the exact same thing happened to me as in this video. found a little budgie like this in the park here in the uk. when I first got home he was so hungry he would cling onto me and even fly onto my head I guess to get my attention for food. who knows how long he was out there. but after he was fed and we went out and brought him a cage, he wanted nothing to do with us😂 he's warmed up to us now, not as touchy feely as the little guy in the video tho, he likes his space!!

@@mariana2046 Oh lord yes! They do the same thing with reptiles too. Possibly rodents I’m not sure. People will get a bird because they think they are easy pets or a cute conversation piece for guests then realize there’s a lot of work to them and they make noise and will abandon them. Thankfully most get sent to shelters but plenty probably get released into the wild 🙁

Modern people are so brainless, silly nature loves who do more damage than good. Okay you concerned paras**es.... the bird got out of his original home, not abandoned. Just abandoned on the title like it was a sort of rescue from a person who was an a-hole and just left his bird out to be lost.. what you should of done is look into it to see if someone was missing the bird so you can confirm if this bird was abandoned or severely lost. this made me sick, the music, the whole joyful rainbow stuff... the little animations showing the animals making little sounds... next thing you know they will have deers and bears playing together and some half witted bubbly person with a blank look talking to the camera of how amazing this garbage is. ... perfect example... you lost the poor bird and imagine someone found it and said your bird was simply abandoned by you.... like animals at the pound called rescues because the person violated a by law and bam... a rescue.... or like when my budgie got out by a stupid mistake and someone probably found her and said.... i found an abandoned bird. someone will look at my comment and be like what a facsist, sexxist, hatefull, ahole.. hahahahahahahaha

I adopted my birb, but if he had had one I would've had it removed right away. there are whole networks online of bird people who help other bird people get their birds back, because they escape just like other pets, but with birds no one else cares. She should've tried posting on bird groups. She said, "well he didn't have a band" as though that means someone abandoned him and that is NOT what that means. a lil guy that friendly was in a very happy household. still relieved she saved him and he's being well cared for again

That bird was fairly young when she first found him, and for a young budgie to be so friendly and trusting, they usually have to be hand-raised from birth. He likely escaped from a breeder. And one more thing... Not all pet budgies have leg bands!! In fact, most don't. I've had 8 of them and only one ever had a band, and I couldn't even read the number on it.

They are great companions. Once my wife and I almost run over a parakeet that flew in front of our car as night was approaching in San Francisco winter, he looked like the one on the video. We stopped and my wife got off the car to only to have the parakeet jump on to her finger!! We took him home and drove around the next day to see if anybody had put up any notices of a missing parakeet; he must've wonder away from his home, he spoke something that sounded like Japanese and Italian! We had a 14 year old Maine Coon cat that could never accept other cat, as hard as we tried, but slowly we introduced the parakeet to our cat and they became best friends and shared great moments together. We named the parakeet Lucky and he had such a huge personality - just wonderful. Both passed away some years ago - we missed them.

She here doesn't say many details, we really don't know IF she tried to find the owner and used the leg band thing as last resort. Weren't flying yet, couldn't tell the gender of them. But they were best of pals they were, preening, feeding eachother. Etc. Anyways, I bought them. Took them home, anyways- sorry for my rant ANYWAYS they didn't have leg bands on. Actually- what was the point of this reply... wait I remember you said your budgies don't have leg bands. Yeah, anyways. Two of my budgies don't have leg bands either.

What a beautiful creature! My inlaws had a lovely little bird for years...we used to keep her when they were away. She was lovely company as we had no baby then, she was talkative and musical. She knew who was coming in by the sound of their car, and had different greetings for everyone!!!

This budgie is very friendly and trusts humans. This is probably someone's beloved pet who escaped by accident. My budgie doesn't have a leg band either but that does not mean anything. Some budgies have leg bands, some don't. It depends on the breeder and where you get the bird. She should at least try to find the original owner. It's great that she saved the sweet budgie, but I'd be devastated if my bird accidentally got out, someone finds and just keeps him.

And as parakeets are fond of their flocks, the bird could be happier with the real owner who propably has parakeets back home, as this one seems to be very well trained as it trusts human. That's a sign of a well kept and loved pet.

I rescue cats in nyc. I just pick them up of the street. Most i get adopted, 2 I've kept. Whenever you live there are little ones living on the streets and in the wild that don't belong there and need your help. You just have to go looking for them.

let me tell you about bird rescues!! most animals waiting for adoption are very friendly because they have lots of socialization in order to become more "adoptable", and even if they're not 100% free, the fees are usually small and go towards helping more animals instead of to someone's pocket. plus, rescues are a thousand times more thankful, it seems like they know what happened.

He is more than likely someone’s pet who got away. A parakeet being found, let alone without a leg band doesn’t mean it was abandoned or intentionally let go. He seems like he was very well cared for by his previous owner being so trusting and comfortable with a strange humane. I’m glad this person found him right away and is going to take care of him. I’m surprised that little parakeet wasn’t already snatched up by a cat. That birdie is very lucky:)
