Little review on a simple product that does most everything I need it to. Great design and well made. No need for me to design a product when someone else already has!

Dope Cards and Managing your Target Data in a Match

This may be pretty beginner for most people, but I've been asked a lot about it. There are a few ways to do it, but I show the way I handle it. This isn't about how you get your data, but about how you present that data during a stage. #reloading #6BR #rifle #competitiveshooting #brass #precisionrifle #precisionrifleseries #prs #nrl #rimfire #riflematch #dopecard

Arca Wrench for the Area 419 Railchanger X
Переглядів 641Рік тому
This is a tool that helps me use my favorite bag/plate combination and what I use on almost every prop stage. It is a wrench to turn the knob on the Railchanger X a little tighter than I can with my hands. Maybe I have weak grip strength, but this thing comes in really handy for me. I hope it does for you as well. precisonmatchgear.com

9. Priming Brass: Consistency is key.
Question: Why do the instructions for my RCBS Case Lube pad say the following: "DO NOT lubricate shoulders of cases"? The methods in this video would apply lube to the shoulders. (Maybe RCBS is concerned about folks putting too much lube on the shoulders, I don't know.)
Great product and video!
I’ve looked into how abrasive graphite is. In machining graphite wears tooling down quickly and diamond tools are recommended, Knowing that what effect does this have on the barrel ? Increased wear and to what extent ?
Zero press is the best. Have you tried Area 419s sizing dies?
For $700 they could make the primer tube fit more solidly and have a spring of some sort to load the next primer. Those two things are why I went with the Derraco Engineering poorman priming system
Smart idea to put the lock rings on so the depth stays setup. I need to do that to mine. Thanks
Love Copper Star Precision channel and this drill. 👍👍
This is a great drill. I’ve run it a few times and it’s very good practice.
Ordered. Look forward to trying it.
Hey Joel Will it work for lefty’s ?
It doesn't have a left or right, so should work anywhere.
On that MPA. Where does one get one of those custom labels to fit in that part of the chassis. I’m speaking on you Bougie AF part
The A&D HR100A has an extra decimal on the scale, allowing for sub-kernel accuracy - it tightens up you SD even further. Works great with the Autotricker V3, with the various Area419 add-ons. 😊
Firmware Version 3.1 address the issue of Varget, and the pulse system is significantly improved.
This’ll be a great dry fire drill. 👍👍
💪🏼
What a great video. I just got a ST. Everything you described is a 100% correct
Its funny that this machine has been out for a while and they still have not yet incorporated a spring into the sliding lever.
Agreed... or make the primer tube fit better without wobbling around so bad.
What’s the color name?
That was a very cursory overview. Do you lube? If so, with what? Also if so, is it cleaned off or left to assist with bullet seating?
You should watch the other videos in the series.
What drawbacks are experienced if you don’t clean brass and skip this step altogether, and just manually clean primer pockets?
I have done the pockets by hand. It is tedious. I think the main brass being clean is important, but maybe we go too far in cleaning sometimes. I know some people that just wipe it off to get the heavy stuff off and they are good. I think that carbon buildup could be an issue for them over time.
I have seen tumbling machine parts or rusty bolts using perlite or vermiculite, would that be a good alternative or would it be too aggressive or could it shorten the tumble time?
Don't know. I've never tried them. Would be interesting to see.
I’m new to all this. Love your videos, especially highlighting process step nuances and decisions behind which equipment works better and identifying problems or the way equipment works. Something I don’t really get from all the other videos that are marketing for something you’ll ultimately either not be fully happy but have to compromise and nobody wants to do expensive purchase experiments. Thankyou.
Great video. your gun is definitely "Bougie AF". =) Love the AO flag.
Thanks. The Bougie thing was bestowed on me by a friend. I don't deny it.
@AnarchyOutdoorsOfficial any plans for a centerfire version? If I order these from europe, how can I add a few replacement ”flags” to the order for when I inevitably will rip it out?
Very close to having it ready.
Hello! Please tell me what kind of paper target did you use on the wall? I really like it and want to print . Also what size of paper you use? A4? A3?
+1 for target card video
Thanks Joe! I just ordered the fine point sharpies. I'm always losing the caps.
Which model of Sharpie are you using to write on the turret?
Hey Jacob! It is the clickable ones in Ultra Fine Point. Probably won't work on that crappy Tangent though. 🤣
@@precisionmatchtimer I only have a Walls Rifle with a Tangent, but I make due with my equipment limitations. Lol I was on the Sharpie website, but it appeared to be a permanent and I wanted to make sure it would remove as easily as yours. I can’t ruin my sticker, when I ordered the turret sticker, my bank turned my card off because it was purchased from Canada. I’m really enjoying the content.
@@JacobTerherst Yup. Permanent. But permanent just means it comes off with alcohol. You can easily remove sharpie from most things with some alcohol. See you soon!
Could you explaining how I should correct for wind? Assuming my initial dialing is 0, and wind is from 9 o'clock. Aim at the left edge of the target but the bullet goes to the right side of the 0.5mil target. In this case, should I change to the next wind bracket (0.3mil) or skip the next one and choose an even higher one (0.6mil)? After moving to the new wind bracket, should we still aim at the edge of the target or the center of the target? Thank you
