My opinion too… I’ve spent many a year going thru classic miles… Coltrane, Evans, all through to modern players such as Redman, McBride, Mehldau. My favourite for a long time was the Kieth Jarret Trio; these guys are similar, but the way they opened us up to so many genres of music, being playful with it, but masterfully infusing them into a sound I can confidently say was unique specifically to Esbjorn and his Trio. Perhaps the only trio in history in which I truly believe they are all as good as each other musically, never has there been a stronger musical unit I believe.

Three incredibly talented musicians, so together in the wonderful music they played. What would have been, if only........... R.I.P. Esbjorn.
What they did accomplish is absolutely stellar and extraordinarily brilliant and profoundly beautiful. No words suffice actually.
What a loss...
What a tragedy that this artist was lost to us in a Scuba Diving accident at such a young age . Luckily for us so much of his music was preserved for us to enjoy on CD's as well as numerous videos on You Tube . A great , great talent .
These guys are so attuned to each other so amply demonstrated within the tune BOWLING , the economy of Ostrom's drum solo and the re-entry by Berglund and Esbjorn simply incredible .

Such a tragic lost, ….. not only for his family…. or Sweden ….. but for the healing he brought to the entire jazz community……
and the loss for the WHOLE WORLD was devastating 😢
You obviously know the tender story of how his phenomenal drummer ; MAGNUS & Esbjörn met in kindergarten ❗️……. and vowed to start a band one day!!…….lol

I wonder if his son ever got into music?……. I’ll have to check into it?

Beautiful felt comment. We are fortunate to be part of a community in which these miracles come to us, and exist in the first place. What a pity human idiocy is putting all of what has been accomplished at risk of existing no more. Sorry to sound the low note. Hoping for a miracle for the sakes of all of us species on this planet; definitely will take a very enormous miracle.

The croud was getting the beat allright, its only, that the concert happened in studio of slovenian national televison and for that porpouse the crowd is darkened and sound filtered out. However, Brane Rončelj's shows, were the top achivement od RTV Slovenija. Unfortunatley with new times of cheap living style he was removed from televison and tv shows were canceled. His show was replaced by cheap mainstream acordion quasi national music style shows. Such a great loss for our country. And the entrance to his concerts was free, you only ought to get there early enough. Brane, respect! EST concert was the Best!
