I have tried 16l amd 17g. Both are great but for me the 17 performance on a different level. Its a bit more comfortable and lively but withe the same consistency as the 16L.
Confidential is like playing with steel cable strung in your racquet. Super stiff, doesn't bend etc which is why its predictable and doesn't lose much tension. Great if you have a modern heavy topspin game, and hit 99% of your strokes perfectly every time, never being late on the ball, never hitting out of the sweetspot, don't have a stiff racquet etc. For everyone else....forget about it as it will just shred your arm over time and destroy your tendons.
Been using Confidential 17g in my Blade v2 for awhile now, and I love it for the control and predictability while in tension. Once it gets past a certain point, it starts to become unpredictable. But until it gets that point, its so good. As an aggressive baseliner with a flatter game, but will mix it up with varying levels of spin, this was the one that really lets me dial in the exact amount of spin in every shot. Its really stiff though, expect some pain the next day if you are hitting these strings really hard for sets.
I'm a 3.5 and I use a full bed of this in a wilson blade 100 v7. I use the 18 gauge to help with spin. What I love about this string is that my rally ball never goes long which lets me use full strokes and gives me confidence to attempt to hit winners , which at 3.5 ya know how that can go but I actually can reliably hit winners with this string. Compared to a hyper g, it's less bite but so much more predictable. With the hyper g I'd hit long for no reason sometimes.
Hey MP tennis! Question for you if you know. I currently play head Lynx tour and wonder what your thoughts are on it compared to confidential. I was listening to your video and you mentioned you tried head lynx tour. Thanks
I tried Confidential but it didn't work for me. Maybe have been a bad string job but I haven't had a chance to try it again. Currently using RPM Blast 17g in the mains @ 53lbs and and Luxilon 4G Desert Bronze in the crosses @ 51lbs in my Auxetic Extreme Tour. I've always liked Hyper G but haven't put them in this racket yet. I've always liked Hyper G Soft in all my Pure Aeros and Pure Strike.
That‘s what I call coincidence 😂 just looked for reviews on Confidential yesterday and watched Harry‘s videos again. How do you compare the Confidential to the Grapplesnake M8 and Toursniper? I tried the Yonex Polytour Strike in my Extreme Tour 360+ and loved it. Wonder how it compares to that one as well 🤔 Greetings from Germany!
@@scenicstreetsno I haven’t tried it myself. I fell in love with Toroline K-Pro on my VC95 and haven’t bothered trying many other strings on it. I did really like Confidential in my Gravity Pro though
having just bought a coil of the confidential and tested lynx tour before (the black color): why did you not like lynx tour? I find lynx tour pockets the ball better, it has also a predictable launch angle, a waay longer durability and overall a bit more comfortable for me. But i still went with solico because it feels great as well; the question is whether you ever compared these two side to side, fresh as well as after maybe a week or 2? After i broke the Lynx tour and went back to the solinco string, i found that there is less spin for me, the ball was sailing out and i had to do a lot more wrist action to bring it back in court....curious what your thoughts were
@dennisxjapan1626 didn't think about it adding swing weight, it makes complete sense... but nobody mentioned this so far, did you test this on your own?
@dennisxjapan1626 this explains a lot, thanks. No reviewer mentioned that and it makes complete sense. Do you test sw altering of strings often? If I don't have a sw measuring machine, can I just take the weight of the string and sort of compute the difference? So many questions
In season I have a fresh racquet for every single match. I would say max a week if we had a few days off. Off season is a different story. I’ll play with the string longer.
I bought a confidential 17 gauge coil for my extreme tour auxetic but I broke it after 4 hours. Do you think that with the 16 gauge they would withstand much more tension?
I don't wanna be THAT guy who recommends another string, especially when confidential is your favorite...but... have you tried Yonex Poly Tour Spin? It is very similar to Solinco Confidential but I think it played a little better in all aspects just by a little.
Loved it in 16g 48lbs in my blade 98 v7. Coming from volkl cyclone tour that becomes erratic, I appreciate the precision of this string.
Confidential is the only string I use. I absolutely love it. Super durable too.
It really is!

I agree. Unless you string it at really low tensions, it's a really stiff string on the arm.
I have sensitive elbow and use confidential 1.25 at 52/50 lbs on my extreme tour auxetic and its awsome, no pain any more
If its too stiff just use the 1.20 gauge or put a soft poly in the crosses...
Right, its not ultra stiff@@viniciusbarbosa1815
you have to have proper loose technique with this string.

is power level much different?
@@akbarberlian Yeah I think hyper g is more powerful. Confidential is more dead which I like, because of the control

great coverage. how does this compare with the grapplesnake strings that you really liked too?
I think it plays most like m8 imo.
What’s your tension in lbs for this string in your radical?
50lbs

Great channel man. In your experience, how do the different gauges of this string play/feel?
For confidential I only ever played with 16 and 16L so they were pretty close.
Should I do confidential on the main or cross
Excellent! 💪💯🙋♂️🙏
Did you also experiment with Tour Bite? If so, why Confidential over Tour Bite?
Also, amazing rally at 5:51.
I liked it just more overall. More predictable.
Did you ever try Solinco revolution?
What gauge and tension you are using on your racquets?
16 @ 50lbs
Is this string best for a full bed or use other string with it
would it play well with diadem elevate 98 16x20? what tension?
Would it play well with the new vcore 95? What tension?
Yes…. Probably looser since it’s a 95 (47-51 maybe)
I’ve seen in some reviews of the Vcore 95 that it doesn’t go well with Confidential (too muted and underpowered together)
@@glademaster Interested to know if you tried the confidential on the VC95 and how you found it?

Has anyone tried it as a hybrid? I think this string would be too stiff for me as a full bed.
Yeah, try it with the soft Poly Tour Pro yellow in the crosses. A good combination
I don't think this string would work well in a hybrid because it's shaped
How often are you restringing your racquet even when the strings dont break?

what tension ? / string pattern ?

I’d try 16 but then if you keep breaking try a more durable string….
What gauge do you use?
How’s it on the wrist
No issues here
Recommend tension?
I don't wanna be THAT guy who recommends another string, especially when confidential is your favorite...but... have you tried Yonex Poly Tour Spin? It is very similar to Solinco Confidential but I think it played a little better in all aspects just by a little.
How long do u think the average poly lasts in the racket before it becomes dead and loses tension etc
Depends on level of player…. Because a college player poly is gonna die quicker than a club players due to the constant hard hits.
Do me a favour and test the best solinco string ever made. Tour byte soft :)
Solinco Tour Bite best spin string for intermediate level players. RPM Blast is for advanced players with full ultra fast swing speeds.
