Hi Connie, I have a great very simple tip to protect your top cutting plate from getting all cut up. I put a sheet of copy paper over my die under my top plate. Sometimes I put a double sheet. This means my top plate lasts for months and months without having to be replaced. It also protects cardstock from marks, very handy for foil. I have been doing this for years. Verna from Australia 🇦🇺
One of the best tips I ever learned was to add double sided tape to the back of my cardstock before diecutting. Makes life much simpler for intricate diecuts and Sentiments.
Wonderful hints! I never thought about the Press ‘n Seal trick. The box is moving to the craft room! My 13 y/o granddaughter loves to come over and die cut and I will share these tips with her. (She will think I am smart!! 😉)
I've been using Press n' Seal for a long time in my craft room, but never to hold dies in place instead of washi or purple tape! I haven't been happy with any of the "new" tapes to hold my dies, so I'm definitely going to try PnS now! Did you know a fellow crafter's hubby invented PnS?? Yep! Jennifer McGuire's husband invented it!! Oh, and the SU silicone mat is fantastic! I use them all the time for applying glue to intricate dies and daubing them off on the silicone so they don't 'bleed' on my project! I also use them to hold ink pads, loosen lids, etc. I have 2 & I bought my hubby one for the garage so he would keep his mitts off mine!
Great tips, thank you. I recently started this hobby and wanted to emboss with one of my dies. Nothing I improvised worked until I thought of using my thin rubber-ish mouse pad. Voila! it worked.
Great tips, Connie! I never would have thought of the press n' seal in this way. I can't wait to use it. Your enthusiasm is so contagious. I just love watching you!!
Love all the tips! You are such an asset for the stamping world. I loved the beer card. One suggestion? Put the last beer glass on a wobble. I appreciated the tip about making dies work as different labels. Always 🙏
I just made a birthday card before I watched this video. So I didn’t see your comment about the wobble until after everything was glued down. Why can’t I remember these things?🤦🏼♀️
I’m just getting back to making cards. I have SU stamps from way back but I’m interested in the die cuts & embossing. Your tips were great. Thx so much!!
Connie - These are Great & very useful tips. Thank you very much for sharing these die cutting tips with us! Lots of very useful information. Thank you for all your extra work in making a printable pdf to have with all the tips & ideas . Connie you are so crafty talented & so kind to share with us ! Have a great week 👏👏👏💞
My husband is enamored with Press N Seal, he'll help clean up & put away after dinner now! 😄 These tips are great, I printed 2 copies, one for home, one for travel / crops-- thank you!
Found you on UA-cam quite by accident, but am loving your video! You give great tips and what I love most is that you are staying on topic! I hate videos that the presenter gets off topic so much that no matter how good their advice is I feel like it's a waste of my time watching all the extraneous garbage. So thank you not only for all the great tips, but for also realizing our time is valuable as well. Keep up the great work! Love your video!!!!
I come from Canada and I’ve used press and seal for years. Thank you for all these tips. This has been the best video I’ve watch on tips on die cuts. 🇨🇦
I'm a new subbie. I also shared this video with my sister. She just bought a die cut machine. This is great video. I watched many videos on tips for die cutting. But you had info I've never seen before. Thx for great video. Austin,TX USA
Thanks bunches for the reminder about the Press’n’Seal for use as the “hold down tape”! I’ll give that a try, as I’ve tried everything else, from the YELLOW Frog Tape on through the “sensitive skin MEDICAL TAPE”. In most applications, these are just fine - UNTIL I run the project through my embossing/die cutting machine. After that maneuver, ALL those others adhere to the point that they abrade the paper when I try to remove it.
Love your tips. I knew some of them but it was nice for a reminder. Didn’t know about the press and seal. I have some because I had heard it was good for die cuts but couldn’t remember how to use it.
Thank you for sharing I really love your tips I will definitely use the one I could make my card longer or shorter that’s nice have a blessed day can’t wait to see what you have next for me
LOOOOOVE your video! I am so happy I found your video. Love all the useful tips. I just got my big shot and although I am excited to get started, I have to be patient because buying all the beautiful dies can add up. All the tips are useful to know what to do.
Loved the tip on how to emboss from a die. I always had to drag out my “other” die cut machine to get nice embossing from dies. Now I can sell it! Thank you!!!
As always, I really enjoyed your tips and tricks on die cutting. It’s time to dust off my box of Press and Seal that’s been hanging around my craft room just waiting to be put to use! Love all your tips. I’ve been crafting for many years (thoroughly enjoyed my 10+ years as a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator) but I’ve forgotten the many uses and techniques for , in this example, die cutting. Thank you for reminding me of some and teaching me some new techniques. I also appreciate the downloads you offer. I print them up, put them in binders and glance through them before I craft. TFS! 🌹 Ali K.

What is the name of the purple tape tho?
@@kittydemeo it was the original Purple Tape from Therm O Web but they don’t make it anymore. They make a new version but it doesn’t stick very well.
