We did teach our budgie to stay away from the stove and not to jump on hot pans. When we eat, hot pans are on the table and then he just walks around them and he eat with us by standing on the edge of out plate and pick some food from it. Once we had a great laugh because we ate soup so he jumped on the edge of my plate and that was slippery from the soup, so he did made a slide and took a bath in my soup. He was soooo tame, that when he was standing on the table, i could bang both fist on the table and only inches away from him, and instead of being scared, he made himself big and made some noises that would say "you don't scare me!" We got ours from someone who found it, and you can bu them for only 5 dollars, but i wouldn't sell ours not even for a million dollars because they do become a part of the family alright. And we never kept them only at night in their cage, just for their own safety and what they do prefer, but as soon we get up, then the first thing is open the cage and then they were free to fly all around the house until we got to bed, so they had a good life with us.

at our house, we have one budgie named merlin, and we have a connected living room (where his cage is) and kitchen. we have everything in drawers, and keep everything well ventilated and since its a small apartment, we usually get delivery or make microwaved meals. When we do make stuff, we dont need non-stick pans. Again, small apartment, so the most cleaning we do is his cage. (Super messy lil guy!) We have a smaller cage we can easily move around since he has a huge one all to himself. when that happens, he usually comes to my room or my moms. Sadly, my mom has a huge smoking problem, and im trying to get her to stop. We have a balcony, so shes starting to use that. Its not ealthy when you have a kid, sick budgie (he was found, wings clipped, on the streets and we had to take him in, he was already sick), and an old cat in the house at once! So far, weve done a lot and ive noticed shes getting better. we dont use nail polish and i paint in my room or with his cage closed. We think he may have been neglected, he just started to fully warm up to us. He hates water. We respect that. We got him a bath and he made soup out of it. He still knows how to keep himself clean, surprisingly. He still hasnt warmed up to us. He bit me. I still love him. He likes it when i play peekaboo with him or make silly noises. He loves laughter. He tries to laugh too and its the cutest thing. He imitates us a LOT. I would never clip his wings. I saw how miserable he looked when he realized he couldn't fly as much. It was the best feeling ever to see him climb out of his cage, jump up, and glide around it. I cried. Hes gotten so much better!!! We clean his cage every week, and since he LOVES watching us have to get down and clean, he gets very messy. (by cleaning i mean wiping things with water or picking up random crap off the floor.) He finds us struggling very amusing. Once he threw a seed into our wifi router and broke it. If anybody actually read all of this, let me know if theres any tips!
Mine really like when i touch his neck, he seem confortable and makes him relaxed or sleepy, he dont mind if I do it or even if I hold him in my hand, he still stay peacefull and play with my nails or wanting me to pet him. Now I think it depends of their personality too Idk-, are some of them shy, scared, others angry etc, some of them likes to be touched Idk where others no :/
I got 3 budgies. Unfortunately all of them got clipped while at the pet shop. So i bought all the clipped ones and got them a somewhat roomy environment. The cage is large enough but usually i just leave it open as they are our only pets. Day after day i would oversee some shenanigans with the 3 and after about 4 months of ownership, they have their wings fully restored, with no need for prosthetic feathers to boot. They fly wherever they want now.
@@moos5737 exactly! I've got 22 lovebirds, some of them don't like it, others come to my finger and hand, and I love kissing them again and again and telling them how pretty and wonderful they are 😇😉🐦
My mom when she was still living in Serbia had a little cockatiel and it loved being outside and riding on the dog and suprisingly it didnt fly away, and my mom told me that she once accidentally sucked it up in the vacuum since she didnt notice him, and also it once accidentaly stepped on a hot stove and on a hot pot Suprisingly the cockatiel didnt die, but someone stole it off the fence Supposedly it was a city attraction in Knjazevac 😂
Thank you so much I had a few of those problems and never knew but now I know what I was doing wrong with the food bowls and force bath and cleaning cage every day. Thank you!
Petsmart clips bird wings, my mom bought ours from there, currently growing the wings out (we have no animals and someone always has to be WITH the bird when out, so ppl know thats where the bird is)
I seriously don't understand at all why someone would get a PET BIRD and then clip its wings. It's sort of what birds are known for. Perhaps get a cat or dog if you want a pet that can't fly...?
Unfortunately sometimes you cannot avoid catching a budgie. My new budgie wasn't tame and I had to go to the vet and catch the poor bird with my hands. That was a big shock for him and he never got tame.

Now I think it depends of their personality too Idk-, are some of them shy, scared, others angry etc, some of them likes to be touched Idk where others no :/
Thank you so much for posting this video I could have done these things to my budgie:(😊
Everyone please be kind to budgies and even if you’ve unknowingly hurt them before I promise it’s never too late to learn and be kinder to them!!
They fly wherever they want now.

i have 2 budgies and i hold both of them, one likes it alot the other one doesnt mind it either. it's just the way you bring them up
Some birds are ok woth it, and you can train them to hold them, but pleade never hold your budgie if they dont want it
@@moos5737 exactly! I've got 22 lovebirds, some of them don't like it, others come to my finger and hand, and I love kissing them again and again and telling them how pretty and wonderful they are 😇😉🐦
You are the best bird owner in the world😊😊
Yes
Very nice video!I hope that all care our budgies correctly.
My mom when she was still living in Serbia had a little cockatiel and it loved being outside and riding on the dog and suprisingly it didnt fly away, and my mom told me that she once accidentally sucked it up in the vacuum since she didnt notice him, and also it once accidentaly stepped on a hot stove and on a hot pot
Suprisingly the cockatiel didnt die, but someone stole it off the fence
Supposedly it was a city attraction in Knjazevac 😂
Thank you so much I had a few of those problems and never knew but now I know what I was doing wrong with the food bowls and force bath and cleaning cage every day. Thank you!
Your budgie is so cute and I am so happy because you take care of your budgie
Petsmart clips bird wings, my mom bought ours from there, currently growing the wings out (we have no animals and someone always has to be WITH the bird when out, so ppl know thats where the bird is)
I got my birds from pet smart. Their wings weren’t clipped. Maybe it’s just some pet smarts
i bought a bird from Petsmart too. It is harder to train them because they feel threatened.
I seriously don't understand at all why someone would get a PET BIRD and then clip its wings. It's sort of what birds are known for. Perhaps get a cat or dog if you want a pet that can't fly...?
Actually some people clip there wings to make there flying more beutiful but sometimes it might fail to do it😅
my mom dosent let me get a cat and I'm not rlly a dog person either but she lets me get a bird and im getting one😄
Always good know! This tips are very important to take good care of our friends🐦❤
Unfortunately sometimes you cannot avoid catching a budgie. My new budgie wasn't tame and I had to go to the vet and catch the poor bird with my hands. That was a big shock for him and he never got tame.
Thanks for information and have budgie the white one you showed in last😁
Great tips! :)
