Its funny that this machine has been out for a while and they still have not yet incorporated a spring into the sliding lever.

Agreed... or make the primer tube fit better without wobbling around so bad.

I have the Hornady Primer Vibra Tube filler. This works once I watched a video on the slant when holding it for feeding the primers. I also had to take a knife and gently go around the hole edge. A slight piece of plastic around edge was holding primers up, works great now. Great to load several tubes when doing a reloading session. I would suggest taking out the batteries when not in use. I had to replace the battery connectors due to acid leakage. Hornady was great on helping to avoid buying an entire new unit. Good video for reloading process.

I've had a Vibraprime for at least 8-10 years. It it great after a few tweaks.

For $700 they could make the primer tube fit more solidly and have a spring of some sort to load the next primer. Those two things are why I went with the Derraco Engineering poorman priming system

Like you have the Lee Bench primer, ok but inconsistent as you say, and can be finicky.
Love the old RCBS hand primer, not the one with the tray which I dislike, but uses the primer strips, now sadly discontinued, which is really irritating considering the accessories I had to buy with it, including primers loaded on strips. Learned about it from Glen Zediker’s book, and wish I had bought two of them, because once they break then all the strips and strip loader I paid a lot for are useless. Lee hand primer was more finicky and more hand tiring, never tried the Sinclair. I don't use press priming on my Coax, just seems too slow.
I load only pistol on a Dillon, and to me their on press priming is excellent, and have a hard time seeing how its much different than the primal rights unit?
For PRS not loaded on a Dillon, i agree that the Primal Rights would be great, but like the AMP annealer it's just hard to justify. Still, it’s clearly superior for rifle rounds, so since I don’t use the Dillon for those I can see one in my future.
You’ve clearly reached the apex in your shop; I use a much slower Wilson / Sinclair micrometer trimmer (with drill attachment), an EP flame annealer, a Redding BR powder measure, a balance beam and Dillon electronic scales, a manual trickler, everything slower than what you have going. I thought it I ever got a Turret press it would be the Redding T7, but after seeing the versatility and precision of that 419 I’m not so sure.
Appreciate this series, thank you. 👍
P.S. I had no idea that FA vibra prime would fill Dillon primer tubes? The Dillon unit is super expensive, so I’m all over this, thanks!

I have a CPS. What you fail to include here is that no matter how accurate and consistent a priming tool is, you will have to deal with "Rim Thickness". I have developed somtehing that eliminates this for the CPS and now all my primer seating depths are within .0005. Thtats five ten thousandths!

Do you aim for a certain amount of crush on the primer or just simply for 2 thou under flush?

There are bench rest or FClass guys who will test different crushes. I just want consistency. so I like it under flush, so 2 thou seems to be a good way to go.

The CPS is way too expensive for such a simple task with adjustment function. If it's a $200 device, sure, why not. But for something almost $700, unless I have a weak grip, I would use the money on something which could either contribute more on accuracy or save time/effort. The cheaper version, Frankford Arsenal one, the next level up is the 21st century hand priming tool. Measure and sorting the primer is probably more useful than only getting consistent base of the primer to primer hole distance(assuming the primer pocket depth is consistent).

I disagree. I think it is worth every dime. Great piece of gear. But spend your money where you want to. I absolutely HATE hand primers. Will never use one again.

I have been holding up on it due to a change I had made to my powder charge system that I wanted to give enough time to. It will come soon.
