One more tip! When the laminated sign my husband made to let others know the pooch had been fed started coming apart, I put it in between a folded silicone sheet, and used an iron to seal it back up. My silicone sheets are baking sheet/placemat sized, so plenty large enough to cover, and fold over objects that need sealed. Another tip! Iron on patches, or fusible applique. I even use these on my cards. I die cut shapes out of iron on patches, or fabric backed with paper backed fusible web and fuse them to cardstock cut from the same die for extra dimension, doing all of that fusing on a silicone sheet. Those sheets are great! Dry embossing, gluing, fusing, repairing of lamination ~ the list goes on!!
Wow thanks for sharing these tips! I have a silicon baking for kneading mat and immediately put it to use. I particularly liked your tip on doing a mirror image when stamping and for gluing which is most useful when trying to spread glue on very detailed die cuts.
Yep! I bought a pack of 3 backing sized sheets. One got a rip in it so I will cut that down to use that for small quick jobs, since I can't tape it back up! Tape won't stick, either! I haven't even used the 3rd sheet yet!
EXCELLENT TIP VIDEO, Connie! I LOVE that the “multiple uses” are ALL IN ONE SPOT! TFS n’ HAPPY CREATIN’ n’ TIPPIN’! Have a TERRIFIC day! Have to say, Connie, TUESDAYS are one of my FAVORITE days for catching your TIP VIDEOS! HUGS!
With so many new demonstrators an crafter's joining all the time it's great that you give us tips of the trade. Didn't know how to do the mirror image before. Thank you
Great tips! I didn’t know the glue doesn’t show on vellum. I don’t have that special plate for the new embossing folders. Thanks for showing the silicone mat can be used instead!
Thanks for this tutorial! I especially like using the Craft Sheet when gluing intricate dies onto a card. When I've finished applying glue and have placed the piece on my card, instead of pressing the piece with my hand or other object, I place the mat on top, and use it to apply pressure. If any glue seeps out, it goes onto the mat. A really great tool!
Hi Connie, from Australia I must say I love watching your videos, thanks for sharing your experience. Thanks also for explaining all these uses for the silicone mat. I'd only come across the kissing technique which was enough for me to buy one. Now it will get a lot more use. 🥰
Thanks Connie. I have 2 so I can place them together for bigger projects. Can I use alcohol markers on them without staining? The reverse stamping is a great idea, but I would do the reverse one first as I think it would be easier to see the placement for the forward image.
Thank you! I don’t have the blue plate for my Big Shot-so this is a huge help. I love my craft sheet and tell everyone they need one. So handy to have around...it sits on my work desk and used every time I craft.
Wow...there you go again, Connie, another wowing video! Can't tell you how many tips there are out there for working with vellum but yours is by far the best! Thanks again for all the great tips!
This great, I have the 3 D embossing folders and have struggled to try and use them. Thank you , the last time I saw a plate like that it was out of stock and forgot about it,now I know it is a good piece to add to my tools, but until then..acrylic sheet to the rescue.
Connie, I use my silicone craft sheet all the time when I am applying glue but I had NO idea I could use it for anything else!! Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips!
Well, I'll be darned! I love my silicone mat & use it all the time but, I never thought about using it with my glue gun, or doing mirror stamping with it. Fabulous video!
A...MAZ.....ING!! I figured out most of your wonderful tips but NEVER would have come up with the double stamping technique. You are a treasure!
Thank you much for showing all the different ways to use the silicone mat.
