Thank you so much ,this is so kind of you .
Very useful ❤❤❤
Around 2005-2007 I worked as a salesperson in Germany. On one of my trips I was in a hotel, zapping through channels before going to bed. I clicked on WDR exactly and saw Esbjorn Svensson Trio, which I had not heard of. Rather than going to sleep, I stayed up watching their entire concert. It was one of the best jazz bands ever and I will always regret not having caught them live. RIP Esbjorn Svensson.
Heartbreaking. Even after 10 years...
R.I.P. dear Esbjörn . . . :-(
I know this video was uploaded so very long ago - I have never been a UA-cam user perse, hence only watching this now. I've always love Jazz - especially Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett and many others - and E.S.T. immediately got under my skin in 2007. I have to fly a lot, and I was heading to Copenhagen from Cape Town and I try and use the time on flights to catch up on music and movies. And that's when I discovered the Esbjorn Svensson Trio and the genius that each of the musicians are and how beautifully they combine to make absolute magic. Music that immediately penetrates you on so many levels. Upon landing in London I was reading a newspaper and it happened to contain a tribute to Esbjorn beautifully, and movingly written by Jamie Cullum (if my memory serves me). I had some time to kill and went and bought my first iPod and all the EST CD's I could find in the airport and uploaded them then and there whilst waiting for my connecting flight. Most wouldnt believe this either, but I used to listen the Live in Hamburg whilst doing my long indoor training sessions for my first IRONMAN. It is so sad that his family (his young boys at the time) and his family and the world lost this musical master so soon. I regret never being able to watching and the trio live. But fortunately have your video
It makes me really happy to hear your story, specially the training for the Iroman listening to EST. I'm so happy that this video is online, though I just uploaded it, music must be shared and your comment just confirms me that.
Still goose bumps in 2020...immortal
You would love Peter Erskine with John Taylor and Palle Danielsson: 'To Know One' on ECM records.
A masterpiece! Thank you Esbjorn for this wonderful Gift you gave to us ...and then you left
Χαιρετισμούς από τη Σκανδιναβία. ua-cam.com/video/xgxbu5Us8fw/v-deo.html
@@plathplath thank you Dominique.
@@plathplath Η Σκανδιναβία; κι εγω!
Out of this world!
This video is a jewell. My god, what a deal of perfection and purity is on their sound. The second theme: Behind the Yashmak, is a double bass party of pleasure. So bad destiny stoped this project, I would have keep freezing my ears on the horns to let this warm streaming play, inside me.
How did destiny stop it? So beautiful= want more
@@sarahforeman1450 Oh. You didn't know?
Though he did leave the richest legacy of more or less any composer in music history.
WDR's productions are outstanding!!! Sound quality is excellent so thumbs up for the sound engineers !!!
I was lucky to hear EST a few times live. Then... he died. So sad. Only 44 years old. Too soon.
The music will always be with us.
Just 1st time here hearing this. 61 years listening & playing. As the saying goes.."just when you thought you heard it all....". My 60 years means nothing here other than how I can "get this" after everything else that went before. Musically & spiritually - these guys are new born Gods. Nothing Less. imo You can't get pass this - it is at the pinnacle of everything. Thank You for this.
7000bass so true..
heartwarming :) i agree very much.
Yes, very specific style .. a joy to witness such musik
Absolutely agree
exact same words here; I'm 50
The first time I heard them was when their CD 'From Gagarin's Point of View' was playing in HMV, London. I bought it instantly and subsequently saw them twice. Knockout both times - there was a real chemistry between the players that you seldom find.
The sound of melodies, just like fresh air. I'm just discovering his music, love it.
EST where....and are.....my absolute favorites....What a tight as a trio. Wonderful Wonderful music !
Thanks for sharing !!!
Tack. ❤️🙏
I've clicked through so many videos, through so many incredible, weird ambient landscapes... I feel like I'm going on a train trip, seeing a succession of crazy, never-before-seen scenes from history, important, weird musics through the window as I pass... there's so much to explore. So many places to alight and dwell in the ambiences that are on offer. This stop, in particular, is brilliant 🕊
Esbjörn Svensson's music is still alive. ua-cam.com/video/xgxbu5Us8fw/v-deo.html
One of my favorite performances of “serenade for the renegade”
It just doesn't get any better than this. Ever.
Absolutely marvelous and outstanding.
Mr. Svenson you shouldn't have scoubadiving.
All of your funs, including me, miss you and your talent

Incredible! such depth!
Hey, KizCat just wanted to let you know this clip was what got me interested in Jazz music. Thank you for the new adventure!
Thank you, pere1109. This is unique, priceless. And what a perfect sound and picture quality.
This is simply superb!
🇩🇰
thats healing. endless, efcharisto! music and you!
This is a great example of the genius he was, when I listen to Chick Corea, or the hoards of American jazz pianist who overplay and reach way outside the box for the sake of being hip, this is much easier to understand and leaves me relaxed instead of all tied up in knots because of all the dissonance.
Well said, James! I was feeling that way, but you put it into words!
That is such an accurate description of how I feel about the jazz scene - thank you!
i am listening them again again.. now repeating the last part.. glad they performed so wonderful music...
Thanx for your upload I appreciate EST ever:-)
Spunky Sprawl - just wow

Jazz is my go to , to mellow out and unwind :)
absolutely outstanding music
love all of there music, the unity of this band is amazing. spunky sprawl is my favorite, 50:00 makes me smile every time I listen to it here.
It reminds me somehow of Vince Guaraldi. 💕
'I don't wanna go to ordinary jazz club.' Legend, haha
The part from 29:13 must be among the most moving and touching thing I've ever heard, goes straight to your heart...
What is the song name? I didn't found anywhere

Thanks so much for the upload. I shamefully admit that, until I came across your video, I had never actually listened to Mr. Svensson's music. Let me just say, wow... just, wow. His music has found its way into the depths of my soul. Such a master. Very disappointed to see that he has passed. The same thing (essentially) happened with tenor player Michael Brecker- I discovered his music, fell in love with it, and then not even a month later, BAM. Gone.
Peace from Durham, NC, USA.
the more I listen, the more I get sad, because I know we won't hear anything new... 😞
@@kategibbs6729 Yes. At the same, time, the more I listen, the more times I experience magic, and hear how much potential influence he gave to us to continue the innovation and the beauty.
Juste magnifique ! Merci !🙏
Bellissimo concerto,grazie

Great upload! Thanks for sharing. EST is unbelievable good.
Every second is amazing in this concert but the chord at 5:12 makes me feel sad, happy, complicated etc... Is it magical just for me? Wonderful...
That first song burns a glowing fire into my mind and heart.
Its very beautiful and powerful.
I love it.

MAESTRO, THANKS

the 2 first chords are so radiohead
I feel so terrible about Keith Jarrett. At least he can still compose. This guy has nice touch. Be grateful for all the blessing you take for granted.
danke...trıo...
Das muss man gesehen haben. Die Wiedergeburt von Lennie Tristanos »Turkish Mambo«. Das fetzt, das hat Magie.

Can anyone tell me the song title / code that opens this video?
I'm looking for a long time...should be Chet Baker ...

The Tune it´s called "SAd Walk" maybe it´s the version of "The Enja Heritage Collection: Strollin'"
what pedal was Esbjorn using.. Anybody ?
Line 6 pod 2.0 i think
God became jealous and wanted Esbjorn for himself. That's why he took him away from us. RIP