Wind is a whole other complex subject. But in general, if you are holding left edge on a .5 mil target you are holding .25. If you miss to the right you should measure where it landed by putting your reticle back where you were aimed for the shot. Measure where it landed and put that spot in the middle of the target. If running a troopline, you would look at your wind calls and use whatver column that lined up to be in. This is the basic concept. I am no wind guru and struggle with it at times. Take a class if you really want to understand it better. I have taken a few and learn something every time.
Great info ill be going to my first nrl22 match soon I need all the help I can get I may just go watch this month ive never been
Good looking rigs 💪
Good morning, Joe. Great video. Great information. I appreciate your sharing your DOPE card techniques. I would be interested in your card holders if you decide to sell them.
Hey Joe, where did you get your forward assist grip that is mounted to the left side of your foreend. I have been looking for something like that but haven't had any luck.
That is the Sikes Clutch. GA Precision or Manners usually sells them.
@@precisionmatchtimer thank you.
Why you don’t use the mandrel in one step in your sizing die?
There was no mandrel for my sizing die at the time. They have come out with one though and I am using it now.
The wieghted feeling will grow on you as you use it. We added the wieght after a lot of feed back. The wieghts can be removed. If you do a military reloaded and rip the mag flag out it will break the flag. Better to break the flag vs hurting your rifle. We will sell replacement flags.
Y'all did a great job. As long as you are not tearing at the mag, I think you will know it is engaged and disengage it. Like everything we do, it becomes second nature after doing it a while. The weights to me are neither here or there. But I understand some people want them.
@@precisionmatchtimer I will send you one with out the weights and you can compare them. We debated for a while on it and maybe we need to offer both.
@@precisionmatchtimer the latest version is on its way.
Thanks for the review. Ordered one on Sunday and the Anarchy Outdoors guys got it out Monday.
I bet you will love it.
Awesome review, I am glad you like the Mag Flag. A lot of work and revisions went into it.
Can this do the count down thru ur ear pro?
If your ear pro has Bluetooth, yes, I do it for center fire matches all the time.
Joe good course of fire. I’ll be shooting it at the end of the month. It was a pleasure meeting you at nationals and can’t wait to go back down there to cool acres for the X match.
What are you running for a plate bag setup? Looks like it’s working well for you. I could use something like this.
It is the Area 419 Railchanger X with a Shmedium AG bag.
Holds on the pyramid&barrel!!? Come on! YOU'RE MR.DIAL! Great stuff Joe, we'll see how it goes at PGC tomorrow.
Gotta have all the tools! I do prefer to dial when possible. That stage is pretty quick. See you soon!
Great job as always Mr Joe
Procedural on franklins. Shot the ladder target once…
I saw that during editing. One of the pitfalls of targets so close together. I actually shot a smaller target, too!
Yep! Was a squad or two behind you at nationals and fun to watch you there!
Your singing my song! No mind games and targets big small.
Thanks Joe. Easton and I really enjoyed our time with our squad. We also really enjoyed practicing option 2 of this COF. Nothing really stood out as trying to trick us. Just very straight forward but challenging enough.
Thank you for this. I really appreciate not having memory games in a shooting match. I prefer that the better shooter wins. Looking forward to shooting this match. Definitely a proper cof, straight forward but in no way easy
This match looks like a lot of fun to shoot. Thank you for designing it!
So the Spigot affects balance that much? I haven’t shot my PMR pro2 yet just put everything together I took it off, guess I’ll be reinstalling it FYI- Gray Ops has their Speed Nuts back in stock hurry before they are gone I grabbed 2 they’re awesome way better then shaft collars
Dear Sir. Whilst your Case Prep, Powder Loading etc. etc. video clips are all informative and really interesting (if only to see what actually is now available for the hand-loaders amongst us to use now) I should be MOST interested to hear from you even roughly how many Thousands of $ you have spent on the amazing, high level (HIGH Cost) tools you purport to use in your total round reloading exercise!? It IS good to see just what exactly is being made available to us these days, but I would think you and others like you are in a very small percentage of all us reloaders where the overall kit expenditure is concerned. As an example I suspect that your beautiful looking, massive grey coloured reloading press costs about as much alone as the Whole of my reloading kit…. I therefore honestly wonder at the real value showing these things to the every day, fellow reloader…. You are not alone though. The UR site has the same ethos where the absolute top-notch equipment is being shown as used throughout. Again, whilst it truly IS interesting, the real honest value for Joe Blogs like myself can be questionable I feel. My opinion only here of course! Kind Regards, Steve.
No doubt. A lot of money. Bjut as the series states, this is for Match Reloading. If you are spending money on attending matches and competing, you end up spending more on your gear. Can you still make some great ammo with less expensive equipment? Of course. It all depends on how exacting you want to get..... And I would rather not count it all up. It might be depressing.
The company that make the gun customer service is not good.
My experience has been the opposite. They are a busy company making complex products. They have always replied to me quickly and taken care of any minor issues. I feel they are a great business to deal with.
Good luck on getting it.
I have a CPS. What you fail to include here is that no matter how accurate and consistent a priming tool is, you will have to deal with "Rim Thickness". I have developed somtehing that eliminates this for the CPS and now all my primer seating depths are within .0005. Thtats five ten thousandths!
well.... tell us.
