Had the privilege of experiencing these guys in a tiny club in Buffalo, NY around 2001. Had never even heard of them, but the ad in the local paper caught my attention. Could NOT have been more than 40 - 50 people there and luckily was sitting up front. I had NO IDEA what was going on, but the recesses of my brain were all lit up! Talked briefly to Esbjorn after the show while he packed up his gear. Said they appreciated the opportunity that Bobby Militello (club owner/Dave Brubeck's sax player) had given them to play here. He said EST had opened some shows for them in Europe. Also said they were going broke doing it, but since they had a strong following overseas, they were going to save $ for a more extensive "TOUR." I became enamored (obsessed?) with them and was determined to see again! BINGO!!! Scored tix to a show as a headliner in a MUCH larger venue at Toronto Jazz Festival. Had heard that this was going to be a BREAKOUT Tour for them that included other major North American cities such as New York. BAM!!! Tragedy strikes just ten days prior to show - ABSOLUTELY DEVESTATED!!! EST becomes INSTANTLY IMMORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great journey for this musician who does not hesitate to approach all areas of musical creation! A world of notes, sounds, colors, poetry, cultures and encounters..🤓
has to be one of est's best live performances ever. very playful and swingy, before they got into the experimental phase. why can't I listen to this on spotify premium rather than have to suffer ad breaks on youtube.

My Favorite Group/Trio. right at the top. I put this Trio in the same company as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Robert Glasper Trios. I'll spare you the nuance, but it's pretty obvious this was an exceptional alignment of stars to bring these guys together. I only wish in 1997 - I could have know about them while I was traveling in Europe.
@Steven Stephens. Esbjörn Svensson passed away in 2008 June, tragic diving accident. I listened to some shows here on Ytube not that long ago, as they kept showing up in my Ytube suggestions and wanted to see when they will be in the USA on tour and found tons of info on them and the sad news of Esbjorn. I love Love LOVE this trios music.
Well done @KizCat for sharing this EST live set and the other ones. I've just realized these days while going back to them that all of these beautiful live sets that I love are posted by the same person. EST awoke the music inside me a few years ago and because of them I now feel the music and also I've started playing piano and other instruments. Many many thanks!
Discover this Group since 2 days , first one concert with Pat Metheny ( Jazz Baltica project) , and now this concert , really nice sounds !!! pity no more now since June 2008

I have been searching for this particular version of 'From Gagarin's Point of View' (9:45), only to find out it is from the DVD and there doesn't seem to be a CD version of this performance. Such a shame but thanks for sharing!
You are all such great musicians. I am a painter and I paint musicians in action. Do you mind if I use you as models for my art? Please let me know. And thank you for your wonderful music, it inspires me to paint.
E.S.T. is E.S.T. It has put Jazz in as the newest addition to classical music. It was a mix of Jazz, Classical (Bach, Shostakovich) and Rock. It was one soul, one organism with 6 hands and 6 feet. A once in a generation band. Highly underrated except for those that have fallen in love with it.
I really enjoyed this concert, but there was an idiot filming this AMAZING CONCERT!!! I so, wished there was better footage of this (no affective shaky camera, can't film one thing for more than a second), after all, Esbjörn is tragically no longer among us! But, I'll enjoy their music all the same - because it is amazing!
Play most of me music on UA-cam all good then UA-cam takes over pressed the button usually nothing you want to listen to, pressed the button and WOWZZA jackpot goad When God Created The Coffeebreak and Eesbjorn Svensson Trio must have been having good day might have been chillin, and on the seventh day, 🎆😎
Chill bruh this music is legendary who cares I actually like the camera work anyway I think it’s dynamic and relates to the feeling of the concert pretty well.

Great trio, however the synthesized bass solo, I no fancy.

que lo parió!!
What is the piece that starts at 33:00 and in which album can we find it?
It's "The Face of Love" from the "Good Morning Susie Soho" album
The type of piece you want to listen to while staring a piece from El Enatsui.

Camera work is poor
yt viewers sense of politeness is poor, too.
That’s all you have to say about this performance?? You are a clown.
Why is the lighting always blue?
blue is the color of softness and serenity that suits this music 😏
so drug addicts in the audience wont find their veins
