Thankyou for your amazing tutorials. Regards Peter. Great video. NB: I have experimented a lot with SAINT ISO--works great but be aware that since you are essentially in manual exposure mode, if you are shooting where "preview exposure in manual mode" is off (which is often, particularly when shooting flash), if you exceed iso capabilities at either end, the shots will be over or underexposed but not look that way in the view finder. You can tell in advance because the exposure meter in the VF will show + or - values. This was truly confusing until I realized what was going on. My advice is to make sure that, when SAINT ISO is used, "preview exposure in manual mode" is "on"...or watch the exposure meter carefully in the VF. Thanks again for all of the great videos, Chris.
I am so happy that I recently got the XS20 and discovered your channel. There is plenty of useful information, but mostly I appreciate your mood and passion. Thank you
I bought my 1st dslr camera in 2016 and still find my photos awful ! you can't imagine how I really enjoy watching your videos as you make photography as simple as a piece of cake .. however I hope you can explain more on artistically bad photos and how can we fix it .. Thanks so much

Just discovered this channel and I absolutely love your videos! They are both educational, informative and engaging at the same time! I will be recommending your channel to my friends who are new to photography
Well done Chris. I've been shooting with Nikon for years, however I have a x100v, so reviewing the different nuances of the Fuji system was well timed for me. Thank you so much.
Awesome tips, thank you very much! I've got Fujifilm camera recently and I'm learning to improve my skills. Your videos are really interesting and useful. And they convey a very uplifting mood also 🙃.
Shutter speeds for freezing motion, sone examples: portrait - 1/90 second, waling subject: 1/160, running: 1/320, car driving at normal speed: 1/512, water droplet:1/1200, bird in flight: 1/1600 and faster depending on species and distance to bird
Brilliant! This is great for beginners, and a good affirmation for more experienced photographers. I use Olympus, and sometimes Fuji, but this inspires me more towards my Fuji XT4, which I need to use more (and need to get a couple more lenses for).
Prefix! This was a comment I left on another channel, but I think relevant for a video! Explain how DF! This was on your Brk focus stacking lens! I also have to comment on the latter part of video, when you start to adjust the aperture, the old rule of thumb, is that the smaller the aperture f32 f22 the greater the depth of Field, however this dos depend on the Lens size, so wide lens the sweet spot will be different as will the softness at the edges, I remember 50 plus years ago learning* how to photograph a wild animal at the zoo using depth of field to remove the bars and mesh of the wires as it made them disappear, something that I have seen on any UA-cam and is very effective if you get the right pose!
Wow, english is not my native language. I really like how you explain all your topics. I am a new member of your channel. Thanks a lot. Nicolas, Quebec city Canada.
Thanks Chris! Saint ISO, nice. I've been shooting this way since I found your video 1.5 years ago but, missed to let it run all the way up to 128000, Im set 6400. In any case this style did just what you say. Increased my keepers. Just removing ISO helps master the other settings.
Thanks for the interesting discussion. If you get the chance could you give a quick long term review of the premium X-T5 cage you have. Wondering if you managed to get that fancy shutter button extra working correctly, and does the cage finish and leather handle last with ware? I am still thinking about one of these if they are still available, but was originally put off by some peoples negative comments
Thank you for sharing these tips. I like the part of artistic vision. Sometimes I just want to take pic of beautiful view during sightseeing rather than focus on one object. Could you share how to take a nice pic when you are during sightseen? Thanks.
Thank you for the video! Even though I have watched almost all of your videos I still found interesting and useful information! Also curious about the story from the Baikal! My relatives live there :)
A small hint: try using a tripot when you can. IBIS is good but in my experience with Fuij, you will always get a slightly lower sharpness with IBIS on. And of course, switch it off when using a tripod.
I was pulling (what remains of) my hair out trying to get the Auto ISO to work on my X-T3 and it just wouldn't work even though I had the ISO dial on A. Apparently if you have either front or rear command dials set to ISO control, you need to scroll them all the way up before they turn to "ISO Auto 1".
I know its random but have you try the new Sirui Sniper lenses for Fujifilm? Would love to see how they performed against the viltrox😃. Great content as always Chris👍👍
Thanks, Chris. You are the guru of Fujifilm! I love your videos and they keep me inspired. However, I am falling out of love with Fuji. Since my upgrade from XT3 to XT5, I have had endless issues which I can’t seem to solve. Yes, I keep up with the firmware. Sometimes my pictures have artefacts and the focus is soft throughout. I didn’t have the issues with the XT3. I have asked various people at Fuji and they have suggested everything from changing the compression to the IBIS to NR. These issues only happen some of the time and it is hugely frustrating. I know the focus is an issue but I don’t want to give up. I have used Fuji since the XT10 but I am running out of patience. Any suggestions?
Hey, could you tell me if there is anyway (Im on the Fuji XT4) to set custom settings to the in MF/AF so that when I switch from Single (AF) to Continuous (AF) the settings that you have recommended switch also instead of having to manually change the likes of the AF mode and the focus area size each time I move from single to continuous? tia

Chris, thank you for great video. Is it somehow possible to, when face detection is on, to have manual exposure and only to focus on the face? I dont like how camera exposes when eye detection is on.
Would you recommend using eye/face AF for weddings and portraits? The downside is that photometry settings are not available and sometimes the exposure is too bright in certain areas of the image, especially the sky, so I'm wondering if there is a solution.
Shoting still subject handheld, go the other way, go with slow shutter you can, to the very limit. To give it as much exposure you can. But shoot more photos. Many of them will be bad, but those that nailed it, will be amazing.
Hi Chris. Another great informative video. Going back through your older videos I was unable to find one on the X100V or any of the X Pro series. If you have any could you please send me a link. Desperate to hear your thoughts and guidance for these Fuji cameras. Best regards Paul
I love this channel and the St. ISO advice, but, after following the settings advice, my XT3 isn't showing what ISO the camera is choosing in the viewfinder when half pressing the shutter. It shows and remains showing 3200..all the time. A setting I've inadvertently set? I also see my XT3 has no option for photometry in the camera settings to choose center weighted etc. Any advice?
